You are in good company!! At times, the learning curve was steep and expensive, but I passed the one year mark on April 20. Never thought that would happen after 30+ years of 1.5 packs a day of Marlboro Reds.
After much prodding from my side, I managed to get one of my golf buddies to try e cigs. I had a bunch of 510 manual mega batteries that were sitting in my drawer occupying space. My thought was to give him the 510's and a charger and have him order some pre-filled and blank cartos along with some juice rather than introduce him to dripping or atomizers with carts. I have only DIY juices which I like, but the object was to get him a broad spectrum of stuff which was readily available on the marketplace. I do not even use tobacco flavors any longer.
So he came over to my house, and I explained how everything worked. Now, this man is anything but a dummy. He has a Masters in Chemical Eng and was chief engineer at a world famous food company. I have taught at the graduate school level and have two Master's myself. My teacher ratings were always at the top. Yet, one could not miss the look of bewilderment on his face when we went on line to a major vendor: dozens of flavors, carts, cartomizers, batteries, accessories, etc.
A novice is going to have a hard time with the e cig. It takes real perseverance and motivation. Mine was not even caused by health reasons: I am fit a a fiddle, take NO medications whatsoever, have a constant 120/80 blood pressure, a 132 cholesterol, but I am a widower. My motivation came from our daughter who wanted my quitting smoking as her gift for her master's. She did not want to loose both parents. My golf buddy has some serious health issues and has tried everything under the sun to quit, but to no avail.
I honestly do not think that the e cig is for everyone.
