VapApe, I tried that two winters ago when I had one delivered to my mom's house because I was afraid the moving truck couldn't get in my road.

That was one of the coldest, snowy, icy I can remember and it arrived the coldest day of the winter. When I finally got the battery charged, I hopped on to ride it home at F 6 degrees. Nobody would believe anything followed you home in that weather.

That's a good one skrymr. I read mixed reviews on them. The wife read some last night and seems to think that maybe it's not the right breed for us. That is after she had me call and set up a time to look at them tonight after work. The person that has them mentioned that the puppies and their cat are getting along well so that was one good thing since we have a cat. I kind of doubt if we will come home with one tonight.

Beautiful dogs but might be a lot to handle for novices. If you took Jackson's unwillingness to listen and multiplied by 10 you might get close to a description. They're said to be more catlike and in my mind that's not good for a dog. I've never had one, but I've known two who have. Oh, they are grass connoisseurs also (so is Jacks) so you might want to think about that lawn of yours.

hitt, do what you think is the best for family. I only know one person with a shiba, and I've only met the dog a couple of times. I have heard that they do best with experienced owners.
I have been quite busy chasing the new puppy around. She is fitting in nicely, and has given the old dog new energy. I think we'll keep her.

Hitt, boxers are actually excellent dogs. If you can find a good one, that is. Maybe fc can hook you up! I like mutts, they have hybrid vigor. I love German Shepherds, but don't love their health issues. What breeds catch your eye? Did you have any dogs growing up that you especially liked? I heard nothing but good things about goldendoodles.

those are my random dog thoughts for the night

We went and saw the shiba puppies along with the mom and dad. The dad was very protective but the mom was really nice and came right up to us. They had two boy and two girl puppies. One of the females was a little calmer than the rest and seems like it might be a good fit for us. We are considering it seriously.

Axl, Jacks is a goldendoodle and he is great, but strong willed. I personally love goldens as I had two that were great dogs. However, as you spoke of GSs, purebreds have their health issues. My first golden had epilepsy from about nine months.

I had two Lab Shep. mixes that were very good dogs and extremely healthy. I think my yellow Lab Shep. was around 120 lbs and the second best dog I ever lived with after I got him over his separation anxiety. I came home one day when he was around a year old. He had toilet paper all over the house, ripped up a bath towel and chewed up a tube of toothpaste all over the living room (that was a mess to clean up.

I went to Home Depot, bought 2x4s, 2 sheets of plywood and hinges. I built a giant cage in the basement and whenever we left I took him to the basement and made it his home. After a year or so I called him to go in the cage, he followed me down, but then sat down when I told him to get in his cage. He just looked at me with those big brown eyes. I told him, okay, but he better be good and no damage. He never was a problem again.
