Just sent you a pm.
~Thankyou~ I agree, why quit the things you don't want to, when you don't have to. xBefore I found e-cigs, I posted a question on yahoo answers, asking how to quit, I was really surprized at what several ppl said "You have MS, why you should you have to quit?, enjoy your life while you can" I was determined to quit though, and fortunately one of answers I got, someone told me about e-cigs, As soon as I got it in the mail, I never smoked another cigarette since!x

I never really wanted to "quit" so much as I wanted to keep my health. What really made me go for it full force was the massive amount of heavy metals found in American tobacco compared to those found outside of the US. Research Polonium-210 and cigarettes if you're interested at all. But I'm glad you found your way to quit =D without having to give up what you love! Now you can enjoy you life, and for longer!

I wish I could say I haven't smoked one since I got my vape, but the occasional Marlb 27 loves to find its way to me now and then. =/

The worse I have heard was the self-rightous "well, I quit cold turkey" which to me just sounds like sour grapes.

As much as I hate people are are self-righteous, I have to admit, if someone does quit cold turkey successfully, it definitely is much more of an accomplishment than quitting with e-cigs. I wouldn't want to personally, but I'll let those people keep those bragging rights... after all, it's okay for them to be jealous, I'm still getting nicotine and they're not! >:)

I take it your girlfriend has absolutely no habits?

What is wrong with a "habit" if it's not hurting anyone?

If that was the case, they should ban nose picking in public, too!

Hey now! Don't give anyone any ideas! Smoking while I ate used to be one of my few pleasures, they took that away (mostly, although there are still a few restaurants here that allow smoking in a separate section), now you want to take away my nose picking????? Noooooooooooooo

I have a better question:
Who gives a F$^K. Seriously, I don't much care what other people think about what
I do with my time, or what I enjoy. This is MY life. If others want to spend theirs
watching how I live my life it's their loss. I, however, have no intention of wasting MY
life worrying over what I think about someone else's habits.

That's not to say I'm not willing to debate just about any topic... but that's where it
stays. What someone else does with their time, at the end of the day, is none of my
damn business. I'm not about to tell someone to stop just because I don't agree with
it, nor do I pay any mind to someone that tries it with me. *smoke* *Smoke* *Puff* *puff* Kiss my ....

My husband was able to quit cold turkey. So was my best friend. I too tried to quit cold turkey. I wound up digging through the trash to try to find a .... to smoke, pathetic. So I tried the nicotine gum-didn't work. Tried the patch-didn't work. Tried Chantix-had a bunch of crazy dreams, got kind of psychotic-my SPOUSE told me that I should keep smoking. I did quit for 2 months after a bad case of bronchitus but started up again as soon as I could breathe..... The e-cig is the ONLY thing that has ever allowed me to quit without anxiety attacks, without stress, and, MOST IMPORTANT has ELIMINATED my desire to smoke cigarettes. To me, it's a miracle product. Is it "cheating"? Yes, probably since i'm still very much hooked on nicotine (which is supposedly as difficult a habit to kick as heroine). Do I care? NO. If I can eliminate the thousands of KNOWN carcinogens in cigarettes, and REPLACE my previous habit with the e-cig then I am OK with that, I will try to reduce my nicotine habit over time but at least I am eliminating
THOUSANDS of chemicals for now. Which is something that's never before been possible, or even concievable, for me before.

After only one week of full time vaping I couldn't smoke an analog. And half the time I smoke zero nicotine liquid. I just really enjoy the vapor and the taste. The people who are peeved about it are so because I get to enjoy everything that's good about it, and none of the bad and they're jealous they didn't get to experience that.

Most of me agrees with those who say "who cares what they think?" But at the same time, the more people that are educated about it and lose their negative attitude toward it, the more people that will be on our side about the issue. I am concerned about the future of e-cigs.

Kristen,

I understand that you don't 'get' vap'n is a cheating way to stop smoking cigarettes. It boils down to the age old hobby of judging and condeming others. It seems that humans just love attacking other humans. If they can put a smoke screen (pun intended) over it by saying they are concerned about our health, or the health of the envirnment or whatever sounds good to cover their real hidden motive, which is just to condemn and judge others, then it just makes them, they think, look better.

Many people feel as if the only way they can feel better about themselves is to belittle others. By knocking down others they feel better about themselves. The only trouble is they are only getting temporary releif. Sooner or later they start feeling bad about themselves again and start looking for another whipping boy.

This is a sad condition in society, but a real one. Fortunately, not everyone is inflicted with this disease.

I came across this yesterday and ive been so infuriated about it all day....an ex smoker(of ages) told me i hadnt given up and it wasnt the same and it looked ridiculous!!!like i was sucking on a pen....totally embarassed me in front of everyone(bout ten people of my other halfs family)...this was my 2nd time ever to ecig use in public....i felt like going and getting a real one but i didnt thankfully....people like this dont understand that i am still using willpower to give up and its harder when they say this...i feel like my accomplishment of 3 weeks is nothing now....wished all u guys had been there...

can i ask for the record...if you vape maybe 8 cigs worth of 10mg liquid....how much worse for you is that than say 8-10 cups of strong coffee(thats the addiction this person has who is putting me down!)

Wow. This has been one of the most interesting and intelligent topics that I've read and thoroughly enjoyed here. Ok, now I have to say:

STOP!

Why does anyone really care what someone else thinks? Who the hell are they to judge me or anyone else, to ridicule me, to belittle me in public? In most cases when someone else talks down about someone else, it's because they are trying to make themselves look better. I think a lot of it has to do with power. All the anti-smoking laws that are in effect make anyone who doesn't smoke powerful in that they feel that they are "right" to tell you that you can't smoke here or there. Smokers have for a long time been banned and banished from so many places, cast aside by society in general, looked down upon as weak and smelly individuals who are beneath them.

My best supporters have been people who never smoked a day in their life. My not-so-supportive and most arrogant ones have been both smokers and those who have quit smoking some other way. And yes, I've had a few who have actually said "So when are you going to quit those?", referring to my PV. My response has always been with a distinct "stink-eye" and "Why should I?" And the "You cheated" comment is always a good one and the best response is you bet your *ss I've cheated! There are two guarantees in life - Death and Taxes and I'm cheating both!

For me, PG irritates my throat so I've gone to pretty much 100% VG in all my e-juices. So other than the addictive nicotine, what am I inhaling that is so terrible, so offensive, so intrusive to anyones sensitivities? Personally, I am beyond tired of this PC (Politically Correct) world we live in and we are destroying ourselves with the petty BS that goes on each and every day. Do we not have more important things to be worried and concerned with like the 100,000 plus Americans involved in wars in the middle east? Maybe the unemployment rate, the economy, illegal immigration, corrupt politicians - and the hits just keep on coming.

Unfortunately we are becoming a society full of wieners and winers and so many other things that I am not proud to admit. My PV is legal. My possession and use of my PV and all its accessories is legal anywhere and everywhere unless the proprietor of the establishment asks/tells me not to - they have that right, just as I would have the right to ask/tell anyone to leave my house. Yes, PV's are new to most and it is a very sensitive time with their use right now, but after just about 2 months of a new and healthier life, I've decided that enough is enough and I'm not going to let anyones comments bother me one little bit. I'm not getting any younger and I'm tired.

Ok, off my soapbox - again...
