Don't know if any of you watch Dateline but this week's episode, Death Trap, was about the pizza collar bomb heist at a bank in Erie, PA back in 2003 and the events that followed. Of all the strange stuff I've ever seen, this had to be the strangest. I believe it's available on line now also.

A new documentary creator just happened to be somewhat in the area when the story broke and it caught his attention for his first project. After watching Dateline and intrigued by the whole thing, I started watching the mini series documentary, Evil Genius, on Netflix that is giving even more detail about what was going on.

Waho, that was exactly my feeling. I watch a lot of this crime stuff. From what I've seen, Hittland (Missouri) and PA were in a neck and neck race for most corrupt court systems and probably governments, but there's a lot of competition in that area. I followed the Ryan Ferguson case for years until he finally was released from jail, convicted of the Columbus, Mo. murder of a sportswriter. This case pushed PA clearly in the lead with how they handled the victim.

Definitely will watch Wild. I find reality much more captivating than fiction. That's another story I never heard of but knowing how crazy the population of Oregon is, I can imagine. A friend's daughter, who I had never met, visited a number of years ago. She seemed like she came from another planet. Knowing she grew up here, I always wondered how her brain got rewired. What's going on in Portland these days just reaffirmed that there needs to be something in the water.

I've been using it all week (sometimes 2 at once) in the back of my molars, well my denture molars. Hasn't been an issue. I did not insert/remove in front of anyone and it went wrapped in the trashcan or toilet. Will probably be even more stealthy once tobacco free goes into effect. I seem to be able to talk fine most of the time, or really all the time and it's only getting easier. Thanks for the tips. :)

Up at my apartment at 5:30 a.m.

This week has lasted longer than several years of my life that I have experienced. Oh god, yesterday was HORRID.

Gonna try to do some yoga today even if it's for 15 minutes. I am at altitude and have to drive a bit to a different site, but hey, may as well build up to it. LOL.

Oooh vaped wintergreen all morning yesterday (logistical issues meant I could not get more til lunch). I still like the flavor, but by the end of the morning I almost PUKED. That flavor is intense and does not agree with my tummy and like yeah, no fun. I picked up a bunch of other flavors at lunch.

LOL I know there is a stereotype that women don't use it. Thanks for the reassurance @hittman AND all the help getting there!! To all of you on this thread. With my stress, I think snus is saving me. I smoked 4 cigarettes on Saturday as I was arguing with the husband while moving (so stressed that I did not even count them, but MAN) haven't smoked any since. I better not be moving to like, oral lozenges. No one has said anything so far, but I'm not sure they WOULD but I think it shall be fine and all that.

Can't wait to make my first overseas order.

I really need to quit checking the Snus sites.
Snus24 has Thunder Sweet Mint Slim on sale for 30% off, so I placed another order that I didn't really need, but for a final cost of $2.80 per can, I could not resist. Now to find room in the freezer.

Yea, the sales are really the best time to place orders, even if you don't need it, because when you DO need it, it most likely won't be on sale. Only thing I think I will order in the near future, is if General Mint has a 10+5 deal, which should fall the end of year or the first of next year, iirc.

Burnie, you're doing exactly what I do. Calculate the per can price including the shipping and make a decision. My orders usually end up in the $200-300 range which seems to be a lot but when I was spending that amount for cigarettes ever two weeks it puts it in perspective.

Waho, Wild, Wild Country was just that. I never heard anything about that. Of course it took place during the time I was transitioning from real estate sales to computer programmer at a small local newspaper to a fortune 100 corporation so I was a bit distracted.

They even had exposure here in PA when they bought a closed steel manufacturing site about an hours ride from me. It never became operational as the organization imploded soon after but quite the story.

Second week and I have not stealth vaped for ONE MOMENT at work. I love snus, I really do. I'm so glad the little hamster upstairs told me to go check this thread! Also, one day this week I arrived at 7:45 and did not exit the building again until 6 p.m. even for lunch (Mostly crisis plus I'm still slow). HOWEVER, I'm so glad I showed up here.

I got my first paycheck, but like, it all has to go for apartment and other bills and such. Next one, although a lovely member here was in the process of discarding snus they did not like/want and is sending me a bunch of cans. Thank you so much, snus thread unnamed person! I will also get to try some cans before my first big order.:thumbs:

Seriously ya'll have been awesome and if I'd had to do it on nic lozenges alone, my head would have exploded. Seriously! I am becoming some sort of snus crusader now (although part of me wants to say nothing, I mean, you know, the more people know, etc.) as well as a vape crusader but a) This STUFF WORKS like magic and b) even if I COULD vape at work it would slow me down. With snus, you just shove it in your mouth and go!!! It's THE BEST.

(I don't have had to mouth issues when taking with clients OR when really busy on the computer, too so it has ALSO been the bomb for that. Meetings, not so much but I will live.)

I just wanted to say thank you ALL again on this thread you guys rock

Also, I am pretty sure I am going to LOVE my new job, every day gets better. So glad I rented an apartment I don't THINK I am gonna get fired.

I was trying to psych myself up to drive home last night but I was SO TIRED. The husband texted me at 2 "Don't worry about the drive, I came up an I'm organizing your apartment ,and we are ordering pizza." I almost cried when I got the text. I still woke up at 5 and yes I will have to drive down this morning but at least I can go a bit leisurely as I wake up first and etc.

Yes Anna, for those of us that vaping was missing something, snus became a godsend. I know I would have been back to smoking had I not found snus and my first can was a Camel. From my first portion, I never went back to a single puff of a cigarette and, at that time, I was at around half a pack a day coming off a 2 1/2 pack habit.

    Somewhere between here and there
I’m glad to hear it’s going well Anna. I don’t / can’t vape a lot at work so snus has been a godsend for me too. Now that it’s getting colder it reminds me how glad I am that I don’t have to go outside for smoke breaks.

Glad to hear it works for you Anna! I've found that as your mouth gets more and more used to having a portion in a specific spot that they stay in place more easily. I keep mine to the right of the little skin flap thing in the center of the upper lip and everything stretched a little bit to accommodate a portion. After a short time the portion moistens and shapes in such way it virtually locks in. So much so that if I have to remove a portion for some reason after less than an hour it is a little bit difficult to get out sometimes.

I got my Mom using mini mints occasionally when she's at work. She does laundry/housekeeping at an old folks home, and since there's oxygen tanks they can't smoke on the premises. They make smokers run to their cars and smoke with the windows rolled up, and of course the employee parking is a 5 minute walk one way. Not enough time on the short breaks, so she'll grab a mini mint or sneak a vape in the bathroom like it's high school (which makes me laugh every time I hear about it).

I hadn't had a cig craving in such a long time that when I had one recently it was almost overwhelming. I usually try to avoid the "cigarette lane" at the grocery store, but it was the shortest line a few weeks ago when my wife and I were shopping. Kroger has the Plexiglas box of "discounted smokes" right in your face as you're piling groceries on the belt, and there was a pack of Camel Turkish Silvers with a $1 off this pack label. It triggered my brain with the "Oh, good deal, I should buy that now" impulse and I was instantly hit with a craving like I was still smoking and hadn't had a cig in days. Double bagging snus and a ton of vaping got me over it in a hour or so, but damn that was intense.

My snus is here! I am so excited to try all these new things. I will say, some of the flavors you can buy in the US are a bit boring.

Good news/bad news. I think my team likes me meaning they have started grabbing me for every opportunity and I think I met my "patient per day" quota I am supposed to achieve BY the first year. They were all complicated too. My supervisor comes back this morning I didn't take lunch and still have notes to do. Sigh. I am going to have to work this out but right now I'm just like AGHHH.

But, it sure was interesting. Power went out in the middle of the day, all sorts of madness. Still happy, hoping I will get things working. Etc.

    Good morning all!

    Anna
