Why are a lot of people obsessed with vaping at high W?

I've noticed that I'm slowly creeping up in wattage. When I started I never exceeded 10w. Now, my norm is 15w, with one device at 25w! Perhaps some people just need to keep increasing their level to stay satisfied . Just my 2 cents

It totally depends on your tank or atomizer how high you can go. When I first got myself a MOD and a Nautilus Mini when I finally got up to 12 Watts I was impressed with myself! Woo Hoo but now that same tank is at 10.5W because I found the flavor to be better at that wattage. But then you also need to factor in how many seconds you normally pull for. At 12 watts a few seconds is fine but with 7 to 10 second pulls it get too warm for me.

Yes. Sure. And 2 bags of chips are much better than just one.

Just switched e-Liquids in my Baby Beast and Minions Milk did not taste as good so lowered the wattage 2.5W and have the taste like I remember it. When I switch back in a bit to I Love Coolies To I will raise it back to 30W because that is where it tastes good to me. Still 20% lower than the minimum that SMOK recommends for the coils......

At least with all my friends I know, they all insist I vape at 120W minimum or ideally 150W...but everytime I vape it just get's so warm, they all vape extremely warm and I don't get it, a good 50-70W is perfect for me, and they want me to do 150W with an RDA I just find it crazy
It's a matter of preference, if someone asked you that you should vape at 150w just give them an odd smile. [emoji57] or a newbie look. [emoji4]

As others stated, depends a lot of the tank and the type of coils you have in it, BUT also some liquids are very different from another.

I'll refill my tank with something else and I have to lower or increase my temp setting (or wattage) to get the correct experience to match what I was having with my other liquid (in terms of warmth, flavour coming through correctly and such).

They vape on higher wattage because they don't you don't need absurdly high watts to get a large or very large cloud. I discovered my sweet spot that actually chucks huge clouds. IL just share it. It's on my velocity v2 RDA, dual 22G kanthal 3mm inside diameter, 6 wraps at 65 watts @ .21 ohms. Don't need more than 65 watts and that thing chucks clouds. Obviously this build won't be the same on every RDA.

@ almost 18a, you will be replacing batteries often.
Not saying that build is dangerous, just saying it unnecessarily diminishes battery life.
Probably would get pretty much the same cloud with a 0.4 ohm build @ 65w..

    Add:
For me personally, I found that 0.5 @ 40w was the point of diminishing return simply because of lung capacity, and that seemed to hold true with a verity of RDAs/builds. (roughly 1/2 the amps of that .21 build @ 65w)

    Add again:
What's funny is that when I was new to vaping the "latest & greatest" had a 2.5 amp limiter.

PG is definitely a flavor carrier. VG at 10W is kind of blah in flavor and extreme on vapor volume. PG at 10W delivers flavor and a little throat hit with a low vapor level. 70pg/30vg is a mix you can vape just about anywhere without worrying about being stared at.

Whatever turns you on is where you should be. We all have our little set of preferences. One size never fits all.
