I'll coop for springs.
Is this coop for the ScubaGen3 ?
Ok stop all searching for springs if you are in the SCUBAGEN3 CO-OP, a member has stepped forward (mjmetz,) He will be helping me package springs, we have worked out a way to have everyone that is ordering a unit to get 2 spring per unit. So you will receive a plastic bag in your shipment with 2 spring per unit you ordered at no cost to you. This is a great forum with outstanding people!
Thanks mjmetz for stepping up to do the bagging!

caillel - hopefully this isn't an intrusion - thought it might be good to keep all our leads for hardware in one place.
I've been searching for washers and found these at McMaster-Carr. Specs appear ok. The wire nails I've found were a 7/64" head so the additional ID shouldn't present a problem. I won't know for sure until all the parts get to the same place so this is mainly for info. at this point. These are 5.45 per pack of 12 so not particularly cheap for the washer world and they're actually a disc spring. I'm also getting an equivalent size in a wave washer which may work.

McMaster-Carr #9712K52
Shape Belleville
Material Type Steel
Finish Plain
Belleville Shape Non-Serrated
Inside Diameter .093"
Outside Diameter .187"
Minimum Thickness .01"
The male side of a spherical washer looked ideal, but I haven't been able to find any small enough. If anyone finds good parts, post them up.
If it helps, you're looking for something in the #0 to #1 range on the washers. The wire nail is 1/2" x 19ga. which should have about a .042" OD.
I already have wire nails for everyone, we just need to find a compatable washer. That one is too thin it should be 1mm thick or .0395" (.04") Optimum is 1mm ID x 5mm OD x 1mm thick or (.04" x .2" x .04")

Right, and the nails are everywhere, I just included the measurements rather than track back to the other thread. My logic was to find something for the folks that say they don't have experience. After looking, it seems it would be easier to thicken than grind down to size (esp. if you don't have the tools). Wish I could have found a match... don't know how many sites I went through. I'm also concerned the bevel may not be deep enough... I think it's okay there, but not convinced yet.
From looking at your specs, I think the problem will be getting the spring to compress enough with the thinner washer. Finding parts to stack may solve that without the machining. If I'm wrong on the washer thickness effecting the compression let me know... I'd hate to think I had it ready just to go back to the beginning on arrival.
tillis, thank you so much for looking into this for us. I can't answer for everyone but I would prefer to purchase enough for 6 wicks for each of my 2 mods. I figure there will be a learning curve (mistakes) until I get it correct. I do want to be part of the co-op and would be willing to help any way I can. Thanks again to you and everyone working on this. I am just a bit overwhelmed right now thinking about assembling this mod.....it will be interesting to say the least. I just wonder how frustrated I can get.![]()
