You will see some differences if you look for them.
Specifically, a DNA device will fast-track a temperature setting all over the adjustable range; power drive will vary rapidly as you draw the Vapour, to keep the temperature constant. The whole behavior of power delivery will adjust on how well the wick of your RTA deploys the e-liquid to the coil. If you drip, you'll come to love it.

One important note.
The entire functionality of DNA hardware / software system become useless if your 510 connector isn't of top quality.

I don't want to point at brand names, but I have seen some cheap DNA devices which use a connector that, in my view, is not up to the task.

Lost Vape maybe charging an arm and a leg for their devices, but their 510 connectors are proper and fit for purpose (... the one on the Therion being somewhat better than the 510 on the Paranormal...), in the sense they do not introduce random resistance variations and casual thermoelectric offsets which impair correct TC operations on more easygoing devices.

This said, I believe you are not overpaying for DNA and other professional devices, because you are purchasing "precision" - which involves - on the part of designers and manufacturers - a lot of thought before do.

Precision which is not immediately evident, and will show only if you are seeking for dependable and repeatable temperature control operations of your vaping device.

That's better now. I see you do have your experience with Lost vape. Am on the way of buying surprised to learn one can even negotiate.... It is an expensive device the Paranormal but I d realy love to get into the TC world with my MTL rebuildables. Had several dry hits mostly due to infunctionality of my mods. Hope for the best with the Paranormal. Especially with the replay function. Many thanks, enjoy the vape.

I used to use TC with a standard Joyetech/eLeaf chip, as well as a few others. I liked it. After a year or so, I finally went for a DNA device. There's no going back; it's a completely different experience. The main differences are is that it's much smoother and it actually works at lower temperatures. 185 C is good, 195 C is a bit warmer with more vapour, 205 is more again. With the cheaper chips, I found the power would choke if your temperature wasn't high enough. They often wouldn't provide any vapour worth mentioning below 200 C. Once I found a temperature where it would work, which was often a little higher than I preferred, it was still a bit wobbly. There's none of that with the DNA.

I've also tried a YiHi recently. I found it much better than the standard chips but not as good as the DNA.

For what it's worth, my favourite setup is the Kayfun Prime on a Jac Vapour. I'm currently using 7 wraps of 28 gauge SS316L with a 2.5 mm ID.

Since you like the Kayfun Prime and airier MTL, have you ever tried the Kayfun 5? I don't mean the recent Kayfun 5 squared, but the older Kayfun 5 that predated the Prime. It's very similar to the Prime but with a slightly bigger chamber and more airflow; the lowest setting on the K5 is a little airier than the highest setting on the Prime. It might be worth trying out if you haven't met it yet.

Thanks a lot Hawise. Paranormal DNA250 on the way as I couln't resist anymore the discount .... Prime clone is waiting in the drawer for the best mod to arrive. Kayfun is just another toy, smth should be left for the future.... Many thanks for your description of DNA advantages. I am cool with lower TC so let's see how DNA produces it. All zthose toys cost no less then the analogues but hopefully it will help me put the cigs out completely once for all... Thanks again.

That’s true, I use TC on a iStick Pico 75 W (Arctic Fox) and also on a DNA 75 mod, and the temperature adjustment on the DNA mod, especially the ‘fine tuning’, works much better. Still, TC is on the Pico is more than acceptable, and I wouldn’t go back to power mode.
