Well, did the interview today and managed to keep the dogs confined and bark free. Dr Brad Rodu was following me up so it will be interesting to see what he says following my interview. Went pretty well once I got them to get me out of Viet Nam and corrected Denise's claim that I had tried to quit 2,000 times rather than two dozen. lol

Can't figure out how to get rid of the "X"'d out link though.
When you go to update signature, it is there, but you can't see it. Just click around until you find it, (it will be about the same size as the X currently in your signature), then hit the delete button. I had the same problem. It is nothing to do with ECF, it is something Nicoticket did to stop the counters.

Thank you Burnie! I tried to find what you were talking about and couldn't but I backspaced thru the entire signature, previewed and it was gone. Saved it and then rebuilt the banner and all is good.
Whatever works :)
Your banner really makes me think what mine would be if I hadn't fallen off the vape wagon in 2010. I had to restart it in 2013 when I started vaping full time again.

Figured I'd update my signature since I basically forgot when I quit smoking. Looks like I'm coming up on five years which I find amazing. I really liked smoking and thought I'd never quit. Took a doctor scare to get me to reconsider and research vaping. Then it took me finding you guys to get me over the hump and try snus to drop the last couple of cigs that I couldn't seem to shake. Couldn't have done it without snus, you guys, and some smart Swedish sumsabiches!

My old lady still smokes and I just bought her a carton of Marlboro's for $53.80. That said, while in New York I bought her a single pack for over $10. I was getting Camel's for a touch under $5 when I quit tobacco for good (2012). Michigan has more lenient taxation I suppose.

Got my outdoor winter prep done last weekend. Garden hoses and sump pump extension line drained and put away, lawn mower replaced snow thrower in the pole barn, and ran the thrower and generator and bit to make sure they start easy when/if I need them.

Didn't avoid my yearly mistake of spending a half hour trying to start the snow thrower before I remember to turn the fuel valve back on. I'll offer up my yearly excuse that it's in an obscure location and isn't readily seen when you're starting it normally. At least I always remember the fuel valve on the generator after that.

We also found a small leak in the plumbing where all the drains for the bathrooms come together in the basement. Got a guy coming out tomorrow to take a look at it. Hopefully it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to repair.

How are you guys still able to buy cigarettes for $4 (Burnie) and $5 (Rebel)? I use $6.25 and the actual cost today is over $8 a pack today. When I quit in '10 they were close to $6 and I've been pretty conservative in increasing my average.
I was smoking generic cigs, hoping I would hate the taste and quit, didn't work, just stopped people from bumming a cig  I was buying 2 cartons a week for just under $80, so I just put $4 a pack & 50 cigs a day. It is more costly today than it was then, but the figures are close for me. I do also track what I have spent to date, $7242.29, so the savings is not totally correct, but I haven't made a purchase since July (a want not a need) and could go for several years and not spend I dime. Yes, I am prepared for the Deeming Regs.

Burnie, it sounds like you're super prepared for the deeming regs. Most of us here are on the snus wagon. I, for one, have enough liquid for the little I vape anymore to last me the rest of my life, either premixed or DIY. I used to track what I spent on my "stuff" but stopped doing that when my yearly cost became less that I was spending every two weeks for cigarettes. I instead tracked what I spent on motorcycles, I have 5, and consider my cigarette savings going to pay for that addiction. lol I'm still paying off the 5th one.

As far as the deeming regs are concerned, I don't think they'll ever do what the FDA wants to happen. As long as there is an internet and global commerce, there will be a way.

@rothenbj could I ask what snus you would recommend? I have thought about trying it, but there are a lot of choices, and with importing the Swedish snus it is not cheep. I have gotten so many e juice that I could not vape, I would not want to go down the same road with snus, I hate wasting money. Wish there was a sample pack with a couple of pouches of different ones so I could try them, ever seen such a thing?

My wife still smokes and I stopped on the way home to get her a carton. Camel menthol are about $42 a carton here.

Burnie, a lot of places in the states carry general brand snus. The mint is what I use most of the time. All I keep on hand is mint and thunder raspberry. I do still have several cans left of the gingerbread I bought last year but can't get used to the taste. If you'd like to try a can of each of the three I have then shoot me a pm with your address and I'll send you some to try.

I'm not Roth but I'll toss my opinion out there.

SnusCentral has sampler mixes available like a new snuser mix and a mint sampler and a few others. The shipping cost is indeed hard to swallow unless you're buying in bulk and know what you like.

If you haven't found a local store that sells General snus, I think their website has a store locator. The General original/white, mint, and wintergreen are usually available and would be a good way to try it out without shelling out for shipping.

That said I could send ya a few cans of random stuff from my stash if you'd be interested. I've fallen out of love with General mint and have some Grov white along with some things I didn't care for in the freezer.

I will say this @Burnie , snus is really an acquired taste if you're not familiar with it. It can be a bit overwhelming at first try. But persistence pays great dividends for those who have found vaping to be less than satisfying when it comes to cravings. I was one of those individuals who could never fully embrace vaping as a sole means of quitting smoking. Snus, specifically Swedish snus, was my savior. But it took a while for me to condition myself and my upper lip to the, shall we say, experience of snus. For me, the salt used in the snus was a bit of an irritant at first. I could only use a pouch for short periods until my gums got use to it. But that faded fairly quickly and now a pouch lasts me about three hours. As the others have said, General snus is a good start and usually available locally. Mini mint is ideal for a beginner but hard to find. The other flavors are regular size. General White, Mint, and Wintergreen are dry pouches and take some time to develop the flavor. General Original is a moist pouch with good tobacco flavor right from the start. Word of caution, don't let these guys tell you that General Wintergreen is a good snus, it isn't. Most vile concoction on the planet and should be banned in all states except Ohio cause I'm from Michigan and we hate Ohio. ;)

Wintergreen is one of the only snus that I've tried and threw in the garbage. OTD liked it and talked me into trying it. I tried several times to like it but it was just horrible.

I started vaping and after several months was able to quit smoking but felt myself slipping into depression and started smoking some again. It's been a long drawn out battle over the last eight years for me. I think a lot of my problem was/is mental rather than physical. I finally quit beating myself up over every slip and came to a compromise where I allow myself one cigarette in the morning and then vape and snus the rest of the day. I know it's not quitting but it's the best solution I've been able to come up with and and stick with. I think it's been two or three years now.

Not much into wintergreen Anything, so that won't be a problem. :)
