I'm a full time Firefighter and as of right now my work treats it just as they would treat a smoker. I have to go outside in the back of the station to use my PV.... Shhh don't tell anyone but I use it in my bunk at night before bed....

Well atleast you dont run the risk of starting and putting a fire out lol

I am Operations Manager for the local transit authority, in line to become GM when the current GM retires in 2 years. He is a real "hater" anti-smoker, and has taken it to the personal level with me (in my view verging on harassment), especially since I only used to smoke about 2 analogs a day, outside and away from everyone at work. If I sprain my ankle, he blames it on some negative side effect of smoking. Has threatened to not recommend me for Manager if I don't quit, etc.

Last week I switched to e-cigs and completely quit smoking the same day. Won't touch another analog, and I couldn't be happier about the choice. I haven't told the GM, just for spite. I stealth-vape in my office quite a bit, and he never knows it - can't smell it or anything obviously. If he did, I am sure he would act disgusted, pretend like the smell is bothering him and not allow it. If he ever notices that I don't seem to smoke outside any more and asks, I will just tell him, "No, I haven't quit smoking, why do you ask?" And continue to stealth vape all I want :)

Software consultant - generally I don't ask permission but one of my law enforcement customers saw me outside with it and told me I didn't have to be outside to use it. So I vaped away at my desk and got a ton of "where can I get one" and the obligatory "is that safe for by-standards?" questions. Other than that no problems at all. Education is the key.

I'm a logger and still trying to decide the best pv for my work environment. I'm seasonally laid off right now and adjusting to vaping with my first pv--a joye510. I'm very satisfied with it for the time being, but I don't think it'll quite fill the bill when I go back to work. I'm doing my homework trying to decide on a pv with longer battery life and some degree of durability.
Considering the ego, Chuck and Chameleon. We'll see what happens.

I am also self-employed, but my upholstery shop (in my house!) must be smoke free for the sake of non-smoking clients, and the commercial clients (Hospital and clinics) demand smoke free. My PV is stealth!
I once had to re-pay a lady $75 to deodorize her living room chair, because it smelled of smoke. She was very nice about it because she had been a smoker, but I gladly paid it. She could have in all fairness demanded a re-do.
I learned my lesson the hard way.

Ahem, WHERE'S THE JUICE???

If memory serves me, there's only 1 casino in Tampa. I used to be a frequent guest in the poker room. Is smoking still acceptable? Hmm, If I were to vape at the table, I might just distract a few and win some extra pots. More $$$ for V4L!!!

Yep, currently only 1 casino here, though the state is thinking of 'opening' Florida up since they can't agree on our compact. I don't actually know if smoking is allowed in our poker room, I'd have to ask. I've walked past it a million times, but I've never paid attention, lol. :p

Sometimes I work in a restaurant. They would never allow me to vape there if they knew.

I vape in the walk-in cooler. When you are in there you can see your breath, so if caught, anyone would assume it was that. It's actually really convenient, as it is located where I would be anyways if I had nothing to do. A busser caught me once on a really big exhale, thought I was smoking w**d, but he was in there to steal a beer, so we left each other silently. It was pretty funny.

I'm a full-time student and full-time shift manager at Dunkin Donuts. Hopefully I'll be a store manager sometime soon. My boss is a smoker, so he's thrilled to have my 5v 510 PT living in our store's office. New employees always do a double take when they see us "smoking" inside the store.

I vape in the walk-in cooler.
Under my last manager I had to do the same thing.

I'm a Photographer, mostly Youth League & High School Sports but, leading up to the '08 Olympics I was the photographer for the US National Water Polo Team (the Men's and Woman's teams, both got home with Silver Metals, the men were ecstatic, the women were ......). I also shoot for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

When I'm not shooting I do PHP based web development.

...seeing that most of the time i work with kids, the fact that I no longer smell like an ashtray has been a big plus...

I do accounting/payroll/IT....whatever needs to be done for an Owner/Operator of a very well-known fast food chain. I am the only person actually in the office full time, but at any time there could be all 6 of us there...owner, his 2 grown children who are supervisors, office manager/bookkeeper, part-time admin assistant and myself. I have been the only smoker in the office since I started working there, and have always gotten light-hearted grief about quitting. All of them were very supportive of my switch to a pv and I even have it out on my desk. If I really need a heavy nic fix, I will go to the bathroom, take 4-5 puffs and come back to my desk, but I haven't had an issue taking a puff at my desk either. the bookkeeper does have kids, and 1 of them is in the office daily, I will not use it in front of him just to avoid mom being bombarded by questions.

I'm an Occupational Therapist working in rehab. The medical community is turning pro E-cig rapidly and I vape @ my desk. I went to the Administrator the first day I started vaping and showed him what it was. There is an avid rule against smoking anywhere other than the designated smoking area, nothing has ever been said to me about my vaping other than how well I have done quitting. To be honest I never thought of it as quitting, I thought it was more like just changing brands!

I do vape at work, certainly. I vape in my office with the door closed. That's the only place I have chosen to vape so far, even though I work with a smoker. I close my door because my office is off of a very busy hallway. Never know who's gonna walk by and either make assumptions and start rumors or 'report' me for smoking inside. That would suck.

My boss (who knows I'm vaping in my office) still smokes and has to walk out to the road to do so. I almost have him convinced that vaping is a great thing. A few more times of him asking 'wanna go smoke?' and me saying 'nah, I'm good...just had one' and I think he'll cave. :D He asked me to show him how an e-cig works today. Progress!

I am a forklift operator. I work in a warehouse shipping out parts for Mack and Volvo trucks. A few weeks ago, I could go out for a smoke pretty much whenever I wanted, but then they decided to crack down on the already existing "no smoking" policy that said we could only go outside to smoke during breaks. 3 hours was just too long for me, so I bought my electronic cigarette to use inside while I worked.

Well, my union rep asked me for some paperwork to prove it's safe to use inside to avoid a hassle down the road, so I gave him the website with the results of the testing done in New Zealand(i think...) This went to the plant manager who passed it along to his boss, and they have now said that until they decide on a new policy, electronic cigarettes would be considered "smoking facsimiles" and fall under the "no smoking" policy.

Drats! So now I'm not supposed to use it inside and have to wait for my breaks again. I just slip into a narrow aisle, hide it in my hand, and hold the vapor long enough so that it is nearly invisible when I exhale. My immediate supervisors think it's dumb that I can't use it inside anyway, and they'd have a hell of a time proving I was.

I am an EMS pilot and basically I sit in a hospital room that is our office all day unless we get a call, I contain my vaping to my room for the most part (no need to seek trouble out) but when folks come to visit I don't cover it up and when they ask what it is I show them. My USB PT is hooked up all the time. No objections so far. NO I do not vape while I am flying. Flying a helo is a two handed job for a 407

I'm a machinist/programmer, very stressful. Most shops in this area allow smoking or overlook smoking inside for machinists.

I was allowed to chain smoke inside before I used an e-cig. So no problem with the e-cig. However, several other smokers at my shop are looking into e-cigs since I've started. One non-smoker already has his wife a kit and is encouraging her to do it.

My boss's response has been very positve.
