you should have another category that isn't so restrictive to lame labels like right and left, they're just foisted on the public to marginalize those who carry the torch of truth, hahaha

Add another category for OUTRAGED CITIZEN

Sure doesn't sound it. Just about everything you said is all from the Left wing propaganda book.

We wouldn't need Obamacare if they just tackled the cost of health insurance by going after the things that inflate it, Big Pharma, and trial lawyers but wait you cant do that they are in bed with the left. They got through the whole Obamacare thing unscathed.

Out of all the BIG countries you speak of that provide health care which ones are less bankrupt than the US? China and Russia? Out of all the BIG countries, is the quality of health care better than ours? Yep I think I'm starting to see the type of government you would like to see now.

The fact is we are all being brainwashed from the day we enter 1st grade and the process is completed once you finish college. Its just how they do it in China and Russia.

It is up to each person to go out and find alternative news sources that provide both sides of the debate, unlike the media you provided as an alternative.

Diablo,
look for a new documentary called Hot Coffee that blows open the whole tort reform thing, turns out we've been exposed to years of propaganda that's been designed to debase our desire to defend our tort rights. the level of mis-information and the way it's designed to make us believe the way we do...it's just incredible what they've been able to do...for us to even have the level of noise we do about patient's rights...the whistle-blower from the insurance industry, what's his name, Potter, you surely don't think he's left? come on, there's left hippie and there's big corporations that have bought control of the message

for healthcare around the world...
you really think the current economic situation is any measure of their ability to provide healthcare to all of their people? after we bankrupted the world, and you're talking like that?

wisconsin's public pensions being under water has gotten a lot of bad press, but they'd be in the pink if wallstreet hadn't pulled what it did, pushing bad paper on all the pensions like that. it's not left to be ...... at corporations and how their hand is at work at union busting. it's not left, it's truth.

mountain top mining that's taken over the local political system, corporations union busting all over, workers' rights in foreign countries mimicing our own industrial revolution, but since they own their media they don't get the public outrage, just like they keep a lid on isht
\
alternate news sources does not mean Fox news, a Maryland University study showed that viewers of Fox news were more "mis-informed" about current issues than any other news source. And if you watch the movie "Out Foxed" as left as you may say it is, it's all true, it's commonly referred to as outright propaganda for the ultra-right wing of the republican party, with no "news" integrity wanted or needed. I really think they just want to show what it looks like for republican's to be on TV, as a brain-washing and recruitment agency. hahaha

obamacare

the insurance industry's campaign contributions have more to do with that word's existance that you care to know

McDonald's lost some money, chump change to them, in a suit brought by a woman who got burnt by hot coffee, and they got other corporations to get together and make us believe that she didn't deserve to get any money for getting burnt. The mis-information campaign started years ago and is still going on. All she asked for was the money her insurance company would not cover, about $30,000 dollars. And for that and similar cases our belief system has been eff'ed with by corporations for years, and I am upset.

here is what they never wanted us to see, the woman who was burnt by mcdonalds hot coffee (it was the judge who ordered them to pay more than $30,000 for their severely bad behaviour during the trial - it's always the cover up that infuriates more than the act)
McDonalds1.jpg

TR Reid has studied healthcare systems around the world, and says one big reason our health costs are high is because the insurance industry charges about 16% instead of the 4% they've gotten it down to in the other systems.
the worst thing you can say about those other systems is that they make people wait, but everyone gets the same treatment (except the rich get their private doctors of course, no waiting for them). they do not let people die as much as we do. i'm not talking about China or Russia, talking about Canada, Cuba, France, isn't it pretty much all of Europe now?
everyone, at every stage of the game currently takes profit, so it only follows that if you make it a not-for-profit system you have a better chance of controlling costs...everyone watches Fox news, thinks privatizing is the best thing, but that's just what the corporations want you to think. duh, so frustrating

alternate news sources are not newspapers, network television, or radio, because with media consolidation, only six corporations control all of it, so alternate means from the left or outside, Al Jazeera is not left, are they? They're pro-arab, that's easy to pick out, and pro-Islamist, obviously when they let you listen to four minutes of someone calling prayers, but I wouldn't call them left, they're respected journalists and have a high journalism ethic, and I watch them every day, and they have a way different take which is more down to earth and has less spin than any network television news story I've seen recently.

so, no dis-respect, but even tho i'm frothing at the mouth, you're kind of proving my point.

I'm far right. Smaller Government, Less Taxes, more Liberty and Justice for all.

They say that but don't DO that. Bush had a HUGE government expansion. Also we have some of the lowest taxes now since the 50's (Tax bills in 2009 at lowest level since 1950 - USATODAY.com) with interest rates near ZERO. Yet the economy is not exactly "booming".

Liberty and Justice for all? As long as you believe that Jesus is God. Are not Gay. And do not believe women have the right to choose. Which is my biggest ......

The right is constantly going on about too much welfare, people living off the government, food stamps, social services then have issues with women getting abortions? Can you imagine if we did not allow it? Millions of poor unwed mothers running around with more coming every year. Because the right only seems to care about the your life up until the time you exit your mother vagina.

To simpify things a bit. Taxes are the price you pay for living a civilized society. Government is supposed to be the stick to keep big business and the uber wealthy from making serfs out of the rest of us. But our government is broken because of the influence of big money to buy elections. One of the worst supreme court decisions ever Citizen United to allow unfettered corporate money in. BTW thanks to the right leaning justices.

No choice for Rational Anarchist? :(
Is that like responsible speeder? If so, I understand.

I have long considered myself just a bit left of center. But with the ridiculous, dangerous shifting of the USA's political spectrum to the extreme right, where Reagan would be rejected today as being a Liberal, and Joe McCarthy would be mainstream ... I find it hard to categorize myself on today's political playing field.

I guess I'm a Socialist (by today's standards), and that wasn't a Poll option.

No apologies.
Golly gee, I hope my post did NOT sound apologetic. You guy's are undeniably good at rhetoric and bumper sticker slogans.

"Golly gee", was quoting a characterization of Reagan, btw. Flaming liberal that he was.

I sure hope Bachmann gets the GOP nomination. :) :)

Out of your business, out of your bedroom. Libertarian.

Its sad to see people saying they don't vote for libertarian candidates because it would be a wasted vote. When from most of the people I talk to, are at the core, whether they know it or not, libertarian. And from the results so far in this poll, it seems to hold true. I think that thrown away vote outlook needs to change. I would be so happy if we threw our bipartisan system out and had a strong third party, or even fourth and fifth party.

Ron Paul is a true libertarian, and has to run as a Republican unfortunately. I think if more leftists looked at Paul's point of views, they would see they actually agree with him, and vote for him.

I am also a capitalist and Jeffersonian in thought. The national government is a dangerous necessity to be instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security of the people, nation or community; it should be watched closely and circumscribed in its powers.

If they cleaned up their party and stopped campaigning on dog-whistle racism, I'd vote for them. As it is, they're campaigning on nothing more than the ability of business owners to keep those people (whichever group of those people the listener wants to imagine) from living in their neighborhoods, shopping in their stores, and working beside them. If the (big L) Libertarian party as-it-is got into power, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free would be in our gulags, waiting to be loaded onto ships and deported.

No one has the right to deny someone else the ability to earn a living/feed and clothe their family/keep a roof over their family's heads. Anyone who thinks smaller and less intrusive government automatically equals the ability to tell someone I don't like their skin color, or religion, or political beliefs, or choice of spouse, so get out of my business - well, that person is a bigot. And Ron Paul is right there at the head of the bigot parade, talking about free association and cheerleading for the ability to do just that.

Cue the bogus cries of reverse racism and victimhood of the poor, picked on majority in 3.... 2....

Let me say that it is nice to see that the Childlike Shouting Matches and the Political Banner waving have been kept to a minimum in this thread.

For me it is hard to vote in this poll because there are some areas I think we need more Government and there are Many areas we need much less. Some things work better with a Democratic approach. Some work better with a Republican approach. Some need some New thinking which only a 3rd party can bring.

But the one thing that has been made Extremely clear over the last 20 years of Bi-Partition politics is we need Compromise and Accountability in our Elected Officials.

It really doesn’t matter what party you belong to of what your political views are. You are NEVER going to be able to have things Exactly how you want them. One size just doesn’t fit all. So let’s start Compromising on some issues and get this country going again.

As to some people mentioning voting, I’ll leave you with a Very famous quote.

“If Voting Really Made a Difference, They Wouldn’t Let You Do It.” Mark Twain
