Why is "tootle puffing" a bad thing.. or is it?

I was just going to ask if there was a subtank that used coils above 1ohm. After a quick read I don't really want to up my juice consumption and shorten my battery life. Are all "subtanks" capable of going below 1ohm? Which ones allow you to stay in that 1.2ohm range?

I have a subtank with a 1.8 ohm coil in the RBA deck. Works fine. The Kanger Subtank is capable of going to 0.5 ohms or less (I forget if there is an exact number because I don't go below 0.5 myself).
The thing is that there is no free lunch with the juice. If you want more vape than the Nautilus Mini gives, you are going to burn juice to get it. So the subtank will probably burn more juice no matter how low you try to throttle it, but it will probably always put out more vape too.

Personally I chain vape all day, and I burn about 10-15ml of juice a day. I make my own juice, it costs me 3.5 cents per ml, and I've never tried hard to throttle the subtanks back. If I bought juice I would be concerned but then again I would be concerned about vaping anything beyond a Nautilus, I guess. I've put a lot of effort into getting to a place where I'm not spending more on vaping than I did on 2-3 PAD of cigs (at $3/pack most of the time).

I like my kayfun and my EK V2 at 1.3 ohms but that seems to be as low as I can go without getting a hot vape.airflow and juice flow are limiting factors. my protank 2 gives me great flavor and good vapor production at 2.0 ohms I have been considering getting a subtank style tank with the rebuild able deck but wonder if it has enough airflow to give a cool vape at 0.5 ohms on a mechanical mod $12.10 SUBTANK Mini Styled OCC Clearomizer - 4.5ml / RBA coil head 0.5ohm / stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping for the price its worth trying.I can always stick a 1.2 ohm coil in there if I need to.I am also drilling out one of my EK V3 to get mote airflow but that metal is hard. just ordered a few #55 black oxide coated drill bits. this metal just laughs at high speed metal drills

thank you for your input. with the rebuild able deck i can build it for any resistance I want but good to know that it has enough airflow for 32 watt use. and it may be an interesting addition to my collection. you can never have too many tanks

I have a 2ohm coil in mine, run it at 12W when I'm feeling rowdy

Ah... doesn't look like any Provari I've seen, though granted, that's not many. I suppose the titanium makes it very lightweight? My Achilles are so light it's like they're made of aluminum!

My Provari 2.5 weighs 170.2g in 18650 mode, the P3Ti weighs 124g. With batteries installed.

I also used to also think that way crxess but in the end vapers are people too and people look for community. Since there have been threads for Tooltle Puffers, WompRats and cloud chasers on ECF I've noticed this place has calmed down a bit. There isn't as much friction anymore between people who prefer different styles of vaping.

So for now I think it's been a good thing and as long as the sub-groups don't start getting on each others case it will continue that way. Time will tell, but it's looking good so far

Really?
The truth is, it's much too easy now to buy replaceable head sub tanks and just go at it.
If you enjoy what ya' got, why jump?
There's a lot more to going sub than buying gear.
Wanna be safe and enjoy your vape?
LEARN what you're stepping into, first. Learn battery safety, OHMS law; heck, know what your gear is, what it does, how it does it and what you need and need to know.
Just because some company with something to sell tells you it's safe, doesn't mean you're safe.
It has become much too easy to "go low."
Not only isn't subbing necessary to enjoy vaping, it can be dangerous if you don't have the knowledge and experience.
If you've got basic gear and you're happy, don't succumb to Pop culture peer pressure. Take your time to learn before you advance.

Since the subject of the subtank has come up I will throw it out that the subtank mini v2 now has smaller air flow holes that work very well for tootle puffers. Big improvement over the original version which was largely geared to high watt use.

Modwhomper actually came about out of our sense of humor, just searching for a name/moniker, it really pertains to nothing, sort of a Jerry Seinfeld thing. We do not fit into any one style in particular and we do not hold ones style against them. We welcome all. But we do tend to fit somewhere in the middle between a tootle puffer, which is as close to emulating smoking and high powered cloud chasers. We tend to be in the 1 ohm to 1.8 ohm range with an occasion to drop to .05 ohms and power levels in the 10 to 30w range....give or take. We like a fair amount of flavor along with a good vapor...I guess in terms of tobacco users, puffers are cigarette smokers and whompers are cigar smokers, figuratively speaking. I think that is a fair analogy.

And many of us are just flat out crazy, I can attest to this as I am an expert in the field of such behavior!View attachment 472194

well that airflow control valve gives you a lot of options. i've run my EK V2s with 1.8 ohms but had to block 3 of the air intake holes with the AFC. at 1.2 ohms I run the AFC wide open.just ordered one of those subtanks with the rebuildable deck and am looking forward to playing with it.my orchid V3 and V4 have no AFC which really limits the range of coils I can run. I prefer mechanical mads so I build my coils for the power I want to run.

a dremel tool with diamond bits can fix those small air holesjust because it was born stock does not mean it has to stay that way
