Two of my close friends that smoke have shown a real interest in vaping - one bought a cigalike kit after seeing me vape but is fascinated by my eRoll so wants me to pick one up for him the next time I order some e-liquid. The other has taken a few puffs on my Green Smoke kit and the eRoll and likes it so I'm going to get a fresh pack of Green Smoke cartos and let her borrow it for a few days to see if she wants to switch to something a little more sophisticated.

That said, the town where I live is a vaping wasteland - the only place I've seen vaping gear is a mall concession stand for Socialites (haven't tried them but they look on par with Skycig etc.) and I've yet to see a single fellow vaper when I'm out and about - good job there's some reliable UK online vendors!!

*Edit* lol! Gotta love Socialites' marketing BS:

Socialites said:
Producing flavours to closely resemble the real taste of the UK’s top five brands was no mean feat. However, after months of intense lab trials and determination we achieved what we first thought to be impossible.

Not settling for anything less than perfect became our driving force very early on when forming the Socialites Zero brand.

We are unique within the industry and are fully committed in providing cutting edge technology paired with the very best pharmaceutical grade nicotine liquids and flavours

My wife and I were in a furniture store looking at bedroom furniture and I just happened to pull out my Provari and have a vape. Three employees saw me and one said to the other, "Look Bill, his puts out WAY more smoke than yours!". From there the conversation started. His was a gas station slim model of some kind. I told him where the local Stormy's Vapor Cellar B&M was and he couldn't wait to get off work and pay them a visit. Turns out that they were all smokers and he was trying to quit with his ecig and having some issues. I imagine that Stormy's got three new visitors shortly afterward.

My friends aren't generally smokers. Some have heard the antifreeze propaganda and the cancer stuff (trace nitrosamines) from the single 2009 FDA test. I have to educate them on what that entailed and then they understand. I'm sure they wish I'd shut up, but I have to tell the whole story or nothing. I'm not just gonna say nothing, though! :)

No friends or family who smoke (I'm the black sheep), but they fall into two camps (about 50-50 each):

1) Good for you!

2) You haven't really quit anything, in fact that stuff looks like a junky's works (I'm not using cig-alikes).

Nothing will shift either camp - they even argue between themselves about it.

At work, however, what was once 18-20 smokers is now 12 vapers and 6-8 anti-vape smokers, the latter feeling somehow threatened I suppose. They try to make jokes (frenemy style) and claim they're going to do the "right" thing and quit. One by one, they continue to fall... to vaping. This was done simply by answering all the comments with a smile and a "hey, it works for me". When they ask real questions, we're all happy to help them out. I find the bigger the initial resistance, the more evangelistic the ultimate vaper if they convert.

So far, all my friends seem interesting in hearing about vape once they see me with mine and talk to me. I explain my motivations, tell them about what I have to do to fill/maintain etc, explain the cost differences and also provide my take on the health implications. All are either supportive or interested it trying vape out.

Family are all supportive but I still ask permission to vape in their homes/around their kids before I fog up the place.

Generally, I don't try to push any current analog user into vape, but make it plainly clear IF THEY are interested in learning and trying it out, they can count on my help and support.

Most of my friends smoke and like everyone else most say vaping is "gay". I've got one friend who I set up with an evod/eGo starter kit. He really wants to quit and is taking to it well. One said that he'd tried a cigalike and it doesn't give an actual hit so I turned up my mod and let him hit it and watched him cough for a while :D

I took my setup to family gathering during the holidays and was nervous about how they would react to it. Everyone was really suportive and interested asking me questions.

Yeah, this Xmas was the first vaping with the parents test for me, so I wan't sure how they'd react. I was always a bit reluctant to smoke around them - even after 10 years smoking and even though they are both ex-smokers (quit before I was born) and were well aware I was a smoker.

In the event, both fine with it and happy for me and my partner to vape in the house - my dad did hesitate for a second but had no issue when I explained that it wouldn't smell and was interested to know what it was - my mum even had a puff (12 mg vanilla/tobacco mix, she was not a fan).

My little brother, who's always been a bit of a smoking nazi, definitely saw it as a positive thing.

Most of my smoking friends think my SVD is incredibly cool and take puffs regularly. Very few have taken up vaiping though, and I do not try to convince them to. I'll happily answer questions, and blabber on until I'm interrupted, and will recommend equipment and where to buy them if asked.

Just curious what their reactions are?
I assume, you guys like me, try to convince them to convert to our world of vaping.

Majority blow me off, one called my ecig "gay", and I have only one that is somewhat curious about trying it out.
I've even offered to buy her a ego starter kit but she refused.

Have you guys been successful in converting anyone to switch over from the dark side?
What comebacks do you guys use to those people are so dismissive and blow off the idea completely?

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him Vape... LoL

Seriously though, one has to want to quit smoking in my experience, before they'll even give Vaping a try... I gave my sister an e-cig for Christmas & she hasn't even charged it yet... I hope to help her make the switch to Vaping when she is ready to quit analogues.

I love vaping. I love not stinking of ciggies anymore. I'm breathing so well & feel so much fitter- thanks to Vaping & I don't really Vape that much. Vaping is awesome. And ECF rocks!! :)

In time your friends may become curious & hopefully you'll help them make the switch- but (like I said before) they have to want to first. Good luck afbaydave. :)

Get some mixed reactions. Lots of questions, and strange comments. Have at least 3 that I know of who have taken the plunge and are now vaping full time. One has even gone into evangelist mode and promotes vaping to his friends, and on his Facebook page. Makes me feel proud that they pay it forward, just like I did after I was introduced to vaping by a friend.

I bought one e-cig for my GF and she likes it. She still smokes but she also uses the e-cig. I am hoping that over a period of time she will like Vaping as much as I do. Another friend of mine is thinking of buying one. I tell him what I am experiencing with my MVP and he tells me hes going to go out and buy one. Foe the most part people are happy that I have given up analogs after 35 years of smoking them.

This is my same situation. I got my fiancé and I the Kanger evod kit.....so she has one too. I upgraded to the MVP2, and she seems content with the evod, has cut down but still smokes cigs. She likes it and all, but doesn't get into it as much as I do. Doesn't have much interest in getting a mod. I am down to 2-3 cigs a day now

Gotta love the reactions of some people who are in their cars next to you at a red light tho! haha I aways think they must think I am smoking weed
