I've been wondering for a while now why I like my KR808D-1 better than my IGo - and why some other vapers have stated that they prefer their 808's to EGo's-Rivas-mods. I think it may have a lot to do with how you smoked and what your mind & body expect from vaping.

I was a heavy smoker for over 37 years, at least a pack a day, sometimes two packs. My cigs were my friends; I was never without them. I got depressed when I couldn't have them, for whatever reason. I smoked primarily charcoal cigarettes (Lark, Tareyton, Parliament). Where the IGo misses the mark for me is the low temp of the heat, the difficulty of the draw, and the watered-down taste of the liquid. The 808, on the other hand, hits it exactly right. I know this is not a popular opinion, but I would pick the 808 over the IGo hands-down. I don't care that I need to have more batteries on hand. It's not how long the battery lasts that's important to me: it's the quality of the vape.

I think that some people crave the vapor more than the throat hit; some focus on the hand-to-mouth habit; some really need to feel the pv between their fingers because that's comforting, and others (like me) need a very strong taste, fairly high heat, strong throat hit and great flavor. Vapor doesn't matter much to me. Whatever particular experience you craved when you smoked is sort of what you crave when you vape. (Flavors aside, of course.)

That's the only explanation I can come up with to explain how bewildered I am when people diss my beloved VaporKing KR808D-1 and dismiss it as somehow lacking. For me, it's the others that are lacking what I need. And for some of the newbies out there who are asking for suggestions, telling them to avoid the KR808 is a bad idea. They may be like me and many others who find that they really hit the spot.

I hope this makes sense. It's late and I'm tired.

One thing I never hear us suggest to the new kids is back ups. Most of us have tons of back ups and a junk drawer for a reason. I've been through two chargers and a battery in this last month. A plug in PCC AND a usb charger or just a couple usb chargers are quite, quite welcome when one kicks the bucket. We all learn quickly how this stuff is a lifesaver, that breaks all the darn time.

I think back-ups might be best put off for a while after purchasing your first kit. You might just discover that the kit you heard somebody praising to the heavens is in fact, a totally worthless piece of junk. Or worse, that e-cigs just ain't cuttin' it for ya. Although it seems to me that the folks who decide that e-cigs just aren't all that, are the ones that bought the wrong kit in the first place. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt and the Blu cigs starter kit to prove it. Well, I did have the Blu kit. I got over it.
It would be a shame to buy some pricey back-ups and accessories for something that will end up in your trash bin.

Get your kit, decide whether or not you like it, THEN spend a pile of cash on the extras and back-ups when you find the system that works for you

Y'know, I've read the thread (ok, maybe I skimmed it), but I missed where somebody said the 808 is a bad idea in this thread. Actually, I've only seen a few posts where people have suggested something other than a cig like (mini if you will) pv. Must be cuz I'm tired too.

No, not in this thread in particular - but in general here in the New Members area. I often see would-be vapers being told to avoid the KR808 and go for a Reo or Ego. That's bad advice, in my opinion.
