Touché. Then again I am not a chemist, but I do know English.

I guess this would be a case of "you had to be there". It's an inside joke. Thanks, though
nah...old timers spell it "Isle"

exactlyI dunno about you?
But whenever I go to Wally World, I have to go down the Cereal "Isle". Just In Case.
LOL
I'm not making any assumptions about that. It was clear to me already from the start you aren't among those who are picking sides, and, the fact both MTL and DTL users are at risk is only trivial IMO.@dripster – do not make assumptions at what I am confused at or did not acknowledge from your previous posts. The purpose of my post was to demonstrate that IF formaldehyde forms at higher temperatures, then both MTL and DTL users are at risk. I am not picking sides! We adjust our wattage based on the coil that is utilized to reach a desired vape temperature.
It's when some people start to flog things like a colorful graph to imply certain stuff about TC saying it's the only way to be sure about the temperature, the alarm bells should start sounding off. Double the sound when some others start to defend that kind of BS by attacking my personal preferences to make it look like I'm the one who started that same BS.

That said, personally, I, am a mech user who adjusts the design of the coil build to arrive at both the desired wattage and the desired vape experience as a whole, so the vape temperature is only one of several important characteristics for me. It's all part of a hobby, and, while macro shots of advanced coil builds can obviously look pretty and may rightfully be called art, my main driving force in coil building is still always going to be the functional side of things. I don't claim to be the best expert at coil building, but I think of myself as an intermediate coil builder who only occasionally builds coils, the majority of which have been satisfying to me, several of them surprisingly VERY satisfying. That is, in terms of both flavor and how the vape feels. With MTL or low wattage or TC, that just isn't even remotely possible for me in any way. This is only my own personal experience. What others want to make of that or not is their own personal choice, which they are entitled to. @Punk In Drublic , I don't disagree...that thread was from 2015 when the trend was to claim there were cloud chasers blowing up the check out lines, restaurants and every other public place known to man. They were spotted everywhere.....allegedly. It was a spoof.
Yes; intentionally; I was wondering who'd pick up on it.You know that you just Dated yourself with that?

Done correctly, it is not damaging to anyone's reputation because nobody will notice!there are irresponsible vapers from both sides. I have seen more people trying to MTL stealth vape in places not allowed. Offices, restaurants (not allowed to vape in bars and restaurants in Canada), public transit, theatres etc. It may not be as obnoxious as a large cloud blown in your direction, but it is still damaging to the reputation of all responsible vapers.

By steering new people toward MTL instead of recommending that they try both options to let them find out for themselves what they prefer, you are running the potential risk of driving them away from vaping altogether. Doing so isn't newbie friendly in any way at all, when you have no surefire way of telling what they'll like, and, just because a lot of people like MTL, doesn't mean everyone else will.No one is crusading against DL, high wattage or otherwise. We steer more NEW people toward MTL because that more closely resembles what they were used to with cigarettes. This is not because we are zealots or hate DL it is because we would rather convert the smoker into a vaper than send them running away with an overwhelming cloud. We also steer them toward mods and tanks that are more newbie friendly which normally mean regulated mod and a tank with drop in coils. Once they have made the conversion and they are looking for more THEN we can look at things like RDA/RTAs and DL and high wattage. Remember most people are just looking to quit smoking, they aren't looking for a new hobby.
My setup is a mid wattage very loose MTL or lightly restricted DL with just 1 coil and I can tell you from experience that letting a smoker/never vaper try this is overwhelming for them. It's just too much vapor. Way more volume than they are used to. Now, if I had some dual/quad coil hyper DL 200 watt framed alien staples and let a never vaper try it, I would expect most of them would cough their fool heads off and run away screaming "Vaping is WAY WORSE than smoking", and nobody wants that.
I do think there is more stigma toward mechs than there is DL and maybe that is what you are thinking of. Then again if someone comes on here, states they have never vaped and are looking to quit smoking, I do think trying to steer them toward a mech + RDA then telling them they need classes in Ohms Law, battery safety, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and hydrodynamics MIGHT be just a tad overwhelming and could drive them away and back to smoking. MOST people need to take smaller steps. Start with something that more resembles smoking, that is easy, no science degree required. Then add the complexity at a rate they are willing to learn.
It's simply because you don't know how to build coils that lend themselves to be used specifically by a new vaper in a DL RDA at high/medium-high wattage on high VG juices. Good luck with recommending MTL or drop in coils to a new vaper who is heavily sensitive to PG harshness.Very well stated. I haven't met very many new vapers that can handle the hit from a sub ohm device.
When I've helped a curious coworker they always thought my leftover C4 tanks were the bomb.
I never said mech mods should be recommended to new vapers so not sure what you must be getting at here. Further, ease of use should NOT be confounded with quit smoking success rate, and, in addition, you are heavily exaggerating the skill or knowledge it takes to safely start using an RDA on a regulated mod with an experienced shopkeeper in a reputable B&M store showing you in front of your own nose how to build a decent coil, how to wick it up, and how to juice it up. It's the best starting point excepting if you either are a disabled person or are completely too lazy and/or stupid (possibly even stubborn stupid) to learn much of anything. Here is what I don't get about you. You say you "know what you are doing" and seem to understand that a lot of knowledge is needed to safely use mechs and RDA's. You say that you know how much knowledge goes into a proper coil build. THEN you turn around and criticize and demonize anyone that tries to steer the uneducated new people to anything other than a mech with RDA. Doesn't that seem counter intuitive? If it takes all this knowledge that you profess to know, shouldn't we steer new uneducated (in vaping science) people toward the devices that don't need a science degree to operate? Pod systems and regulated devices with drop in coils are just flat easier to use for new people and is a good starting point for pretty much everyone. Once they are ready for something more, then we can broach all the complexities, required knowledge, and hobby aspects.

I can tell you from my experience most smokers who try vaping for their first time by going for MTL or highly restricted low wattage DL are coughing very hard, whereas I didn't cough even a single time despite I started at 80 watts on a pair of handbuilt Nichrome 80 fused claptons in a 25mm RDA that diluted the vapor just enough for me to not start to cough at all. Further, contrary to how you describe the volume was not too big, as I was only taking 1 second pulls. The bottom line is I never was a dual user, and I never experienced any real cravings. Which cannot be said about the vast majority of those who jumped head first into MTL. I'm not saying my strategy is the best choice for everyone. I'm only saying it's a choice that worked wonders for me and others who have testified the same. By eliminating that choice before new people even stand a fair chance to try both choices, you are reducing these people's true chance of success, as dual use is what very often increases the risk of a relapse back to smoking cigarettes even though I'm not saying dual use can always be avoided, nor am saying it always should, but what I definitely am saying is you don't know something until you know. Wich, as a matter of true fact, you don't know because you've simply never tried it, as you are conflating the real DL vape experience with the failed comparison called drop in coils.
Vaping is extremely very different from smoking cigarettes. Trying to mimic smoking by vaping in such a way that it mimics it really closely is, by pure definition alone, driving towards failure even though a lot of people who insist on doing it aren't necessarily going to fail because of it. I happen to know for a fact I would have permanently abandoned vaping if it hadn't been for the fact I steered clear of tanks and drop in coils immediately from the beginning. I couldn't can't chain vape on them because doing that burned out the coil in less than a minute. Even if not chain vaping the vape experience I got from them almost made me want to gag. I couldn't stand the pure harshness of either MTL or highly restricted DL with high nic strength juices. Now that I am vaping at 3mg, highly restricted DL with medium-low or low nic strength juices feels still burning harsh or if I try to lower the wattage it does nothing, like breathing just air with a tiny little bit of background flavor. Kind of like trying to vape my mech with an empty battery, only worse than that. If I were forced to describe it in just 2 words: utterly anemic.
Speaking of getting a new hobby. If I had to choose between stop smoking by vaping either MTL or highly restricted DL. My hobby would still be smoking. Low/medium-low wattage vaping is among primary reasons why I didn't pick up vaping until early 2017 so if you want more people to continue smoking, then by all means, continue your harmful approach of steering them toward MTL.
