Standard 510 (standard battery) on right.. 520 on left:

(Or so I am told)

Looks to me that one is the standard 510 battery and one is the mega 510 battery?

Well I received my 520 today from Wordup E-Cig Super Store. It's basically a 510 with an extended length battery on it. The atty is one of those 'new' ones with the flat washer on the bottom of it. The manual inside refers to the unit as a 510.

So it's the same diameter and thread pattern as a 520? (In other words, the pictures are wrong..?)

pics are wrong,... all that is, is different attys, one has more gold than the other.... my 510 mega battery is longer than my 510 standard batteries....

youtube this... (can't post links yet)

Joye 510 Titan Blu Fluval Cart Mod E-Cig

at the end of the video I switch the batteries and attys from the 510 standard (2-3hrs)and the 510 mega battery(4.5-7hrs). They are interchangeable.

Unless there really is a 520 battery the same size as the 510 standard!

I'm familiar with the 510... I own a few of them. I'm familiar with the Mega battery. I own a few of them.

What I want to know is: was the early press release correct or incorrect. Is the 520 the same diameter as the 510 and does it use the same atty.

The 520 that wordup sells is the same diameter as a 510. The guy that sells them claims up and down that they are a genuine Joye 520. But to me it's looks like your standard clone SLB 510 atty with the round washer in it and a mega sized battery. The mega battery is the same size as the mega batteries I've bought from TW. No where on the packaging does it refer to the unit as being a '520'. The manual, and it's different from the Joye 510 manuals I have, calls the device a 510 but once again doesn't refer to it as a Joye. The parts are compatible with all my other Joye 510 carts and batteries.

As to that French web site where there is a video of the '520', who knows? I don't know if that is made by Joye. I know of one vendor who received for testing a '520' and he told me that it was the same size length as your standard 510 but .6mm smaller in diameter. That agrees with the picture posted above from the French web site. If you look closely you can see that the one on the left is smaller in diameter.

So that's all I can tell you. Hopefully more info will come out in the future...

Well, if the diameter is smaller on the 520, I would think that means you couldn't use a 510 atomizer, or can you?

If you are referring to my post I think I might need to clarify my comments.

The 520 pictured in this thread and reviewed on that French web site is the same length as a standard 510, but smaller in diameter. I don't know of anyone who actually owns one or a supplier who sells one.

The 520 I received is just a normal diameter 510 with a longer mega battery on it.

So at this point we are talking about 2 different types of 520s. Hopefully the 'real' 520 will come to light someday.

It sure looks like the Titan Mega 510 from TW. I have several of those. IMHO, what is better than a 510 atty would be a 510 atty that has a consistent lifetime. I have copper attys from TW that have been working for several weeks, and some black ones that bought the farm in less than a week. Of course, it could be that I was mistreating them...flooding and clogging them a lot from failed cart mods, soaking them in 100 proof vodka (maybe I shouldn't), and running them too hot. Now I'm using the facial sponge mod, which is really awesome, and they are acting like they are going to last a while. The filler wicks really well, no little threads, and holds the fluid correctly, so no leaks or floods. It just seems they are working better with less effort, so hopefully they will last longer. Education can be expensive, but live and learn.

So, I'm still a relative newb. Been vaping on the 510 and enjoying it--I don't really smoke analogs anymore unless I'm at a bar.

I'm wondering what model e-cig is a step up from the 510. Maybe something that doesn't require as much maintenance and gives better performance. The 510 works for more OK, but it seems like the perforance is going way down as it doesn't hit as well anymore even with the battery charged and the atty cleaned.--I don't know if I need to get new attys or if my batteries are not charging fully anymore.

I don't mind spending around $70 on something if it is a noticeable improvement. So, recommendations please!! ;)

IMHO you could go the the Janty Stick(uses the 801), the 801, or now my preference - the Xhaler from Nhaler. It allows you to use the 510, 801, 901 or cartomizers at the same voltage you use now. Or you can experiece the higher voltage vaping with the Xhaler that will blow your mind.:D and some attys if you are not careful.
