Allergic. Kinda funny. Too bad for him.
I use about 6 times a portion size about 3 times a day. I never smoked more than a pack 1/2 a day on a lightning up kind of a day but I haven't smoked much most my life. Mostly quitting abut I chewed 4 mg Nicorette day and night for 10 years from the last time I had to quit again. I read, and I believe it too, that a persons addiction to nicotine. Plah.toes ( totally lost on how that's spelled right now) that's why some people go to like 3 packs a day and other stay low. I don't think there is anything wrong in doubling up or in your case tripling. Nobody will convince me there is unless the amount will be extraordinarily high chronically for along period of time. Then there would be concern you'll probably get sick of it. I tried two small size roll your own in tea bags one for each side and it soon got back up to as big as is comfortable for one side. I am vaping less that's for sure! Sometimes I do just because I want to take a beak from something not because I have a craving. I'm liking the freedom I feel I'm getting from using snus and snuff. I'm new so why I'm jumping in here. (. :

My SO took a few portions to work with him to try out. He offered a portion of General White to a coworker who is a longtime smoker. He had to spit it out immediately, and his face swelled. I'm thinking he had an allergic reaction to the flavorings (bergamot/citrus?). We've been trying to get him to try vaping, but after that experience, I don't think he'll want to try anything we offer him again.

No! Ok good. If loose has 40 grams and a can lasts me I don't know. A week? So this 21 servings.( at here times day) I was basing my assumption on the snus pack I got from trying a camel mellow American products. Tiny. Mut have been what thy call mini. This is good news. I really didn't want to be using more than average
Looks more like 2 grams a day. Right?
I laughed when he told me. I probably shouldn't have, but I was just imagining the poor guy and his reaction.

plateaus -I got your meaning. :) 6 times a portion size 3 times a day? Is that 6 grams of loose?

I thought maybe you were basing it off of mini portions. I was trying to figure out what my cheeks would look like with 6 grams in my mouth...lol ! I had an option to buy loose at my local store, but I didn't want to mess with it. I figured I would end up with snus all over my mouth, and I heard that gum problems are more prevalent with loose ( which may or may not be true ).

I really prefer the size of mini portions, but looks like I won't be able to get the nic I need from that size : (

I'm not sure about others but the thunder berry that I use is 16mg but the portion size is pretty compact. From what I know, they can use different parts of the tobacco plant to get different strengths so a stronger portion doesn't really mean a bigger portion. Of course if you let them dry out from sitting too long then they tend to puff up. I've gotten to the point where I don't like to use the thunder berry unless it's fresh and have thrown out a couple of old cans where the portions dried out.

This is the stuff I come here to learn. I just got my ups delivery and I wil see my first can off fresh snus when I open them because my rape was old I'm sure. Classifieds stuff off ecf. Yeah so I'll let you know kw it looks and tastes all over again no doubt
I find rolling my own in tea bag material easy already and I was raised to get more for my money whenever possible. It's twice as much stuff in most cases! And I like my fingers in it for some weird reason. The stuff interests me in many ways.
So I think I remembering figuring $4.09 with delivery and shipping on my first swedishatch that is 42 cans. I'm going to store in freezer and when I take a can out I'm just leaving it in a cool room until Summer and then I don't know what. My mom told nme to it's better to store opened coffee in the freezer than the fridge because the fridge dries it out more. She knew stuff like that but she might have been wrong. Now me, if it's not open I don't see there would be any difference unless it got warm. Warm would ...... things somehow even if closed. It is oily it seems and oil goes rancid pretty fast in something's or is that some other thing makes it moist? Learning learning...I read but don't remember now. I only remember salt and ground leaves and natural drying. Too bad my tooth is firing up again and the whole tiger balm, headache nausea no fun when I just got some new snus! This time I'm supposed to get the antibiotic so maybe I will get some sleep tonight. Roll eyes

Good morning. I picked up my patrick collins snuff box for the first time in months. Loaded it up with some honey menthol and took my first pinches in over a month. Sometimes the urge hits. It's just not very often any more. I used to go crazy over snuff.

An article I read said that the main thing with storing snus is to keep it at a constant temperature without much variation. Most people choose to seal it in a bag or foodsaver and store it in the fridge or freezer. I just keep mine in bags in a cabinet in my basement that is below ground and stays a constant temperature and mine stay good for many months.

Well I'll be going crazy over snuff pretty soon again here with all the varieties I bought. Survived the ravagings of my my tooth head (ear, eye, jaw, neck brain) ache. Back in Business. And had a mild pleasing delicate but salty(I'll get used to it)

Glad you asked. The first one I tried was more of the same Goteburges Rape to see. Same as far as I could tell. I've had the Prime Fine and of course Rode haven't tried Scruff Konan or the Hristmas one. Tose are it. The dates expire in one month to 6 9 months from now. The date on my classified ad Rape was one month away from expire. He had kept them in freezer. He also is a self confessed obsessive compulsive who does everything a certain way consistently so since these are stored in Sweden I imagine the same way until shipping time all is fine. They three I've opened all nice to me quality but then I don't have anything to compared them to. Can't imagine they'd get much better though.
So in the freezer they go wrapped zipped and bundled in cloth and then in thick bag because I'm worried about.....
Freezer burn. I'm taking your advise about consistent temp so once I open one I put it in fridge instead leaving around where ever. I'm going to get a good plastic container that seals well for fridge active supply. Do same for freezer too. With all the wrappings.
And the Prime Fine is very nice, a little more robust than Rode Lacket and almost the same as Rape. Probably less strong flavoring. The reason I use Central Snus is those two were available in loose form. Scruf is next because I want to test out strong. Plus now I can vape lower nic flavors and they still have throat hit at 18, of which I have three and some at 12. These were gifts with purchase and nicely done. Been hanging around uvaped though I was so busy trying to get my nic.
    This is great.

Hi, guys. I got my mom ( a 45 year smoker ) to try snus today. She tried a general mini mint. Some progress there. I have all these tools to help her, and she's seen me be smokefree for 2 years now, but I just can't get her to give it a try. I've told her she can still smoke and just replace a few a day with snus or a PV, and she has complained for years about how much she hates smoking, but I suppose it's more difficult for her. I had been smoking for only 14 years when I switched. Going to order some stronger snus today.

Glad your snus didn't seem any lower quality, Faylool. I am learning this as well. The snus I bought expires in April of this year, but I have nothing to compare to as far as what a fresh portion is supposed to look like. I'm storing mine in the fridge. 2 cans are opened, one is not.

general mini mint ( doesn't really give me any nic but I like the flavor, 2nd portion today)

Sign her up for ecf and if she's bored and likes the computer she can read and lurk. There is the older folks and vaping section. Stronger nicotine is a good idea and starting with snus is even better since the effects are closer to what people get out of cigs and the transition won't be as noticeable. Tell her I'm 60 and loving the freedom it gives me and goofing off on ecf and there are a ton of us on here too. Very hard to give up cigs ( don't need to tell her I have mostly not smoked most my life) It was for me in my 20s. Like loosing a piece of who you are!
I tried the Skurf strong today and see no problem with using higher nic Skurf. It was not a pronounced taste and might be a good start for smoker because no competing tastes. It's plain. It makes me want to go in and see what I passed up in the higher nicotine loose! I've always been experimental and why waste time trying something new. I'm 60 for heavens sake!
Not having to vape as much I'm getting away from that whole dry mouth thing too. I was sucking candy and drinking drinks and water all the time. I'm not spreading this word for anybody but my own delight. Older you get drier the mouth and I don't need to encourage it. Lots of times it's from meds though. I do vape my eroll cigs more than anything else. I make myself take a break from them and right now I don't have any 36mg nic made up and really want to vape gone my other stuff, clear out the rejects that aren't all that bad. Read the eroll thread it's loooong. See the high nic is more like the real thing. NJoy gets rave review as the most like the real thing and it's bold is 45 mg nic. I found it too harsh. And of course outrageously expensive. I got it for $2.99 free sample. Don't know they are still avail or not. You probably know all this but I'm not going to read all your stuff to find out. I love daughters! Mine was very helpful to get me serious about getting help to quit abusing alcohol. I kept saying I could quit by myself but the fact was I couldn't and she got me started on what it takes to get help, accept help and go from there. So try that strong Skruf. It's not "out there" sat all. Next ones I try will be tomorrow but MAYBE one last tonight. On the vaping site, due to the political stuff they limit their sanction to 24mg nic. This is a mistake for long time smokers. I firmly believe some of the weird stuff anxious quitters of cigs starters of vape report are mostly due to withdrawal, not the effects of vape. But it IS a different world. I chewed Nicorette for 10 years and never could get enough so yeah I chewed ALOT! Well I'm rambling I know you already vape I'm talking as if I'm talking to your mom! Tell her hi and don't be shy

I read a study posted on the casaa site where it said that the three hardcore smokers that quit using 72mg cartridges. I had to wonder where one gets cartridges that high in strength. Before I found snus, I tried some 48mg that I mixed myself. The casaa site is a good place for info.

I was 62 when I started breaking my two to three PAD habit. The cigarette like cheap Chinese E cigs had me down to about six cigarettes almost immediately and stopped the wheezing and coughing within two weeks. Oh, I was a 43 year smoker at that point. That worked for me for six months when I started increasing the number of cigarettes I was smoking up to nearly half a pack. Still good, but scary and not satisfactory. Month seven was critical. I elected to get serious with a PV, increase my nic contact. I also started asking about snus and reading everything I could find as far as studies on the net. After all, smokeless tobacco was worse tham smoking, it gave you mouth cancer and made your jaw fall off. Well that's what the ANTZ were selling for decades.

After I got past those lies and met TV (boy I wish he was around) and Hitt after heading here on the "other side of the tracks" or what was considered, the "dark side", I ordered from Sweden and bought my first can of Camel to try while I was waiting for my order. That first can was purchased on Feb 15th of 2010. Three years ago today, I had my last drag on a cigarette. I had a few "I want one" periods that I got past by increasing the number of portions for the day or two and supplementing with snuff and extra vaping. Today, I don't think of smoking. I use 4-5 portions, vape maybe 2ml of WTA a week and occasionally use some snuff for a treat.

Everyone is different and all I can say is people should start the journey and see where it leads. Don't beat yourself over the head about smoking as long as you're improving where you came from. I had extra incentive because I started having issues with cigarettes once the fire suppressants were added. I hope everyone that wants to get there finds the tools needed for their journey, it's worth it.

Now for some totally OT stuff (we can't get too buried in the reason this forum exists ), I was hoping we'd hear something from Gutter. I think he was supposed to hear something today. Just a little worried here. My favorite bar manager's brother is having brain surgery at around 37/38 on Friday. Don't remember what the condition is, but it sounds awful. It causes intense pain in your face that can last hours at a time. At the same time her best friend is going through cancer treatment this week for breast cancer. Needless to say, she's having a rough couple weeks. She's a really strong person but just collapsed last week and had to be taken to the emergency room. My guess was the stress of the situation got to her. Her brother will be leaving his family and staying with her and her husband for an undetermined period of time because he's going to need serious help for a while after the operation and her husband is out of work and a very big man. Her brother is going to need that help.

We got snow tonight, a few inches. I'm hoping it doesn't get much worse. My walk was limited to 2 miles on Tuesday because I had to run mom around and I only had about a half hour while she was getting her hair done. The good news was the muscles that hurt last week weren't bad but to get the 2 miles in within the time I had, I needed to jog some. Jogging is really tough on old feet and hiking boots. I want to get out tomorrow.

Old feet are the bane of my existence now. I really regret wearing high heels and new Gloria Vanderbilt jeans while doing Disneyland back when and all the jobs I had I felt required them. There was this guy in his 90s back in Prescott, AZ that was always walking around town, down the HWY all over and people would stop to offer him a ride. It got around he refused saying if he quit walking he'd die. Like a joke but kinda true. Ewe..... Tried the Christmas snus ( long name but the more expensive one) it was nice. It was the most salty I've had however so not a repeat. So far Skurf high strength has been the less salty. I'm on a quest to find those lower salt and also a couple few high nic ones. Thunder somethings and I'll look around for other loose.
And now this Konan. Another salty one and kind of perfumery. Not a repeat.

I've had leg/knee pain on and off ever since I broke my foot several years ago and the doctor said he saw the start of arthritis in that leg. I was none too excited to hear that since my mom had suffered from arthritis for most of her adult life. Regular exercise seems to help me with it.

Faylool it sounds like you are having all kinds of fun trying new stuff. I got out another old favorite snuff that I hadn't used in quite some time today. Who knows, maybe I'll be back on the snuff wagon for a while.

Over the past three years I've tried many different snus flavors but I would say over the past six months or so I have settled down for the most part with the thunder berry and general mint. I have others but don't get them out as often. I used to keep many cans open at a time and would almost never use the same kind twice in a row. Some of the ones I've tried and liked were lab 01,02,05, skruf es, skruf tranbar, goteberg rape, general white, LD Black, claq qui, click white, roda lacket, thunder cool mint, thunder coola, thunder orange, thunder coffee supreme, nick and johnny crushed ice, below zero mint. That's all I can think of right now. I have tried others like the odens extremes but they aren't for me. Oh, I almost forgot, I used to be a big fan of odens kanel. I never liked the general wintergreen, jakobsens crushed ice, blue ocean, thunder frost, and catch pure mint.
