My wife and I tested positive today on the covid topic. I had a very mild sore throat on Sunday night, which in retrospect was probably the start of my symptoms. Monday it was presenting as allergies with sinus congestion and drainage with the usual odd coughs/sneezes.

I kept going to work as it was all fairly normal, but my wife started feeling crappy today and dug out those government at home tests. I had to head to medical at work for one of their tests to confirm positive and I'm out until next Thursday.

It kinda sucks because we don't get paid when we get put out and I feel fine today. I'm glad we know though and can avoid spreading it.

My daughter complained of a really bad sore throat when she got it.

Sounds like you got it mild Waho, that's good. It's a shame they don't pay you though. The window for Omicron is supposed to be five days after. I'm surprised they didn't let you back on Tuesday to get tested. I know I stayed put from Thursday for nine days but I really had no place to go other than a vet visit that following Thursday and my gf took him although I drove her. She remained Covid free despite being the only person I saw when infected and she isn't vaxed. Of course she smokes that funny stuff so she's probably safe.

Well, my log splitter odyssey might be drawing to a close. After waiting 3 months and hearing nothing from the repair shop, I emailed them to have them check on the issue and see if there was a delivery date. They had told me originally it would take a couple months. They got back to me and informed me the engine was no longer being made and wanted to issue a refund of the three hundred and something I had paid.

Found an authorized dealer and they gave me a bad story but said they'd check if there was another model Honda engine that would fit. They had me send the specks. I started searching the net and found a site that said the engine they were selling was the replacement for mine. I sent a link to the authorized dealer and figured I'd hear back in a couple days. Nothing.

Contacted the web site after checking feedback on them and saw rave reviews so I asked if there was anything that didn't match the earlier model, specifically shaft size and length and bolt configuration. They said it was an exact match. I waited another day to see if I'd hear back from the authorized service company and nothing.

I ordered the engine Tuesday or Wed and I've already got UPS saying I'll get it mid week. Now it was a question of whether I could get the old one off. After jacking it up, it was only three bolts to remove the engine and one of those set screws in the coupling that took some penetrating oil to loosen up.

My only concern at this point is how to get the coupling put back on the new engine to line up with the coupling on the body of the splitter. I'm assuming a slow pull on the cord will turn the shaft and it will fall into place but this is new territory for me. I'm not used to freezing up engines.

I'm not surprised. I've got parts I've been waiting on at my work since last May. As far as turning the engine, If you have access to the back of the engine, some engines have threaded holes on the back of the flywheel and you could screw a couple long bolts in and turn it with a bar. I have an adapter that bolts onto the Kohler two cylinder engines so I can put a large wrench on it to break the rotor from the generator loose that is threaded onto the engine shaft.

Hitt, I'll have to take a look.

I finally took the snowblower apart to replace the auger belt, what a PIA. Glad I was able to work on it in 50-60 degree weather. I don't know why they can't space the pulleys a quarter or maybe an eighth of an inch wider so you can get the belts on without effort.

You had to lift the drive pulley to get the belt over the bolt holding the Auger pulley and even lifted as high as it would go, the belt wouldn't pass the bolt. I had to jam something between the pulleys so I had two free hands to get the belt passed the bolt. I think is it was freezing out, I'd have used some of those words I try to suppress under most circumstances

    Roth,
I bought impeller mod kits for the 2 smaller snowblowers at the mothers houses. They bog down and only throw about a 5 ft stream of what can only be described as milkshake. The impeller mods are supoosed to clear the housing by eliminating the gap between the impeller blades and the housing. It looks like the easier way is to pull the impeller and do the drilling on our small drill press than try to drill, align, and bolt through the chute opening. But watching the videos gives me the impression that way is still going to be a PITA. If the manufacurers would take notice that tons if people are using these mods they might actually put out a better design that does the job without modifying the machine.

FC, I did that mod on my now sold Craftsman. I used cut outs from an old truck mudflap and self drilling screws. It took me most of a very hot day and two trips to HD to get things I needed. It did work well unless the snow was really, really wet and it was a real PITA in getting them installed.

My guess is that they don't manufacture that way due to a liability fear although there still is a very narrow gap between the rubber and chute wall. Even if you got a little too close, the rubber would be trimmed real quick during operation.

The Craftsman had no way of getting the chute out of the way which remined me that one of the trips was to get a longer extension to screw the sell tapping screws into the impeller. I think you're right about pulling the impeller as far as installing the kit. The biggest issue is to know where to place the rubber on the impeller blades so they're close enough to the wall of the chute but not too close.

Thinking about it, maybe laying the rubber on the blade while still on the snowblower and marking where the back of it should sit on the blade.

Well project one of two complete. I have a working log splitter again. New engine came in and I had removed the dead one the week before so it was just a matter of lining up the coupler and bolting it down. What a project. Three months waiting for the engine to arrive and then find out their distributor couldn't get it. Another week going to an authorized dealer who took the info on model number , then me sending a web site to them that said they had its replacement. When they didn't get back in three or four days I contacted the site myself to insure it would fit and they said it was an exact match and it was. Ordered myself and saved install cost. Lucky too because that engine was being discontinued.

I was thinking yesterday how I always use the same three snus all the time and really miss the thunder raspberry so put in an order at snuscentral to try some of the new flavored snus from 77 and a couple other brands. Just got a couple cans of most but got a roll of my jakobsson mint and one other one. Not a great price at about 4.65 a can but just felt like trying some new stuff.

Thanks Hitt, think I have ID'd the issue if you aren't opening the thread with newest posts first. Let me know and I'll get back at Classwife with what I found.

Snowblower fixed and the auger shaft was bent as I suspected, glad I shopped it. They fixed everything and did a tune up and the cost was reasonable for what they did.

I guess I need to pay closer attention when I’m ordering snus. I wanted to try some new stuff so got two cans each a some I’ve never tried. I found out when I opened a can of 77 that they are nicotine pouches and not snus. I’m just glad I didn’t get rolls of them.

The raspberry don't taste bad, I got 1 can on my last order. Not sure how they say it is 20mg, does not seem that strong to me, has a kick, but not 20mg strong.

Maybe it’s 20mg per gram and the portions are 1/2 gram.

Well I guess I wasn't the only one not paying attention to my snus order. I opened a can of lundgrens that I ordered a roll of and didn't realize until I tasted it that it was the wrong kind. I emailed snuscentral and they are sending the right roll of lundgrens for free. I'm guessing after eating a $30 shipping charge and a roll of snus that they will be having a talk with their order pullers.

I took a closer look at the specs on the 77 and it says 20mg but the net weight is 10g for 20 portions so evidently the portions are only .5g and 10mg which is kind of deceiving since it says 20mg on the cans. I am trying the black currant one now and it's a pleasant flavor. I don't think I'll be switching completely but may keep a few cans of different flavors on hand just for a nice flavor change. I have two or three others to try also.

I have tried all of the 77 nicotine pouches that I bought on accident thinking they were snus and I actually like them. I have the strawberry in now. The flavors are nice but it's not a strong kick and they are a little sweet but not overpowering. I'm glad now I got them. I also got a can of Göteborgs Rapé that I hadn't used in years and remembered that I used to like it. The salt is a little strong at first but it mellows out and is nice.

Snus central sent the correct roll of snus out fast and got it here in three days and let me keep the one they sent wrong. I am thinking about using some of my liquid mixing flavors to see if I could add some flavor to the ones I got wrong so I could use them up. I really don't care for them the way they are. The lundgrens skargarden is new to me but the description sounded good so I got a whole roll. The berry flavor isn't exactly what I thought it would be. It's a mild tobacco with natural berry flavor that's kind of almost sour or something. The berry flavor is more of a background flavor than up front.

I brought a can of each of the nicotine pouches to work this week and am finding that I am still using the same amount of regular snus even with adding a few nicotine pouches a day. It's almost like I feel no affect from them but do like the flavors.
