This thread seems to be a little childish. People are making fun of others is NOT ok... We are ALL adults here if not you shouldn't be on here. When you are looking to sell your mod remember this when you ask for 85% for the price. I think people here feel a community here. They want to help there fellow vapor. A few dollars to people matter.

Bottom line instead of making fun and writing weird comments about car saleman dream customer. If you don't like the price DON'T buy!

BTW I have not purchased or sold an item here before, however I am in sales which is why I find your comments childish. This is the standard on this site. When you sell an item go and sell it at 50% off. I think the op wrote it in a curious way and then a few people felt the need to be childish... Have fun with that. Remember you are acting like a child ONLINE that is just a whole sad situation in itself

GET A GRIP !!! childish comments on this site is the standard on this site ??
that would also make you a childish participant also..would it not

oh,,you are the only one here to inject a testosterone hyped comment so far

Here & There
I need a rise in my nicotine strength just reading this thread and it seems like I am not alone  Man leave well enough alone if you don't like the prices take your own suggestion and buy it new. I happen to agree with you to a certain extent but why incite people over something you can choose not to partake in?

Buying and selling stuff is what brought me to this site. I was new and did not know what I wanted/needed. Buying something used and giving it a try really helped me. I also have been able to pass on stuff that was gold to someone else, that just was not for me.

As far as some mod prices, it works for me. Some well made/limited run/discontinued stuff does hold its value. Would I be mad if someone was selling a discontinued mod for more than new? Heck no, if I want it, I'll buy it. I have made some great purchases and trades on ECF. I like nice things, don't mind paying for them.

The behavior in this thread needs to be straightened out a bit.

We do not insult other members.

7. Courtesy
Members must be polite at all times. When addressing another Forum user, you will be polite. Courteous discussion is welcome here but heated and abusive argument is not.

8. Personal attacks
You can disagree with the subject matter of a post, but never personally attack the poster - “Attack the post, not the poster”. Treat people as you would like to be treated yourself: with courtesy.

Opinions are just that - opinions. As long as people can state them without making personal attacks there is no rule that says they have to agree with you. If you think this is offensive might I suggest checking into some other forums and seeing just how tame ECF is in comparison.

With all that said knock off the childish behavior in this thread. If you have something to say be constructive or find another place to post, there are over two hundred thousand other threads to choose from.

Whitetortuga, I've typed and deleted a half dozen responses at this point and I can't seem to express my feelings without coming across as condescending or insulting. It is truly not my intent.

I've been a part of many online 'communities' for many years. I've seen people devote countless man-hours and dollars for the good of the community. I've also seen many people taken advantage of in the process. Simply put, I feel that if it truly was in a 'community' spirit, the sale price would be reasonable to begin with. If a respected member is truly in need, the community, and that persons true friends will step up to help them out. I can't drum up any sympathy for someone who is just making room for a new toy in their collection, they're just trying to make a buck and it's me vs. them. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just business.

I hope it's understood that I'm not bashing anyone or this community. I'm one of those people who try to keep friends and business very well separated.

Hey man, no offense taken! You are right, there is a difference between putting money into the communities pocket, and a pocket of fellow members.. Let me digress a bit to possibly make myself more clear:

Lets just say I wanted a lavatube ($100), and I posted an add on the classifieds. I remember a lot of the people that helped me out over these few months. My questions have been (what seem) ridiculous, constant, and at times demanding. Most people have showed nothing but patients, and have even taken the time to chat with me one on one. Now lets say one of those people say they have one they want to sell because they want a Provari. In this case, I see no troubles giving them $75-$80. They are helping me, and I am helping them. Most likely, they would throw in a few bottles of e-juice just for good measure. This is what I have come to expect from this community. You are right though, people will abuse this system. Then again, these are most likely the people who haven't taken the time to help me.

Some do, some don't. Some drop value immediately, as they are relatively easy to find.

Some are hard to find, and durable. I've seen new and used GGTS units beside each other, and couldn't tell which was which. And new ones aren't available very often- that makes a used one, even at new price, appeal to some.

Personally, I haven't bought used mods, but I can see why some do...

Best,
Ande

I just don't get why you guy's pay so much for used products  I don't need to feel better about myself I couldn't be happier at all. I quit smoking and with the money I am saving from that helped me get a 40% scale RC plane in like new condition for 3,800.00 New cost 5,500.00! I know nobody that pay's 95%+ for used anything unless it is hard to acquire. Provari's are not hard to acquire!

Some people just enjoy buying and selling. There's a little thing called ebay.

I guess I have thicker skin than others. I have no idea how that one poster came up with I am childish unless they think flying rc planes is childish then I would agree. Men are childish when it comes to our toy's

If you feel it is a good deal to pay 90% + for used mods go ahead and buy it but I will be laughing and if that offends you I am sorry. Last time I checked the rules I never saw one that said I couldn't laugh

I can understand that some may enjoy that but me I only buy used if the savings outweigh the risk.

If the savings outweigh the risk, or if the opportunity does. I'd buy a used Katana in a heartbeat.

As far as I know, that's the only kind there is. Some things you can't find new- they REALLY hold their value.

Some things you can, but it's a PITA with a lot of waiting. Second hand prices come up accordingly.

Best,
Ande
