How does it not taste burnt doing that? If my coil resistance reads 2.1 I can't go above 4.4 volts or it tastes burnt. Like I said, my husband has a 50w VV/VW device. He's more interested in making clouds. What kind of tank/coil would he need to up the wattage?

You've got to have a tank that has a lot more airflow to use higher wattage or you will get a burnt taste. When I used to vape protanks and t3s tanks I really couldn't go over 4-5 watts without a burnt taste. But a few months ago, I drilled out the air holes in a t3s and suddenly I could vape it at 9-10 watts. Plus the flavor was so much better.

You need a tank with the juice flow and air flow to handle the wattage you give it.

Like??? Just give me some names so I have a starting point to look into. Either on my Provari 2.5 or my husbands 50w (have no idea what brand it is). If I could get a slightly warmer vape from the Provari and go above 4.4 volts I'd like to try it.

Actually none of these "labels" are intentional to segregate who is who, but more just out of fun. Take bowling for example, there are 20 teams all with silly or descriptive names for the sake of fun and identity, but they are not different, they are all bowlers. I think some just take the labeling thing just a bit too far....it is just words....sticks and stones!
your comparison does not work because bowling teams choose their names. bullying is fun for those who do it but not for their victims.but those who need to use derogatory names to tear others down are just showing the world that they know that they are losers who need to tear others down to feel good about themselves.I'M a vaper. call me anything else and your just telling me you have nothing of value to say and I would be wasting my time talking to you

Actually Modwhomper for certain and if I am not mistaken Tootle puffer were names created by the same people, not created by a person wishing to bully etc.

I bought the 2.5
So you have what I have. My suggestion, based on the very limited experience I have, is to get a subtank. Then you have a tank that is good for everything the Provari can put out. That is why I totally retired the Nautiluses. No matter what you buy, it would be better at more power than the Provari can put out, but I can't tell you what could be more optimum at 14W or so. I just know I was happy. Until I got a couple 50W mods.

Agreed, tootle translated into modern English just means leisurely.

If somebody wanted to bully me by calling me a leisure Vaper I'd probably just look at them funny.

What are the benefits of having a sub ohm tank for the Provari wich is only 15w? I was looking at the Atlantis subtank that is .5ohms and says 20-30 watts. Wouldn't that be over kill for what I have? Other than a warmer vape, what else will it do? Dare I say.... bigger clouds?

I have a Kanger Subtank using the 1.2ohm coils at 14w and it is quite nice. I prefer my kayfun lite + or my Russian 91%v2 at 2ohms 9W.

tootle puffer was first used by cloud chasers and several people here have stated that they find the term derogatory. which is what it was originally meant to be.modwhomper seems to be a relatively new term and I have no knowledge of its origin.but clearly some people find the title tootle puffer to be insulting which is what it was originally meant to be.I vape so therefore i am a vaper. some black rappers use the word ...... as a term of endearment but that does not change the fact that that word is derogatory and insulting.

I just tested my Atlantis on my SVD 2 @ 13w and all I got was a wisp of vapor, no heat w/ full airflow, closed it off to the small port and got just a little more vapor, the rest the same. I suppose I could max out the power, but figured....why!

I originally started with a Blu vaporizer after having major spinal surgery (a 13 hour procedure, 2 weeks in the hospital, meningitis, a picc line, and IV antibiotics every 8 hours for 3 weeks). I was told before my surgery to quit smoking, and smoked up until midnight the night before my procedure. I didn't smoke at all for the 2 weeks in the hospital, and managed to hold out for the 3 weeks after I got home. However, I picked it up again "here and there" and before I knew was pack to a pack every other day, sometimes a pack a day.

My husband begged me to try an electronic cigarette if I was going to continue smoking, because as I'm sure most are well aware, smoking can seriously impede the body's ability to heal, and even cause a failed procedure, which neither of us wanted. So he bought me the Blu started pack. I liked the idea of it, but it sucked. Inconsistent vapor. Poor battery life. A whole host of reasons actually.

That's when I went to an actuall vape store and bought a "starter kit" - an Eleaf iStick Mini with a Nautalus mini. I started at 18mg's of nicotine and found it a bit strong so I went down to 12. I'm now facing more surgery and today I'm cigarette free for one month.

I have no desire to make huge clouds. I have no desire to build my own coils, or build anything really. I have no desire to own a 150 watt device. Infact, I prefer just the variable voltage only devices (simpler for my noobish ways). I'm more of a flavor chaser that requires the nicotine to keep me from craving a cig. With a great flavor and the right nicotine content I've stayed away from cigarettes for a month.

I'm not really sure what sub ohming is, or what it does. I use the 1.8ohm BVC coils in my Nauty mini and am happy with them.

All I wanted is a long battery life, the ability to adjust voltage to get the best tasting vape, and for it to be consistent right down to the last drop of battery power.

I'm pretty sure I'm a mouth to lung inhaler. Maybe direct lung? I like a decent throat hit to remind me of the cigs.

So by all accounts that makes me a tootle puffer? What is wrong with that? IS there something wrong with it? I can't tell if it's a term of endearment or a derogatory term.

If it's the latter, quite frankly I don't care. I'm doing what works for me. My tastes may evolve as I become more experienced and branch out and try different devices and methods. I'm interested in dripping as I've heard the flavor is great, but I don't care about the amount of vapor.

So what category does this drop me into? Not that it really matters. My local vape shop is very good to me and has never made a comment one way or another, nor have any of the customers we've hung out with.

So... is tootle puffing a term of endearment, or a derogatory term used for those of us not into big clouds and building our own gear?
Sounds like you're doing fine, to me!
If you like the gear ya' got and it's working for you, you have everything you need!
Enjoy!

I was just going to ask if there was a subtank that used coils above 1ohm. After a quick read I don't really want to up my juice consumption and shorten my battery life. Are all "subtanks" capable of going below 1ohm? Which ones allow you to stay in that 1.2ohm range?

I have a different take. Tootle Puffer was coined as a fun thing, and then people with no sense of humor came along and tried to make a PC thing out of it. Some people go looking for insults under every rock, and under every Tootle Puffer :)

I like my kayfun and my EK V2 at 1.3 ohms but that seems to be as low as I can go without getting a hot vape.airflow and juice flow are limiting factors. my protank 2 gives me great flavor and good vapor production at 2.0 ohms I have been considering getting a subtank style tank with the rebuild able deck but wonder if it has enough airflow to give a cool vape at 0.5 ohms on a mechanical mod $12.10 SUBTANK Mini Styled OCC Clearomizer - 4.5ml / RBA coil head 0.5ohm / stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping for the price its worth trying.I can always stick a 1.2 ohm coil in there if I need to.I am also drilling out one of my EK V3 to get mote airflow but that metal is hard. just ordered a few #55 black oxide coated drill bits. this metal just laughs at high speed metal drills

Honestly I think all the sub ohm tanks are pointless if you enjoy MTL vaping.

That said, Kanger makes 1.2 and 1.5ohm heads. I don't know of any others.

kanger make a 1.2 ohm coil that works on their sub tanks same body as the 0.5 ohm coils. drop in replacements. some kits come with both the 0.5 and 1.2 ohm coils
