Just so tired of the expense, smell, and frustration of being a smoker in a non-smoking world! I've tried to quit so many times before, but the food cravings and depression triggered by lack of nicotine always drove me back to analogs. I did some research on e-cigs, and realized that it's the best of all possible worlds for me right now - I get the hand-to-mouth action that I had with cigs, plus the delivery of nicotine! And no smell ... food cravings are gone ... exercising is much easier now ... now I just need to get myself dialed into the right set up and I'll be a very happy camper.

i have only been vaping for a matter of days...previously i had a cheapo market ecig bought whimsically. More recently a friend had been using a ego type one and i would often take a few hits when indoors with him. I was very pleasantly surprised with the TH...seemed n a different level in comparision. Decided i wanted to cut back a small bit, although now with my new device have cut back a big bit...apart from maybe one in the morning actually have preferred sticking with the vapes

I adore smoking, but I don't do it that often due to all the downsides. Aside from the obvious long term health risks, I don't like how I smell afterward and it can make my throat and lungs feel horrible if I overindulge. If I buy a pack, I feel like I should finish it. Silly, I know. So I end up smoking for several days and feeling like crap by the end of it.

I've been feeling the siren song of nicotine lately for a couple reasons. I am under a bit of stress with family stuff. My father died about a year ago (lung cancer, though he had quite tobacco 30 years ago) and I've been finishing up the estate affairs. Between my siblings bickering, estate red tape, work, and volunteer work, I figure it's this, stinkies, or drink myself silly.

Plus, I have a few new projects which are going to involve extensive study time. That is a huge smoking trigger for me. The only times in my life when I was a daily smoker were when I was in University or otherwise taking classes. My college years were fueled by caffeine and nicotine. To this day, if I pick up a tech book, I immediately feel the lack of a cigarette in my hand.

Hi there, I'd been trying to quit for the second successive year, usual story... cut down but never actually stopped. Had seen peeps with the usual starter ecigs but never actually gave them much recognition. Then was randomly surfing one day and saw a basic starter kit - prefilled carts, which i bought on a whim, not really knowing how or if it would work, back in the middle of may (one for my son too but he didnt get it... hubby got there first). Now we are all smoke free, hubby has bought several gadgets including Riva 510 and i have a stuck with the R 510.

Happy to be smoke free, never thought it could happen :)

about 2 weeks ago i was working on a friends motorcycle (he had melted his wiring harness) after pealing the harness and replacing many wires and reinstalling the discussion of payment arose... i stated that it was a hookup and no payment was necessary... as we were talking he took a toke on his ego... i asked him what it was he was hitting and he proceeded to tell me about vaping and how he used to be a heavy smoker... with myself being a heavy smoker as well as chewing tobacco it intrigued me... i inquired as to how much an e-cig would cost and i said "if you realy feel you must pay me, i will take an ego instead of money." .... that ego lasted 2 days before i realized i needed something better.... luckily on the 5th day my new mod arived (apex ultra) because on the 6th day my ego broke due to chain vaping...

My neighbor recommend me a e cig. I was smoking a analog outside when he told me and showed me his joye egot. He told me it works for him. He gave me a card to Wasatchvapor. So i decided to buy one but after 2 months is when i bought my 510t starter kit. It works for me. Glad i stop smoking cigs. Been clean for almost 1 month now.

For me it was guilt. Guilt about hiding smoking from my wife, guilt about harming myself and not being around for my 11 year old son, guilt about not being strong enough to just quit the analogs.

A contractor at work (2 pack a day dude) showed me the Blu cigs he used when on a plane. He said that it got him over the craving he was experiencing while on a long flight. He still smokes analogs though :(

I did some research and ended up buying the V2 starter kit. After I received my kit I went back and forth between the e-cigs and analogs for a couple of days until I ran out of the analogs. Even though the V2 wasn't exactly like an analog (thank goodness!) I didn't think I needed to buy another pack of smokes and didn't.

Later that same week, I found ECF and almost wore out the search function researching everything I could about vaping. After I formulated an idea of what I wanted to achieve I drove down to a brick and mortar, not too far from my home, and purchased an eGo Twist, DC4 and a couple of bottles of juice.

Since that day I haven't had the urge to smoke ANY analogs. I have moved from a nasty habit to an enjoyable hobby that I think I can literally live with.

Congratulations to everyone that has made the change!

I would like to hear what got everybody started on their e-cig journey. It could be a friend, relative, a good advertisement, ect. What was your first kit you bought and what are you using now?

For me It all started with a FREE disposable e-cig, I thought what the heck Its worth a shot, Been smoke free ever since and that was over a month ago, From a 20YR heavy smoker to a vaper In the blink of an eye, Just wish I had known about It sooner.

I had wanted to quit stinkies for years. Nothing worked! Tried gum, patches, chantix, nothing worked. My 3 great-nephews had quit using Volcano Infernos. When I expressed interest, my sister (their grandmother ) bought one for me.
I used it and never smoked another cigarette, after 55 years of smoking. I feel that my relatives, quite literally, saved my life and I eternally grateful.

A friend of mine cut back from a pack to a couple cigarettes a day using a cheap e-cig from a gas station. One week later I find a coupon for 50% off vapage.com so I picked up a VMod XL. Three days later I went from a 1-1.5 pack a day smoker to smoke free.

I cannot believe that it took me this long to try them. I tell every smoker I know about how well it worked for me.

I have the weather channel as a homepage on my comp. To the right of my forecast, there was an ad that said E-Cigs EXPOSED. I click on it, they were offering a trial kit for 5.95. Curiosity got the better of me. So I ordered it. I got POed when I found out that I had enrolled in some plan of theirs and cancelled but the e-cig worked! When I ran out of juice. I picked my analogs back up, started doing research, and bought a kit I could live with for a while. Have been analog free for about a month now.

told the story in my intro thread, but I met a very nice lady in one of the ATL airport smoking rooms who was vaping and she got me interested. I started with and I'm still using 2 Riva 1100 mAh batteries with whatever clearos I find locally, usually some variant of Stardust clearo.

I have 2 1000 mAh Ego Twists and 2 Mini Vivi Nova tanks in transit from Gotvapes and I'm really looking forward to seeing the difference. I'm using this new setup to nail down my Juice and tank preferences and then I'll move up to either the ProVari or Lavatube V2 in a few months to vape at home while keeping the twists for when I travel.

Started on elites through a affiliate who came into my work and made a big fuss about asking where the plugs were ( obviously to advertise it ) after a brief conversation I paid about 40 quid for the starter pack consisted of one battery 3 piece design and a 5 pack of cartridges didn't work nowhere near as well as I'd hoped but peaked my interest after some research FYI dangerous thing to type best ecig into google but ended up with greensmoke then intellicig when I found a shop near mine that sold them then VIP ecig none of them hit the nail so went back to analogs drove past a actual shop on my way to work not a kiosk or small display in a shop so had a look in walked away with a ego c starter kit then moved up to ego c twists then lavatube then about two weeks after bought my first provari and looking at that post I've just realised how much money I've given to baling fully commited now lol

I moved into a new house, painted the walls bright yellow, and bought white upholstered furniture. That first night it was all done, i sat on my shiny white couch looking at my bright yellow walls, lit a cig, and thought, "This will all be brown in 3 months."

Randomly, the next day I stopped into a convenience store that had e-cigs on the counter. I had looked into e-cigs previously, but they were expensive. These were cheap. But the batteries weren't in stock at that place, so I went home, googled, found ECF, and bought an Ego. It was meh. So I bought a Missy's Wet Box, with the idea that if that worked for me, I'd invest in a REO Mini. And that is what I did.

After being a 1-2 PPD smoker for 38 years, I haven't had or wanted a cig in almost 2 years. I feel better, I don't cough anymore, my clothes don't have burn holes, and when people visit my house, they always comment on how nice it smells.

Next purchases: A VV Grand and an ERA.

I had a couple of friends who started vaping and I asked alot of ?'s and I had alot of knowledge on e-cigs before I ever decided to try it. My first purchase was a mod, a Smok VMAX and some DCT tanks. I now own 2 VMAX's, an Ego K, an Ego passthrough, and a mod I built out of an Altoids box. My favorite setup is a VMAX with a Vivi Nova or Vivi Nova mini.
