I'm the worst offender in the banter department, I know. I also like to slip real info in here and there when I have it - or when I BELIEVE I have it, anyway.

Something inside me just cringes at the thought of technical discussion so dry and unpalatable that one's brain shrinks away from the comments involuntarily before comprehension of what is typed there sinks in, and I reflexively write like I speak in real life.


If nothing else my contributions keep the threads active.

Now that I got my answer I can reply to the OP... and thank you for starting the thread BTW... its been a pleasure (thanks EvilZoe for shakin things up) and its made me think about my posts too. I know I've done what you've addressed and think I've hit the reason. I do it when I view the OP as about to make what I consider a mistake. I never learned that it doesn't work... or did learn but can't accept it. Did it with my kids and still doing it here. Still trying to make it work. But this OP reflects how they took it too. ;-) I don't think that definition of insanity... doing the same thing expecting different results... applies though. I think my signature does.
