I use 18500's in both my Nemmys and magnets in the switch, no problems with it.
which mod clones from fasttech are the best quality?

Just got a stainless King from FT. This is my first mech, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say that I'm really happy with the quality of the device! Nice finish and fit, the quality actually shocked me. So far my only beefs are that it's freaking heavy for it's size, I've figured out the big deal about reverse threaded lock rings (this one is not reverse threaded, unlocking it sometimes unscrews the whole switch) and lastly the kick tube is about 1mm too short with a flat top 18650 battery and the FT kick installed.
Oh yeah, get a kick. The difference is night and day, well worth it!
And... what about batteries? Not to hijack the thread, but... I have some Sonys I salvaged from a laptop pack, but I also have some new, no name 18650s I'm using right now... Am I going to blow up? Seriously, how big is the danger? I'm running all my attys at 1.5 to 2 ohms and have the kick cranked down to around 7 or 8 watts, so I don't think I'm really stressing the battery. I've chain vaped, pulled the battery... no undue heat... Should I skip the no bands and stick with the Sonys?

Never use batteries from a laptop. Ever. Especially salvaged ones. Also, never use no name batteries. You don't know anything about them. Don't be cheap, go get a couple 30A Sonys or something that has been tried and true by other mech vapors. It could save you money and possible fingers or teeth down the road.
It's your face. Do you value it?
Edit: You couldn't pay me to use LiPo/LiIon batteries (which is what laptop batteries are) in a mech mod without a safety fuse. The same goes for nameless batteries. Re-read the battery advice given earlier in this thread.

Adjust the contacts.
My FT King clone works fine with flat tops or button tops both with FT kick in 650 or 350 mode.
You need to remove the smaller contact screw from the top cap to make the kick fit.
But it fits fine.

Honestly my nemi clone isn't nearly as good as this random GG clone I have. It's a power issue with the nemi. Massive voltage drop I guess

I'd suggest you check everything out - including your Battery. I have 4 Nemesis and with a 18650 NMKE they all slam. No voltage drop issues at all. Did you do a thorough cleaning on receipt?

Check contacts, clean everything and be sure you use a quality battery.
Voltage drop should not be excessive if everything is set up properly.
It shouldn't b overly noticeable, even with clones.
Fasttech has just added the Poldiac clone that has the "shirt" and "pants" and a magnetic switch along with silver contacts. They have had a cheaper one for a while that just has the tubes and a spring switch.

A very large percentage of items on FT have pics from other vendors and not representative of their actual product... They use other's pic to lure in potential buyers. Almost every copied RDA they have has pics of the original manufacturers, or did at one time. Very misleading and this might also be one of those instances. I would suggest to proceed cautiously!!!

If you get the kick from FT...check the solder joints (ask me how I know), and get some clear nail polish and conformal coat it (original kick had a clear heatshrink around it)

Most of the items on FT are actual pictures of the item. Flaws and all.
The discriptions are pretty accurate.
Check the discussion posts on any item and you will see reviews and information from buyers who actually own the items in question.
Fast tech isn't the place for super high quality products, but if you so the legwork and read about the items you can b as confident as ordering from any US based site.
Shipping is another matter.
Honk Kong post is insane and uses zero logic.
US customs is just as bad.
I have been on FT's site and there were quite a few items that were pics that were mostly from Alibaba that they were using and most of the pics on Alibaba are photo shopped from most of the original manufacturer's... Most of the RDA's they had listed a few months back were. The Kick was one of the worst ones they did. They actually used Evolv's pics... So, not untrue...

I have the fast tech kick.
It looks exactly like the picture on the FT site.
It looks Nothing like the Evolv kick.
Neither do the pics.
BTW the FT kick for 8$ and change is a steal and works flawlessly.
I'm rocking the kick and the SS king clone, with a KFL clone built at 1.5ohms as I type this.
One of the best set ups you can get for under $65 (that's total for everything but the aw battery).
I have to agree in that I think FT uses their own photos. Very often someone will request a pic showing a particular view or detail and it will get posted on the items main page in a few days. This really seems to be true with attys as they often forget detail pics showing the posts or deck.
My 101vape SS Nemesis is much better than my FT SS Nemesis.
