These cases may be from people who are making their own liquids and not mixing correctly??? May be using too much nic???

No. What these people are "vaping" has nothing to do with what we vape.
This is a synthetic "high" substance people are going after...remember K2 and Spice ?
(marketed as "incense"...yea...right...)
Same stuff - it's just the 'trendy' method of usage.
People are after a cheap high and are buying Black Market dangerous crap.

The problem is that anti smoking/vaping healthcare and media are lumping it all together as vaping...the method of delivery and therefore making ALL vaping "Bad" in their eyes.

This has caused way greater damage to OUR vaping than even the "OMG the kids are Juuling" groups.

I agree the adulterant angle is FAR worse than the teen angle.

I will say, like with the teen thing.... Remember the late 80s? When insurance was like "Sure, we will lock up your teen in a psych unit for you pretty much for as long as you need/want?"

There were all these vaguely menacing commercials that said stuff like, "Is your teen DEPRESSED? Do they stay alone in their room a lot, listening to LOUD music? Do they not want to talk to you? Do they yell?.... (Including pretty much every symptom of a NORMAL teen)…."

Then they would be "Ourfacility name can help." With a 1-800 number. I know a few teens with good insurance (like, Tricare paid forever at that time) that were stuck in facilities for years. Including my ex, in fact he had his 18th birthday there, then was discharged to the street, pretty much.

I did always think he might have turned out better had that NOT happened, although I did divorce him, so maybe they were just like, kinda doing the same thing.

But yea, the teen articles remind me of THAT.

I find it to be the confluence of three angles. There’s the teen angle, the adulteration angle, and the phraseology angle.

The people doing the adulteration are teens. Teens who got into vaping because of JUULs. Very very high nic stealth e-cigarettes (I typed “vapes” there first and erased it)

The third confluence angle is the word “vape”. The first things to be put into e-cigarettes were carefully formulated very pure liquids of known content and included nicotine. It didn’t stay that way though. Other stuff who’s word descriptors may not even be used on this site we’re included in the term “vaping” as well. Then came “salts”. Then apparently adulterated stuff. There has been a succession of steps of degradations of the word.

At this point “vaping” is more or less functionally similar to hot knifing glass pipes or any other scary system.

Is it what WE do? Heck no. So we probably need a new word since the old one has been besmirched

21 Cases of Lung Disease Linked to Vaping Cannabis Bought on Street

"...a spokesman for the Department of Public Health wrote that the agency is "working with local public health departments, other state departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to gather more information on patients, and on products and substances used."

The Department is urging people to avoid vaping cannabis products sold by unlicensed vendors."

Dank Vapes Is the "Biggest Conspiracy" in Pot That Can Put You in a Coma | Inverse

These are just people filling cartridges as ‘Dank Vapes.’ It’s not a singular facility. It’s just people in their garages filling them and selling them.”

Myron Ronay, the CEO of BelCosta Labs, a cannabis testing lab in California, tells Inverse that they often see black-market products that contain unsafe levels of myclobutanil — a fungicide. When myclobutanil is heated, it releases toxic fumes, one of which is hydrogen cyanide. Small amounts of HCN are released when smoking cigarettes, but larger doses are lethal. HCN was a major component of Zyklon-B, the gas used in Nazi gas chambers. Unregulated products, like black-market Dank Vapes, have no one checking to see where that line is drawn."

Shady Companies and Black Market Substances, Not JUUL, Are Causing Hospitalizations

"It should be noted that issues with black market vape products have already sent teens to the hospital. I suppose THC products aren’t as sexy as JUUL. In January, three teens in two Indiana schools were hospitalized after smoking “THC vape pens that were laced with an unknown substance, possibly a narcotic.” Also in January, six high school students in New Mexico were hospitalized “after vaping marijuana wax.” In fact, the U.S. Army issued a warning in 2018 on the dangers of vaping synthetic marijuana. This came after more than 90 military personnel had been hospitalized and two died after vaping illicit substances.

This is deeply problematic. Unlike e-cigarette products sold in convenience and mom-and-pop vape shops, these products are totally unregulated and commonly sold on the black market. Moreover, this influx of illegal and unregulated vaping products is being lumped into the same category as legal vaping products, which are regulated as tobacco harm reduction products."

Sure, if you would like a new word to save vaping by all means be my guest but holy goodness I'm pretty sure in the grand scheme of things that is akin to sort of writing a letter to your senator, NOT sending it, printing it out, and setting it on fire.

We could call it "Unicorn Lottery win" and it's still kind of heading toward.... A bad place.

Also for the love of god no name suggestions on THIS thread, I cannot GO Through that again. LOL.

I WOULD if it would change the outcome but otherwise NO.

That’s only because it’s protected by BT. “Vaping” was a word invented to differentiate from smoking because smoking was worse. I’m garbage at inventing terminology myself. “nicotinizing” maybe? Terrible word. It needs to be specific about exactly what is and is not involved.

OMG in FLAGRANT disregard for the rules of my OWN past post, I do believe I have found new word for vaping that would make the enemies embrace it.

"BILL CLINTON."

"Watha doing there Anna?"

"Oh, I'm just BILL CLINTONING, how about you?"
:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I really think it could work....
Anna
Ok. That’s worse than either smoking or nicotinizing.

of course partisan politics is going to make an entrance. How could it not?
The implication that this is all coming from blue is cute though. False, but cute.

IMHO big corporations generally go red and that’s where the money is coming from. Some of that money is going to specially prepared parts of blue as well of course.
Where is it really coming from? Neither. It’s coming from green.
I get the impression personally that green tends to deal with red better than blue. Blue has to be tricked into it as well as paid. Red only has to be paid.
