New snus is awesome... I tried Odin Ice I think it was. My brain read "cola" but that was apparently incorrect. Is it just me or is Swedish snus way higher quality than American general? It wouldn't shock me a bit, with cigarettes Europe actually gets all the best tobacco. I was ordering Russian Marlboros decades ago and shocked at how much better they were.

Yesterday went well, not too busy thankfully and well, my supervisor did a few more observations and :"cleared me to be awesome and go about my business and whatnot." That was relieving, she was like, "I think you will do well here."

So, I won't mention the F word I mean, I am fairly competent usually it's just the move, everything else, and all that. Plus not working for a while. But, I am getting into a groove.

SO looking forward to the weekend. Seriously.

Sounds like you're adjusting well Anna. Both with the new job and the addition of snus to your routine. I know I was really surprised at the quality difference between real Swedish snus and what the American tobacco companies are trying to pass off as snus. Better, smoother taste and not nearly as sweet. I enjoy some sweetness but prefer a good tobacco taste above all. Odin is a great snus, very reasonably priced and good quality. I've enjoyed quite a few of their offerings and didn't find one I disliked.

Congrats on the new job going well! As far as I can tell, there is no difference between the General snus bought at a convenience store and the stuff I get shipped from Sweden. I'm pretty sure it's the same. However, different companies do use different grades of tobacco and anything general or made in Sweden has been way better than any of the American snus I've tried.

Well my Harbor Freight $90 canopy that I purchased to cover my firewood supply passed its first test. I only bought it for the frame and bought a heavy duty tarp to replace the one that came with it, buried hooks in 25 pounds of concrete and tied down the canopy with wire rope.

Winds were heavy enough to take down a decent sized tree and the power lines, less than a mile from my house. Fortunately, my house wasn't in that grid since I still haven't moved my generator up from my shed. I certainly wasn't going out last night to check the canopy or chase down the generator. They were blasting on our phones and TV about tornado potential for over two hours. It got nasty enough I made sure I had enough clearance in the safest place in my cellar for the dogs and us to honker down if need be. However, the canopy stood strong.

I think I read somewhere that all the debt of American's combined is more than the government deficit.

I don't know it that's true or not, but I have heard it.

I don't really mind budgeting, but doing it with an insane person is just not fun whatsoever. Although the husband does seem saner today but he got sleep. He can go over the totally grim numbers while I do yoga, because like, that seems to help both of us. LOL.

My suggestion, and yes, for me it's brilliant. He'll have like over an hour to go on... .and on.... and on... I will not be cutting him off or arguing because I will be standing on my head.

I budget just GREAT solo and I personally have purchased TWO out of our TWO houses, coming up with the down payment and everything. In my opinion the husband is a TERRIBLE budgeter, so since I will be giving him ALL my extra money instead of saving it (he has this thought that now I am independent, making the Big Bucks and all that, I MUST be wanting to leave him.)

That's insane (although... .I am kind of a catch except for all my flaws, heh) so to save HIS sanity, he's gonna have all my extra DOUGH and like, I'd better be DAMN sure he knows where he is PUTTING it.

    Husbands.

We took our cat a few months ago to the vet because we noticed that he was losing weight. The vet said he had kidney failure and we needed to feed him special food we could only get from the vet. That seemed to help for a while and he had been doing really good the past few weeks. I came home Friday night and my wife told me he crashed and wasn’t doing well. He’s worse now and I honestly don’t know if he’ll make it until morning. He hasn’t eaten in a day and a half.

Kidney failure is tough, both for animals and people. My uncle had it and they got him through a couple episodes but the last one hit real hard. I had him to the legion for his normal couple beers on a Saturday and he was feeling really good although he decided he didn't feel like going the previous Wednesday. I went to pick him up for his skin cancer appointment the next Wednesday and he was asleep at the breakfast table.

We woke him up and I got him into the car but I knew something was wrong as he was really sluggish. I told the helpers that I felt something wasn't right and they said they'd have him checked out. They called me the next evening and they had moved him from his room to the hospital side and said he was in bad shape. I had an appointment the next morning with the funeral director but I called them right after I got the call to let them know they might be getting a call that night.

I went to the appointment and finalized the planned arrangements and headed straight to the assisted living place. He was sitting up and very alert. We had a good visit and I left when my cousin and his brother showed up as I had alerted them the night before.

My sister went the next day and he wasn't as good but still communicative. I went the following day and he was back in bed and definitely suffering and he died that night. At least it was quick.

Anna, keep up that yoga. lol

Our cat passed shortly after I made that post. My wife came and got me and said she thought he took his last breath but couldn’t look so I went and checked. He was gone. I’m upset but not like she is. He was really her cat and cuddled with her. He was 12 and a half. He was the best cat we ever had. I doubt there will be another one for us.

Thanks guys/gals. I think it didn't hit me that hard because we've known it was coming. I will miss him. I used to rub his belly and he would claw and play bite at me. I ended up with some scratches on my hands but it was good fun. My wife couldn't stand to see him again after he passed so I went in and wrapped him in a blanket and put him in a box. She has to take him to the vet this morning for whatever they do with the remains.
