In answer to the original question... For me, I've always been a champion of smokers rights, and all rights we have to make choices as individuals. I have never, and hopefully will never, accept individual behavior being regulated. I believe we need to be more tolerant of each other in general.
Case in point... I don't smoke any more. I am consistently placed in situations where I am around people who are smoking. I don't like the smell, I don't want the second-hand, etc... But I recognize that those smokers should have a right to smoke in designated smoking areas, and I have just as much right to not stand near it. Some times it's unavoidable, but there are always in life going to be situations that are unpleasant... and unavoidable.
I'm getting off track here... We all need to be more tolerant of the rights of any individual to do whatever they want, with their bodies. We blame others too much for things, when we do worse to ourselves. I'm sick to death of watching a 300 lb man order two McDonald's value meals with one drink, then yell at a smoker for "killing him" with his smoke... it's insane!
Ok, hopefully you get my point... We all need to be more responsible and tolerant. Period.
