Apologies in advance, I haven't read through much of the thread, but is it generally known that you need to use a much lower voltage on these than you would on a carto of the same resistance? Even the 2.8ohm head needs low voltage for me, normally on a 2.8 or so carto I would run 4.5-5v, seems on this if I use more than 3.6-3.7v I get dry/burnt taste pretty quickly. Is this normal or do I need to fiddle with something, lol?

I normally vape mine at between 6-8w... On a 2.8 ohm head that would put it somewhere between 4-4.7v... I use a Kick ( which is why I mentioned wattage earlier ) ... On a device that uses pulse width modulation ( PWM ), it would require a lower setting since they pulse the voltage from their lowest setting voltage to their highest and the voltage they display is just an average of those two numbers...
Of course there is another attribute that comes into play... the juice. Some juices can stand higher voltage settings than others without tasting "burnt". In short, there are several factors that come into play... the type of output of the PV ( straight voltage vs pulsed ), the coil itself as well as the juice being vaped.
On the Vivi's and most of the Vision products... they vape about like other coils to me so I think of them as "standard" as far as voltage/wattage goes. The E1 Reload and the Phoenix products seem to like lower voltages... so I vape them at lower voltage/wattage settings.
Yes it does taste burnt before and after I dry burn. Perhaps I need to do it several times, like you do. I only do it twice, and don't rinse it again. I'll try your method, thanks

I usually let them sit long enough to dry. Much harder to do if they are damp.....
Where else but in Chicago would they put a new top on an old stadium. Kind of half hearted...just like the team that plays there.
Rinsing after dry burning is really important for me, personally - I'm very sensitive to burnt taste, and if I don't rinse, I get this ashy, icky flavor. Brrrrg.
Same here briar. I did one that I dry burned, and it only took like 2 dry burns to see the coils glowing, so I thought....meh, no need to rinse this one, nothing burned off of it. Wow was I wrong! lol
also Sandy, make sure that even once you see the coils glowing, if there is any smoke or smell coming off, keep doing it til there isn't any. The ce3 bc's you can only do in 2 second bursts, but I do about 4 second bursts with these since they're like the stardust heads.

briar is correct, you must rinse after the dry burn. I was missing this step for a while and dry burning never worked for me either. After i started rinsing, its been working for me. When you dry burn, your burning off all the gunk on the coil which leaves a burnt ash on the coil. If there is enough gunk you'll see a grey ash on the coil. You want to rinse that off thoroughly or its all you will taste.

What do I know... I also reheat and drink day old coffee ( when I didn't drink the whole pot the previous day ) and eat cold pizza...
My first one had the center stem in the tank that was leaning. Though it worked ok it didn't look right. I pushed down on the center post and it sort of snapped into place and is now straight.
The more I use the mini, the more I really do wish the full sized nova tank was built like the mini with the tank threads going into the base and top instead of around IYSWIM.
Will this surprise be in soon enough so I can take delivery before Sept. 14th?
