The second service guy is here at work. Our internet upgrade has turned into a nightmare. They screwed up the phone lines and we've had hit and miss internet service since they hooked up the new router. I'm about to change from aggravated to ...... off. I can't access any of the service manuals that I need on the internet.

I hate change!! Seems like it never goes well in the beginning.

Nah, not gonna be kicking hj any time soon. I know at some point I'll need to come down on him for something, but to date he's been a really willing dog and his mistakes are part of his learning. I know the point will come when he gets downright belligerant about something and when that happens, I will handle it.

Got permission to use a huge hay field for tracking today. I've been waiting all summer to catch the owner working the field and I finally found him today and he said yes. YEAH!!

Did they turn it off, then on? ;)

Axl, I meant kick the breeder.

I turned the air on for the first time in anticipation of the heat. It sounds like 3 days and back to the 80s.

Good morning. Roth it turned out that the first tech that was here didn't know what he was doing. He disconnected one of our phone lines and had the others rolling over to the fax machine. I'm not sure exactly why the internet wasn't working. I heard the second guy say something about the line having two filters on it and he ended up replacing the new modem with another one thinking that whatever the first guy did that it damaged the modem. One of the guys here overheard the second guy calling into the office and chewing their asses because he said the first tech had no business working on this equipment and didn't know what he was doing. Anyway, we're up and running again.

I'm taking the day off work to spend the day with my daughter on her birthday. She got to choose her breakfast (ramon noodles- yuck!), then she gets to pick out her own cake at hy vee, then they are going roller skating, then probably the pool. I think going to work would have been more relaxing!

It was supposed to rain all day today, but the sun is shining pretty bright. We really need a good soaker. My tracking grounds are drying up!

    well...
i got nothing to add to the conversation. You'd think something interesting would have happened in the last week.
    Work,sleep,work,sleep,work...

I've been working on an amp that may be the worst example of mass production engineering i've ever seen. You can't get to the board when the power is on.so it's pretty much been take it apart, guess what is broken, replace components, put it back together, rinse, repeat.I'm about ready to fire it up and test (again) - if it didn't take 4 hours to disassemble/reassemble, it wouldn't be such a huge deal
    It's fairly maddening....

Good morning. Gutter that amp sounds like a nightmare. Every once in a while I run into equipment like that. The manufacturers make some of this stuff almost impossible to work on.

yeah - repair was clearly not figured into the mass production, engineering equation. i guess it was the start of the "everything is disposable" downhill slope.

That looks as bad as some of the stuff I work on.

My work computer had been acting really weird lately and I've been running scan after scan with nothing doing any good. There was random audio commercials and stuff running over my speakers with no programs running. I ended up running a scan with kapersky and it found a rootkit virus that all of my other software was missing. So far it seems like things are back to normal. I hope anyway.

Hitt, I feel for you. I now have 4 or 5 virus programs that I run from time to time hoping one will catch anything nasty running. It's a pain, but better than the alternative.

My heat pump appears to have gone south so no air. Three fans in the LR make it just bearable. I was looking into replacing it last year and put it off. I only had issues with it once in 16 1/2 years and it was 16 years old at the time I moved in. I hate to replace it because nothing lasts like that today, but I think I'll need to bite the bullet.

Roth, I guess that could be a lot more. Could be a compressor or something. Good luck. The boss is off today so it's going to be a company wide goof off. I can tell already. Everyone is so much more relaxed when he's not here but things still get done for the most part.
