I like the Volcano kit . It has a nice PCC, uses the 306 atty and comes in white or black. These are auto batteries, but for me, it was a good way to learn the control for drawing slower to make bigger clouds of vapor and not suck the juice out of the cartridge. This is a quality kit and is very reliable. The new PCC holds an assembled ecig, a spare batt and one on the charger; plus 5 carts. That's a total of three batteries, six carts and up to six attys. Hope this helps.. Good luck.

Yea, but I bet you never walked around in 5 inch heels that killed your feet but looked great! Sometimes our priorities are slightly different. You guys don't have to understand it, just roll with it.

I'm pretty sure you'd all rather go back to smoking cigarettes then see me in 5 inch heels, but generally I'll try anything twice so careful what you wish for lol ;)

The only reason I even jumped in this thread, is because I'm sick of people like the op asking about cig style stuff, and getting nothing but "you don't know what you're talking about, buy an ego" crap posted all over it. Its like the thought of a strong performing small PV is simply unthinkable to some people. I for one would take my bloog/volt over an ego any day of the week, because if I wanted to carry something around that looked like a pipe bomb, it better crank out at least true 3.7 or more.

I read all the same stuff, everyone saying not to bother with the cigarette styles...but I had my heart set on it so in the end I decided to watch videos of people actually using different hardware and settled on the Volt too.

The person who is responsible for my trying e-cigs told me not to bother with anything other than an ego 510, but I knew right outta the gate that it wasn't for me. I am just as addicted to the habit as the nicotine. I needed as close as possible to the real deal if my brain was gonna give up it's hold on the idea that I have to have a cigarette. And I want to use mine in front of other people in public without being harassed, so looking discreet and more like a real cigarette was a plus in my book.

I love mine so far. I haven't had a Pall Mall in a week since the first time I picked up my volt. I'm not saying I won't ever try any other hardware, I'm sure I will eventually if for no other reason than I feel like a kid who hasn't even been inside the candy store yet....but I'm totally happy with what I have now it is perfect for me and has exceeded my expectations. If you get a kit with extra battery and portable charger, the battery life is a non-issue but mine lasts me almost all day on one anyway. I get plenty of vapor, and the cartomizers seem to have the best reviews by far even from folks who use other suppliers for the rest of their stuff.

If you want to try something that is a real low price investment GoodProphets now sells the GreenSmartLiving basic 510 kit for $12.99. It comes with 1 white battery, a USB charger, and 2 tan cartos (menthol are green). Total investment for 2: $25 + shipping.

For the price you can't beat it. Its very reliable and mimics the cig experience pretty well. Vapor production is pretty good considering the cartos are filled with 100% PG juice.

This was my first PV and it got me off the analogs within a week.

At the end of the day the ecig needs to suit the needs of the individual. If the needs of that person are for an ecig that looks, feels and weighs the same as an analogue then so be it. That is why the suggestions for the super minis (BLU, volcano, intelicig etc) are all good ones.

We are all different, all want to try these relatively new devices and for the vast majority of us coming from a 20 a day analogue habits, the transition from cigarettes to ecigs is already enough of a barrier to entry without further barriers being out up in the form and function of suggested devices. It does not surprise me at all that smokers just trying these this want something that looks like their existing cigarettes. I know I did when I started.

Noones being 'wrong' in this thread or giving out 'bad advice' as such, though some may wish to consider the original threads requirements. It needs to look and feel as much like a real cig as possible. In that instance a super mini kit is really, the only serious option to consider. You gotta think back to when you first started out, what would have convinced you to make the switch? Sonething which looks like a silver electric toothbrush or yes, something which looks like your existing cigarette habit?

Bloog max fusion and the volt are new generation 808s, supposed to be pretty popular though I have no clue on pricing. I recently saw that NHaler is starting to carry "M.F." compatible products, which I suspect are the same new gen tech.

Standard KR808D-1 cartomizers should work fine with the new gen 808 batteries.

I didn't have issues with the base KR808D-1 batteries, so wouldn't be willing to pay much of a premium for the new tech ones. On the other hand, if they work for people, at whatever price they're willing to pay, nothing wrong with that; in mods you also get a wide disparity of prices, ,but if someone is willing to pay XXX for a product it is by definition worth it to them.

I would agree with swedishfish's suggestion, however, you may want her to look at options herself before you order. I thought that I wanted either a black or white automatic when I considered vaping and I was stuck on that, until I saw the shiny, green 510 mega kit. I fell in love with the look of it just because it was my favorite color.

Another option is getting a 510 kit with the brown-speckled cartos that resemble the filter on an analog. I personally would get her a disposable and then invest in a full kit if she thinks she will take to it.

That I want to see.:shock::lol:

An ego looks like a pipe bomb? I can't say I've ever seen a pipe bomb, but mine's the size of a sharpie and sorta cute!

I have a mini I use if I walk the dog or go to the gym and throw it in my gym bag. I'm all about convenience and like longer batteries.

Lol highest bidder gets a creepy picture of me in heels!

Pipe bomb may be a stretch with the ego lol, all I'm saying is that if appearance isn't important, I would sooner jump right it to a 3.7v or higher tube mod as opposed to an ego. An ego IMO just seems like an under powered small mod. I guess I did overlook the cute factor lol, my girlfriend wants a pink reo mini, not because she likes bottom feeders or read about how great they are, just because it's little and pink and she thinks it's cute lol!

Everyone has there own preference, and it's part of what makes vaping and ecf so great! And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if it's big, small, cute or super ugly, as long as she is comfortable using it, and hopefully has success!

Actually I have but that is a story for another time.

I also want to point out that while everyone is focusing on tan carts /cartos there are a number of analogs with white filters. I know parliaments for sure as I used to smoke them when I was a Parliament Party Zone model/rep and I'm pretty sure there are others as well.

I am a noob vaper. I got over that need for a look-a-like real smoke - really quick. Within a few days of reading this forum.

My suggestion - order those look alikes and get that 510 you are looking at, too. She will want that 510 (or upgrade) really quick after vaping a few days. Get a few juices that you think she may enjoy (the heavier ones seem better for us noobs) like Vanilla - Those look-alikes have a 30 day return - money back - which I am heading to the post office today to return.

My neighbor has the look-a-likes and she is the one who turned me on to vaping. My eGo-T came last weekend. On Monday 7/4 I took it over to her to - test drive. She can't WAIT to get her hands on an upgrade. I tried to tell her - don't order anything else until we see what this eGo-T can do. Did she listen? No. Is she disappointed? HECK YES!!

I'm still new, and I love that my 808 batteries are shiny purple and shiny blue and shiny chrome. The pretty colors make it more fun for me, while still giving me the "simple" feel that's not too different from cigarettes. Fun definitely helps me. So does simple.

So I agree - show her some options so she can pick what appeals to her. She might surprise herself.

oh thats been a bug up my .... for awhile now lol.

i've been at this for a year, i havent moved on from my 808 nor do i intend to. i don't need a big battery, if i'm draining them left and right then i've got a serious addiction issue that something larger would only feed into. im perfectly satisfied and dont feel like i'm missing out on anything by not moving on from my humble model.

frankly, and this may be heresy, i think big batteries, mods and all that look stupid. they look dopey and people look dopey using them. you're replacing a cigarette, not competing to see how much and how long you can pump yourself full of nicotine :p i think alot of it is also just a pure highschool "ooh look what i bought/can afford" ...... contest. saying you use a 510 isn't as sexy as bragging about the brand new, bleeding edge, limited edition mod you just bought.

to the op, the cig models work just fine as long as you go for the 510s or the 808s, anything smaller is just useless.
