Shipping was $36??? Why?

International rates... Which I think is a load of bull going to Canada, but it is what it is...

As far as finding a topper you like BEFORE getting a ProVari... I have to respectfully disagree with this theory... I honestly don't have one topper that performs on a Vamo / Lavatube / ZMax the same as it does on a ProVari... And that's been a fairly large variety of toppers...

As for why you should get a ProVari... IMO it's one of the toughest, most consistent mods out there. Rock solid performance, heavy duty construction, top quality materials, USA made, industry leading customer service and warranty support...

And with all of that, they hold their value very well...

Say, just for giggles, you buy one and decide that you just don't like it... You can turn around and sell it on the classies here on ECF... It will be sold within 24 hours (likely much quicker than that) and you only have to shed maybe 10% off retail... So you can sell it all day long any day of the week and maybe lose $20... So even if it's just an experiment, I would say it's worth the $20 "rental fee" even if you only keep it for a week...

If you want vv that vapes well and just keeps on going year after the Porvari is it. Aside from the quality there is nothing outstanding about it.

You forgot the warranty and customer service. Those are all the reasons this little old ocelot bought one. I wanted a device that worked every time I picked it up and could get fixed if it didn't. I don't need bells and whistles or go for "extreme" or complicated vaping.

First of all I am not try to convince you to buy a ProVari, you need to do that yourself.
Go the other individual mod sections and read them. There are some that get good reports. Look for problems they have or don't have.
Go to YouTube watch the reviews on them and compare them to the ProVari.
Make up your own mind.

If you want a ProVari, you'll probably eventually get one. Top reason for me, build quality. Icing on the cake, built in U.S.A, comes with an USABLE one year warranty, can be extended to two, ProVape will also service it after the warranty for a reasonable charge. ProVari does use a better voltage regulation system, many can taste the difference, sadly I am not one of them.

It does what it does very well, doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. If you don't want one, you don't have to buy one, it is that simple.

those are called "options" and are personal preference, which always adds the initial cost of anything

True - options - that do come standard with most of the cheaper PVs......an extension imo should be standard and not an option....but - still worth it....leds etc to me are options......but hey - like I said - just my opinion - not trying to get into an argument......after all it is Christmas day.............

I said I didnt wanna argue - I agree LED color is an option and should be extra. Extender however - should be included...

who's arguing ???

Ego should come extended also ??

fyi,,the original provari didn't have the ext option,,that came later to allow for those that wanted the option of a bigger battery

If you've found a couple of juices you really like and don't switch around very much, another unit you might look into is the Reo. It's built like a tank, US made, has great customer service and a devoted following. It's a bottom-feeder, a completely different system than a ProVari, so they complement each other nicely should you decide to get both at some point.

Too bad you can't screw on that bottom feeder onto a provari.

Because he is in Canada ? Wow......feeling bad for you for the shipping and duty. Its free shipping in the lower 48.......Then again, when I ordered my Semovar from Cloud 9 in the UK, they got me for a nice shipping charge and their VAT Tax as well...to the tune of almost 50 bucks extra if memory serves.

VAT should not be applicable to sales outside the EU.

That's what I thought. I've never had to pay VAT for things I buy from sellers in the UK. Not that they can't charge whatever they want for shipping but that doesn't include VAT tax.

For the OP: I just like that they consistently work well. There's no fiddling around with stuff to make it work. The hardest thing is unscrewing the bottom to replace the battery.

VAT should not be applicable to sales outside the EU.

I agree, but Cloud 9 did it and even sent me an email back when I inquired why they do it....since I live here. Dont want to derail the thread, but I didnt think that was very "up and up" of them.

I wanted the full kit and they seemed to be the only game in town...so to speak.

I am thinking about buying a provari. I would like to know what is so great about this mod that I should spend 200 dollars on it?

I would love to know...convince me.

It has nothing to do with the fact that it's an amazing device. It has everything to do with the community support from the owners of the Provari. I have never met such a nice group of intelligent people who actually are here to help. I think the Provari price tag weeds out the bad seeds, tbh.

the reo only uses RBA correct? I like cartos and tanks....not into building coils.
