Update from Paul Blair who had a meeting with the OMB scheduled for Friday, here is what he got, the important part is "Since the rule is no longer under review". I suspect an announcement is imminent probably this week. IMHO it will not be good news but whatever it is, has to go be be signed, then a review, law suits will be filed etc.

Everyone's got canceled. Dimitris had an appointment too. Conley also. All canceled. :(

I am guessing this means the 9K per liter tax bill on nic is going to pass...

I think if what we're hoping (call the White House again!) shakes out, then we're only talking about dodging the death of an immediate flavor ban. More positive news might be that, at some level, some in Washington have acknowledged that vaping has helped smokers become ex-smokers. And that our lives do have value. And perhaps we should not be driven back to the arms of big tobacco, or for harvest by big pharma. However, doubt we are done; both profit and puritantical concerns are still aligned against our health and best interests.

You know what's pretty flavorless.. Vaping a vape without batteries that's what. LOL don't ask.

It's so LATE already. I shall plough through these alerts and get GOING. But, also, like, we will see with the politicians the lot of them.

Contractor madness is causing the husband to remain in Tucson. This means I only have to clean up to my standards, not his. I do have several INESCAPBLE chores, however. LOL.

It will also force flavored-nicotine vapers onto a black market that has lately been killing people.
This was not for normal e-juice, so no worries there. Just need to diy mix "food flavorings" (which is already the case). Bakery shops will get madly rich. But, hopefully, the government will wake up and become sensible (I know, I'm laugh/crying internally as well).

I will do my best to not write any political stuff. I will simply start imagining that the Giant Spaghetti Monster in the sky is doing this
I thought religion was not allowed either? :p

As for freezing nic, PG is better as it doesn't freeze and keeps its density, so it's easier to mix right out of the freezer. Unless you're mixing by weight, then you need to wait until it reaches room temperature (not actually sure how much it would differ, but I do it for good measure). Flavorings degrade if you freeze them, though, so if you're living in a warm climate the refrigerator should be good.

Trouble is some food flavorings are good, some aren't. Some contain oil. Some probably don't taste good vaped. Etc. Today we get flavors that have been selected for vaping by people who to some extent know what they are doing.

Some vapers would come here are compare notes and figure out which food flavors are OK to vape. But a lot of folks would just go to the supermarket and pick something off the shelf. There have been questions here over the years from vapers asking if it would be OK to use something they saw at the food store. There was even a guy who wanted to know if it was OK to use olive oil because he had run out of VG and was broke and wouldn't get paid until the end of the week.

I do see problems if flavors are banned and people improvise.

I talked to Flavor West and they say it's business as usual.

Raining but my day suddenly seems brighter!

This article from yesterday evening seems an attempted clarification on Conway's comments. Don't see any sources and couched with phrases like "possible exemption". However, seems that DC has recognized they'll going to get hit by a ....-storm from vapers. Includes quote from Greg Conley.

Federal ban on flavored vape products expected soon
Another possible exemption could be vaping products sold in vape stores rather than convenience stores, which is where the under-aged youth who are the focus of the ban often shop. In March, former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb proposed banning flavors other than tobacco in convenience stores, but said more would have to be done if youth vaping rates continued to rise.
President Trump announced in September that flavors other than tobacco would be banned, which prompted a torrent of lobbying from pro-vaping groups and users. As the Administration appeared to soften on an outright ban, opponents of vaping also stepped up their vocal opposition to such a move.
She then made a distinction between vaping and electronic cigarettes. "I think we should all stop using vaping and e-cigarettes interchangeably. They are different."
Conway also appeared to suggest vape shops might be exempted because regulators don't have authority over them.

“So HHS has, and FDA have jurisdiction over cigarettes and e-cigarettes under the Tobacco Control Act. They do not have jurisdiction over vaping and vape shops, for example," she said. "So, if we’re talking about e-cigarettes, the President, yes, he’s been discussing this with his team and he will, or the HHS, will make an announcement soon."
Conway drew a bright line between enforcement and the age of users.

"The demarcation is really kids and adults," said Conway. "And we're very focused on the burgeoning health care crisis among kids."

Perhaps what the FDA plans to do is ban flavored cartridges everywhere, based on the premise that Juul-like products are the ones preferred by teenaged vapers, while allowing flavored e-liquids used in open-system devices. [...] that distinction would not draw a line between different categories of retailers, and it would not rely on a new understanding of the agency's [i.e. FDA's] authority.

Thanks coldgin. Both interesting and plausible

Found the Rosetta Stone for translating Kellyanne Conway's comments:

What’s the difference between a vape and an e-cigarette?

Translated this means:

e-cigarette = cigalikes
vape = mods with replaceable batteries and a refillable tank or atomizer

E-cigarettes are defined as looking like a "longer" cigarette and being pod or cartridge-based ; includes Blu, Juul, and Logic; Typically seen behind the counter at a mini-mart or convenience store.

Vapes are defined as having larger battery area, e-liquid placed into a tank, and refillable with more e-liquid as the tank gets low (rather than discarding a cartridge or pod like an e-cigarette). Tend to have longer battery life than e-cigarettes. Typically bought at a vape shop with a wide variety of available flavor options.
