So just rinse the head under tap water, then dry burn? Then fill up and use as normal?
I like to soak them in PGA and then let them dry before dry burning... it seems to speed up the dry burn a lot

I'm new to this thread, so my assumptions that teaching people how to get around spending money on a vendors product in the vendors forum, may be wrong. I just thought it was courteous. I will be the first to admit if I'm wrong, and if the site owners are taking part in these conversations then clearly I'm wrong.
Oh, as far as the wood VV thing goes, just because a PV is a bottom feeder doesn't mean it has to be used as a bottom feeder. They have 510 connections on top and as such any accessory can be used on them. I had a Phidias bottom feeder and I kept a tank on top of it at all times and never put a juice bottle inside it. Its actually a plus due to the size and weight of a wood PV the tanks feel better balanced on top of them, IMO.
Appreciate your thoughtfullness but the more we make a product useable and extend its life the exact opposite occurs (and this is somethign Chris and I try to drill into our supplier's minds), what happens is people buy more of the product because they have learned how to optimize it, the trust that when they get it it can be used to satisfaction so they trust to buy more for whatever reason. Maybe you have different juices and you edicate a unit to soemthing. Maybe oyu have family and you teach them how to use a unit you trust and are comfy with.
When the clear CE2's came out that was a result of Chris, BR945, and others and all of us (I can't take much credit here, I was just observing and asking questions and contributing here and there) pushing MiT to do it. At first they used cheap plastic that tended to crack. We had to convince them not to fear using a heartier(sp) plastic (they were actually concerned it would remove the disposeable factor, after all these are CHEAP even if you only get 3-4 days out of one). They have seen now that more peopel trusted and they bought more...

At $3 each I may clean them but I will just buy new ones. I am by no means a modder or tinkerer (spelling). Besides I love taffy![]()

Not trying to be argumentative here, just trying to understand your position. WTS, I have 2 Vivis. The first head I started w a week ago went thru at least 6-8 fills, then just stopped working. Instead of buying more heads from your site I simply rebuilt the head. New wick and coil. My point is I will never buy another refill head as I can simply rebuild them.
So your position is that I am not the norm customer? Most folks will just toss the head and buy more? Thats all I was getting at before when I was trying to avoid this subject.

I find that boiling the coils in 3/4 cup of water in the microwave for about two or three minutes gets most of the gunk off of the coils. I don't use any exotic niquids so my coil may not get as gunked up as some do.

that's the first thing that came to my mind too...Just so that I'm clear, are you saying put metal wire in the microwave?

As long as it's under water there is no problem, been doing for over a year with all of my vaporizers. I don't boil them on the stove because I don't know how much hotter the metal next to the flame gets than the boiling water. In the Microwave the highest temp is the boiling water in a glass or cup.
Easy enough to test with anything metal, like an old coil, as long as it's covered with water.
