My wife has an undercut that she wants reshaved every few weeks. She goes to the salon for recolor/cut then the local barbershop with $5 buzz cuts to get the side redone in between. She was going to attempt it herself with scissors and comb and I volunteered to do it with my beard trimming stuff. Cleaned up some split ends while I was at it. She was unconcerned about me totally screwing the pooch since we're not going anywhere anyway.

Good morning people's, I've been lurking for a while now and have been reading some of the mayhem the cov19 has created for most of us. It just hurts my heart more and more every day. I just want to say stay safe and bless you all..

It's good that you decided to post. There haven't been any new faces around here in a while.

Looks like my snus order is set to be delivered today. Says it still requires an adult signature, curious to see if that will be the case today with the current circumstances. This order should last me the rest of the year and save me a chunk of money. Time to make room in the freezer.

Seems some hardcore Michigan gardeners rose up against the system yesterday in Lansing. I didn't pay much attention but it was all over the news. Didn't look like they were practicing safe distancing but I guess they got their message across. Won't change anything but I'm glad they got a chance to get out of the house, possibly get infected, and take it home to their families. Idiots...

In better news, my body control module for the wife's vehicle showed up yesterday. It's been sitting for almost two weeks now since I replaced the power steering pump. Wouldn't start afterwards, had it towed to a shop that wanted $700 to fix it, had it towed back home, and bought a new one online for $200. Took me all of ten minutes to unplug the old one and install the new one. Turned the key and it fired right up. Back to having two cars and it saved me some cash. My little victory...

I got an order last week and with my dumb luck, the first day they tried to deliver it, my wife decided to go grocery shopping. They didn't leave it and came back the next day and it did require an adult signature.

Congrats on the car repair. It always feels good to do something yourself and save a few bucks along the way. I can't imagine what it would have cost to have a garage do the struts and sway bar links on my daughter's car. I did have my brother in law helping/guiding me but ended up done for $250 in parts.

I kind of wish I had not bought the equivalent of 8 months of all white snus for like 300 bucks it arrived a couple days ago. I thought I would need it and I was just like "order a bunch" because with all the crazy, I figured it was smart. Oh well. I will use it sometime I suppose. I need to shove it in the freezer.

I'm not going to mourn too deeply hindsight it 20-20.

Just a bunch of all white G4 in mint and Cryo or whatever that flavor is called, mostly that one it is my favorite.

G4 (as far as I can tell) is the only "all white" maker who uses actual tobacco not "nicotine extract onto sawdust) and it does have the alkaloids in it. Made my work life so much easier. I think I will shove the entire package in the freezer because I will be using it, I expect to have SOME work in 6 months if I begin to apply myself, but you know well, how it is, I'm trying not to even think about it yet.

I got so much because I (mistakenly) finally thought things were fine.

Well there was no signing required. The UPS guy just walked it up to the porch, asked me my name and set it down. I asked about signing but he said that they are not letting people touch the scanners these days which makes sense. 4 rolls in the freezer and no more hunting around gas stations for a while. Heck I haven't had to put gas in my car in three weeks to visit a station anyway. Kind of wish I did, we're at $1.10 a gallon right now. Twenty bucks would fill my car up with cash left over. The wife's car has a 30 gallon tank. I remember a few summers ago putting a $100 in and not even filling it. Crazy these days...

Our gas isn't quite as low. I stopped and filled up two days ago and it was $1.52 but that is the lowest I've seen. I'm still going through a tank about every week and a half since I'm still driving to work.

When gas drops below a dollar I NEED someone to take a pic and post signage. I swore it would never happen again in my lifetime. It was when I was at a U2 concert that was so LOUD It made me vibrate and I was like super pregnant at the time. I wound up outside and like wrapped in everyone's coats and blankets leaning against the car.

I do blame that concert for why my kid likes rap music.

BUT like, I saw this gas station that said 0.99 cents and I was like "WHUT?" the I realized it was all dilapidated and messed up and dead. And I was like, "Anna, you will not see that again."

Our gas is still relatively expensive at 2 something a gallon but AZ is not that hard hit and Cochise county, well many people TRAVEL, like to an hour or more to work. I can't even imagine but I have been spoiled for a long time.

Interestingly the town I chose to move to is RIGHT near the Navajo reservation, well one I guess. I suppose if I needed an actual job, I have tons of reservation experience. It might be fun getting to know the Navajo nation but that is more of a back up plan....

Here in Taxelvania we're still over $2 but fuel oil prices are down to $1.45 and I'm watching it daily to look for a fill up as late and as inexpensive as I can get it. I have an oil water heater so I use some in the summer but nothing like my electric water heater used to cost. My buddy just locked in 1,200 gallons for this year to June at $2.24 a gallon. I realized how much I save burning wood. I filled up in Oct or Nov at the latest and still have half a 275 gallon tank left and I spent $200 for a load of pallet end wood and I still have half that left because of the mild winter.

I was out in our yard yesterday spraying around the foundation for ants and found a baby possum dead on the side of the house. I know they aren't pets or anything but it was kind of cute and I felt bad for it. When I put it in a bag to put out with the garbage, the face was looking up at me from inside the bag. I'm just not great dealing with dead animals. I still remember how it felt to pick up our cat when he died a couple years ago.

We have an outdoor cat that we caught in a live trap that kept having kittens under our deck. We took her to the vet to get fixed and they said she was too feral to adopt out so we brought her home and let her out. We’ve been feeding her ever since. She comes to the back door and looks in to let us know she’s ready to eat. She’ll come close but still won’t let us touch her. It’s been at least a couple years now.

We had a semi feral cat when we lived at the farmhouse, but like, she'd let you pet her in the right mood. I think she had been domesticated at one point. I gave her to the ex husband when we moved, because I had no place to send her. He said he would rehabilitate her, and he did. She was placed in the house and he did not see her for about 5-6 weeks and after that she came out and was like a normal cat.

IDK you'd be surprised what you can do, which in his case was nothing, just let her get used to her environment. We were worried about outdoors like, because he lived near a highway for one, and also, like, we were worried she would try to find her way "home."

It takes work to get a feral cat to warm up. I think it was a year. I'd set the food out and sit there until he came close and ate. Then I'd touch his head while he was eating. Thirst time I did, I was fully expecting he might scratch me but he just cowered away a bit then went back to eating.

After months he would brush up against me and hee liked being petted. The biggest leap of faith was the first time I lifted him up. That could have gotten nasty real quick but he just got that look of how can I escape?

By year three, he had no problem being lifted and I could get him to sit on my lap being petted for a few minutes but that was the best I ever did. I think it was year four, after a long winter, he left and was gone. Something got him because he was as healthy as he ever was after living outside all winter.

Anna, I wondered about that with Tomcat. He might have had a family briefly. I know I saw him in the woods in front of my house for over a year before he finally showed up on my deck. I know he really liked the petting but absolutely had no interest in being in the house. I forced him in a couple times when we had sub zero days but he hid the whole time until he saw the slider opened and he made the dash. I finally built him a box with a heated pad that he really liked.

Some tradesmen and team leaders are scheduled to report back to work Monday to attempt to create a safe restart plan. It'll be interesting to see how they deal with the physical separation thing when we're all stacked on top of each other. It's sounding like even if they do figure something out, it would be one shift voluntary for a while. We can't run much if our suppliers which were already behind aren't running at capacity either. I'd just as well sit at home as I'm getting paid more to be home than work 40 hours currently.

My computer is coming up on 6 years old, which for a gaming machine is pretty much ancient. My Mom's computer decided to fry to the motherboard a few days ago, so I took advantage of PC components being on sale to build a new rig and give my Mom my old one. I bought new case last week on whim since it was 40% off which is scheduled to arrive Monday, so I splurged on overnight shipping (Monday delivery) for the rest of the guts. Hopefully they'll all show up and it'll give me something to do for a week.
