Hey Kent - can you describe a bit more the top-folded PTB on the 801? That one I haven't tried yet. Had bad results on the "normal" PTB for an 801. Had good results with Blue Foam. But I'm intrigued with the top fold if it wicks and doesn't leak.
The top fold is folding the very top - I do two folds - then roll - I do the folded edge out so there's nothing for the bridge to hang on in the center - I use a toothpick - rolling it into a small tube - insert - it 'expands' to where there's a hole in the center where the high bridge will go. See the 2nd video down here:

Oddly you can't 'shake out' the juice even though it looks like it's 'free' in the center' and like vid says, the folds do 'hold' more juice than the lower unfolded part and I do make two cuts in the lower part but I don't think it matters. lol
PTB doesnt wick - just dip it in any liquid - it doesn't rise - it holds juice in much the same way the screen mod holds juice. It's all gravity from there. Polyfill does wick some with the finer threads even though they are both made out of the same stuff PET. I actually linked that Fluval foam once but retracted it on further investigation. The 20oz polyfil or the same density fluval is better for wicking, imo - not as 'neat' as the foam ;-) though.
If you lay the PTB ecig on a paper towel it will "leak". If you don't, it won't - is what I've found with the top folded mod. I lay mine horizontally accross a fluted edge dish/small platter [that was made for my ecigs by a potter friend. She could sell these.] All the others leaked and the first vertically folded mod would dry out so much just over night that you could take it out and it would maintain it's vert. fold very stiffly - you could stand it up... or at least that was my experience - that plus the leakage made me abandon it completely and even the top fold mod is still 'in evaluation' but so far working. I only have it on two 510's and one Janty stick.
That said... the best Janty Stick method is Elendil's trick - 'needle tip squeeze bottle'. Filling from the bottom up on such a large cart, pushes what would normally be the 'old juice' to the top, so you're doing modified FIFO recycling and the old bottom juice never has a chance to get rank and if you're using a tobacco based juice it can make even a smooth Virginia taste rather nasty by just 'topping off'. I found even the straw mod didn't work as well with the JS as it did with the 510.
So I keep that in mind with the top folded PTB using gravity or Deadcat's 'windmill/thermometer' move, to recycle the juice in the PTB.
Way too much info... lol ..but for those that need the full explanation rather than just 'USE PTB!' ... now you know why, but only from my pov - ie. grain of salt, etc. ;-)
