I have a question that hopefully is on topic.....is there any way to lock the mod from firing when it's in a pocket? (granted a big pocket) The mod in question being the RX200 temp control mod that this thread is supposed to be about.....of course

Press the fire button 5 times before putting it in your pocket. That turns the device off. Then press the fire button 5 times to turn it on.

It's what I do anyways.

Blah, I was hoping there was another way besides turning it off. Maybe I should start a new thread? :D

I suppose, to stay on topic, you could create a profile with the TCR set to 00000 and select that profile before putting it in your pocket?

Friendly disclaimer, I have no idea if that works or not.

Pressing the fire button 5 times fast works for me.

Key locks are fairly common... Fire button locking, not so much.

Don't know whose have a software lock*, but I'm aware of two new ones with a physical sliding lock.
I like that idea actually, may be getting one of them soon.

Although they're both made by the same company (or subsidiary) as the RX... they're not the RX.
Can I still name them? o_O

*Oddly, actually I do have a mod with a software lock... for its' long fire bar.
But it's an entirely separate company... so naming that is surely right out. :(

Pretty sure every SMOK product I've owned has a software lock. Fire button 3 times if I recall correctly. Been awhile since I've had them out.

The Reuleaux DNA200 also has a software lock by pressing the fire button 5 times by default but can be changed in escribe. For that matter I'm not entirely sure you can turn "off" the DNA200 version, at least I haven't figured it out on mine.

The first 95 pages are off topic. Please straighten up guys.
Looking for a bit of insight ON TOPIC lol...I have been doing nickel Clapton coils(twisted 32ga core/32ga outer) and got to a science where 4-5 spaced wraps 2-3mm= .07-.11 resistance and really enjoy the results I get in that range for all categories. I have been thinking about switching to titanium as I am finally nearing the end supply of my nickel and hear great things about its flavor and life. I am not against using stainless but really dont have much access locally in case I need to run out and grab it in a pinch. I want to know what size titanium I should be looking at getting to make the end resistance about the same(.07-.11). I am also curious the best type to get to avoid the initial burn-off, wierd smell that happens. I have as well it seems like after the coils break in and as they get gunked up the TCR seems to change?? Im guessing all things play a factor in how the current is passed through, and what slows it down along the way changes as you get juice build-up etc.?

Hollywood,

This is what I use for Ti: Titanium Round Wire, 50-ft. Coil, 24-Ga., Soft
It is annealed grade 1 so it is soft (not springy like a lot of Ti). Check the resistance on Steam-Engine.org.

This is wire meant for use in jewelry and has been acid cleaned. I wipe it with a little dish soap and dry with a paper towel. I don't know why I bother the paper towel always comes out clean.

Folks will tell you the dull fish from the acid wash hold gunk - wrong. I clean my coils with the little brush that comes with hair clippers or an electric razor and hot tap water and it comes out looking like new.

Rio Grande get $10 for 50 feet and because it is a main stay of their product line it is alway in stock and they are a USA supplier.

maybe try and undo the update to a previous version and reinstall the 3.0 update.

there is also a small screw inside the battery bay (top left as you look into the bay) under a small foam plug, pull out that foam plug and try and tighten that screw, some of them have been a bit loose.
I turned that screw and 20 minutes later I got a call from someone in China and they said "knock that off."

I use Ti exclusively and I so far like the Unkamen 26 awg but have been thinking about the 24 Rio Grande. Unkamen is also acid washed so it has a dull finish but you are not going to get that kind of resistance. I use a 6 wrap spaced coil 3mm ID and it comes out at about .3ohms. Very good vape I also clean mine with a denture brush under hot water and it comes out pretty clean. Oh I might add that I use the Kanger STM mostly and the 26 Unk traps very well but have heard the 24 also traps very well. I find it helps to wrap my coils on a coil master and stretch it out and push it back to gether to get a perfectly spaced coil. You aren't boing to get that low of a resistance with Ti nickel is a whole different thing when it comes to resistance. .3 works very well.
