I nominated and I voted... I was surprised by some of the nominated names too... but then, if everyone didn't bother to participate to nominate who they feel was deserving, they can't bi*ch about what isn't included for the final vote!!

Thanks for taking time to put this together. It will be interesting to see the final (and I'm sad KentC took MY nomination off the list, ha).

I guess I completely missed the nomination part cause i would definately have nominated you and some others just for the incredible innovations and break-thru technology of the How Many Forum Members to screw in a light bulb forum.
I'm off to vote.

I've removed VaprLife as the creator of The Spade. I'm totally confused ... isn't this created by VaprLife? I see it listed on the Vapor Talk Store and Dietsmokes. The creator is never mentioned but it is always listed with the VP1 and VP2. Its a cute enough kid and I'm sure it's parents are proud so, umm ... who are they?

Yes VaprLife is the creator of The Spade, however it is being sold through dietsmokes and the vapor talk store.

On a side note, I'm going to agree with kevbow on the "wtf is with moobyghost and service to the industry?" I mean really, I doubt moobyghost views himself as really providing a service. He gives reviews in exchange for free merchandise. I guess if he were buying all this stuff and reviewing it honestly to give people unbiased information, it could be a service.

I just have a hard time taking any type of awards seriously when the nominees include moobyghost in service to the industry and don't include those people like DVap. It seems to me that the process being used is faulty, as there is no criteria for nominations. Everything is up and open to popularity.

please keep in mind that this a first run put together by people like you and me... I feel DVap should have been nominated as well. Unfortunately this time he didnt receive enough nominations. Hang in there with us and I am positive that the process WILL get better as time goes along... please understand we just wanted to say thanks.

The nominations were open for about a week. Is the system perfect? Nope. Dvap did receive votes but wasn't in the top 5. How about we focus on the "good" nominees and vote for them.

Thats kind of my point. Nominations were for about a week. Thats not very long at all. AFAIK, nominations were only posted here on ECF, and no other forums. The process is flawed.

In the end, I know it doesn't matter, as these "awards" are informal and amount to a hill of beans, but flawed nomination procedures can lead to flawed award winners, which in turn will take away any meaning these awards may have had. It becomes of no value even to the "good" nominees, because the entire process is obviously flawed.

Just my opinion but I feel that a week is plenty of time for the nomination process. Also, believe me, other forums were very aware of this voting. That is why a web site was created to vote on, rather than doing it inside this forum. Again, I know it's not perfect. It was just an idea that a few of us wanted to follow through on with the hopes that some day it might be "worth a hill of beans". Perhaps next year you will add your input and help us make this process more meaningful.
Thanks.

Lemme see here, voidnil, pete54 and silence put this together right?

Good effort folks! Commendable in all regards.

Considering the flak ya'll had to put up with during the nomination period, it speaks volumes to your individual as well as collective spirit and character that you've seen this first go through to this point.

Commendable in all regards.

There are some procedural aspects that could use some tweaking, what worthwhile effort doesn't have this trait?

So to all the naysayer’s: Please make an effort to show a bit of common courtesy in your comments.

Thank you, and yes, this has been quite a learning experience! Actually, we're pleasantly surprised at the volume of voting being done!

Moobyghost put a video up on his website telling people about the vapy awards. He stated that if people went to the site, to vote for him. Apparently he has enough people listen to him to make the top 5 (which should give him some merit whether any of us are fans or not). He probably got a lot of people to this website just by mentioning it on his which means a lot of people listen to him which makes him a good contributor to a majority of people. I'm not sticking up for him, I have some posts in my past stating that I disagreed with some of the things he said in the past regarding these very awards which have since been settled. The top 5 in each category were nomination only by people who signed up and nominated their favorite. Maybe a lot of people didn't know about these awards but considering the negative publicity surrounding these awards, it would be next to impossible to not know about them unless you don't get on the forum regularly.

All you can do is get the word out about vapyawards.com and make sure you nominate your favorites next year :). Until then, let's go vote on who is the best in each category this year!

Kent C I Dont know why you wouldnt want to take credit for all your work but everyone is entitled to there own opinions. Thanks even though your not in there anymore.

While I don't want to spoil the fun, I'd prefer not to be included in this. Nothing against those who are interested. If you could edit the post to remove my name that would be fine.

Thanks.
Kent C
