Darn, I just looked. It's just under 58 degrees with an RH of 51% in here just a bit before 7 AM. Now I have a short sleeved shirt on and a blanket on my legs but if I'm comfortable now, why would I be dressed heavier in winter but feel cold? Curious minds want to know.

Yeah Hitt, you've got an issue with the Fib. The sensitivity to changes in temp are an issue. It's a shame, it must be awful to live with. Is there anything that helps her with it?

I just noticed I missed an event. I just went over the $60,000 mark on savings from not smoking and I haven't adjust cigarette cost in a number of years. The cost is now up over $8 a pack. I'll bet I could throw another .25-.50 a pack on the calculation. I think the average was $7 a pack the last time I adjusted.

She is on cymbalta that’s supposed to help with it and has some other meds that are supposed to help. The worst right now is she has developed chronic migraine headaches. I think she is on the third or fourth different medicine that is supposed to reduce the number of them but I honestly don’t know how much it helps. Luckily each has given a free year of injections. Even with insurance they are $550 each per month. There’s no way we could afford that. She has fast melt tablets that she takes if she feels the start of one. It takes usually an hour or so to take affect but doesn’t always work.

I was having stomach issues the weekend before last but felt better by Tuesday of last week. Then this past weekend I went downstairs to exercise and was feeling really weak about halfway through. I figured I hadn't eaten enough so went up and had an early lunch. It really didn't get better and I felt hungry all day no matter how much I ate. Sunday was a little better. I came into work yesterday and was feeling tired and a little weak so went ahead and made a doctors appointment. He said he was sure it wasn't Covid and sent me to the lab for blood work. He said that maybe I got a stomach virus that was lingering. I suppose it'll take a few days to get the lab results back. I've been a bad boy and haven't been in for a physical for the last 2-3 years and the doctor reminded me of that and suggested I get one soon. I don't really see the point really if they are going to do the lab now. It should tell me where I'm at.

Yes, it means you have slightly high cholesterol but for the love of God do not be tricked into cholesterol meds unless they are the bile sequestrants (Zetia, welchol.) DO NOT TAKE THE OTHER STUFF IT IS EVIL AND BAD.

Also if it's slightly high your doc will recommend diet and exercise changes probably, first.

He did recommend that. He didn’t mention medicine. He did suggest a stress test but I declined. I have crappy insurance and would have to pay through the nose for the test. Besides, I don’t think it’s necessary. I already try to exercise a few times a week but am going to try harder and pay a little closer attention to what I’m eating.

Anyone ever notice Ice in General Mint? Every can I open has Ice on one side (I store it in the freezer on it's side). No other snus has Ice in them, Just the General Mint.

I made it home and looked at the new unit in the basement. They did a nice job. I went outside to see the new ac and about fell over. It’s about 2.5 times bigger than the old unit. It’s a SEER 16 instead of a 14 but I don’t know if that’s why it’s bigger.

Hello snusers! The new AC is working great and the wife is very happy with it. She went to the dentist a couple days ago for a cleaning and has a cavity for the first time in forever. She also needs two crowns but has known about that for a while and has been putting it off. She said she wants to wait until at least September which is good since it'll give us a chance to save a little more. My work doesn't offer dental insurance but I pay for a discount plan through Aetna on my own. It's still going to be super expensive to get two done at the same time. Besides that, I have to take my youngest daughter's car Saturday morning to get new tires put on and an alignment. It's just been one big expense after another. Oh well, I guess that's why we save is for times like this.

Congrats on the new AC, I hope you get many years of trouble free service! Dental insurance is such a racket. I'm fortunate to have coverage from my job, the downside being it covers 100% up to $300 individual/$600 for a family and then 0% after that. With cleanings being $100 a pop, it runs out as soon as someone needs any work outside of that.

Saving always seems to be a catch 22 for us. Just about every time we've saved enough to pay off a bill or get something we've wanted, something breaks that costs exactly the same amount. I built a new gaming PC a during the stay at home order and I'm awaiting the inevitable punishment. I thought it was going to be my push mower, but that was thankfully just sticky throttle linkage.

We got a partial refund from my youngest daughter's college for shutting down early last semester but her summer classes ended up being more than the refund. We got the stimulus money but gave the oldest daughter 600 toward her student loan and need the rest to help pay for next semester for the youngest. We took most of the money for the AC out of our mutual fund but there's not a lot left in there and hate to tap it again. I'll pay for the tires out of our savings and wait to see where we are when the wife decides to get her crowns done. Our dentist doesn't make the crowns and uses a lab so our discount isn't much on them. We're looking at about 2400 for two.

Oof, when it rains it pours.

My trucks tire pressure monitoring system is on the fritz, both front sensors randomly fluctuate between 0-99 psi and one of the rears doesn't show any reading. I've always watched my tires with a gauge so I'm not too concerned about it, it's just the bright flashing yellow indicator on the dash is annoying.
