Welp, now I'm convinced. Gotta find someone to swap faceplates with.

I saw a guide online, it looks relatively easy. Any complications?
It's four little screws from the inside of the battery tray. The four bottom ones.
while your in there swapping plates check to make sure the screen ribbon cable is not under the fire button. cant remember if it was the rx200 or the dna version that had that issue, but i remember one of them did.
It is the dna version that has that problem.

Ayyy, nice. That's what it looked like in the picture, figure it'll be kinda hard to mess up.

Had my rx200 for a couple months now and loved it. Now it wont fire I just get "check battery".

I Always charge batteries on my 4bay intellicharger but was tired and plugged it into my phone charger which ive done before with no issues.

My dog walks by and barely tips the mod over and now it wont work. Argggg!

Im using all new lg he4's...never had an issue before. Tried different matched pair ...same thing. I took the front bezel off to see if there was any shorts ... didnt see any shorts or damage. Popped bats back in and still "check battery". And the mod gets hot.

last update I did was 3.0.

so is the mod toast?
same because I really love the ergonomics/bat life of this mod.
Is a dna200 chip a drop in upgrade?
anything I can do?

Well, ground screw was tight, tried fresh charged batts.... no broken solder points.... still says "check battery" , gets hot, and now the screen is glitching.

I thinks its safe to say this ones toast.
I only had it 45 days and babied it.....sucks that a 2 feet drop onto soft carpet can break these.
I want to buy another one...a different color...so I can swap bezel and batt cover but I dont want to have to buy a new mod every couple months.

I havent heard of this issue untill it happened to mine and I searched "rx200 check battery".... then found quite a bit of similar stories.
I havnt followed this thread much..... is this something common? I need to decide on what mod to get, I really love the form and battery life of these but need something reliable.
Should I go with another or something like a sigeili 200?

Where did you buy it? Have you contacted your vendor for support, It is still under warranty.
You can always pick up a DNA200 & convert it. Have to file out the screen window and fold the screen ribbon under itself to keep it away from the fire button but it is doable and can give your RX a new lease on life.

I got it from a vendor on ebay. He offered to refund a few days after I got it when TC didnt work but I ended up using power mode and liking it.
its now been 45 days since I got it so doubt he will take it back but I did send him a message

I received a green and black one yesterday.

Question: I put three 25R's in it and worked great. However, when the batteries got low I put in three identical 25Rs and nothing. All 3 are fully charged. I put the original 3 back in and it turned on. Put the fully charged 3 in and nothing.

Obviously, I verified they were all in correctly.

Any ideas?

Also, I don't use TC. Any reason to upgrade the software and if so, how?

Tpat591 posted this a while back and it was good enough for me. Maybe you might want to give it a try, now that your RX is one step away from a new life as a paperweight?

In Russian, but the pictures speak for themselves.

Good vid on disassembly. But what issue did he have, and what did he do to fix it?

Is the idea to just take apart to check all solder joints?

He reviews construction & liquid integrity of units. He douses the 510s with eliquid and soaks them for long periods with an atty on to see if it will penetrate and then disassembles to show how wet they get inside and whether it causes the mod to fail. He also does drop tests from varying heights to test how durable etc. Torture tests essentially. It is interesting work for community info, if only I could understand what he is saying I'm sure I would really like his work. He does give you a peek under the hood so to speak and it isn't often done with mods these days.

I will probably be gutting mine since I just ordered another rx200 and a silicone sleeve lol.

Thanks for responding Tpat591, I have been a busy camper these days. I found the following vid this morning (below) that also shows a tear-down but in a language some might understand a bit better. I didn't have access to this vid until today but the Russian fellow shows all I really needed and the rest is/was highly intuitive. My only recommendation is whoever attempts the tear-down have a quality, powerful, fine tip soldering iron to avoid overheating the board etc, plus a desoldering device, but that is not absolutely needed. I am now kicking myself for not taking some pics but I was in a hurry to both clean my RX, plus I was over-multitasking and the ol' brain-box was pushed well past the recommended max. I almost blew-out my cerebral cortex, again. Those are really hard to get working properly again after an explosive failure.

FF a few minutes for the dismembering part.

Please note: I am not endorsing nor disagreeing with anything said in the video, it's posted here only for informational purposes. Give or take from it what you will and always proceed with extreme caution. I make no claims of expertise.

The new software upgrade (1.08 or 3.0) also brings you the new display font if the preinstall software is 1.07 or older.

Well USPS FINALLY delivered my RX... after it sat in Seattle WA for 8 freaking days!! got it out of the box, let it warm up to room temp and popped some 25Rs into it. read through the users manual and fired it up. MuTank with .35 SS 304 coils in it and temp control was hitting Temp protection immediately. well that is because the damn thing was in nickle mode. reread the book and just could not get it to switch to ss mode. managed to get it into wattage mode so I could vape on it a bit but still regardless what I tried couldn't get that damn thing to switch to ss mode. Thought why not and plugged it into my laptop and updated it to 3.0 software. man, so much easier to change modes and such.

really enjoying the temp mode in it now. finally able to get flavor with clouds in temp unlike the IPV4 I have. One thing though, somewhere in here I saw a link to the TCRs for all types of wires, but now that I need it I cannot find it. I have SS 316l and 304 ss wire. My 304 is 24g and even on a 3.5mm set of dual coils at 9 wraps it is only .13 ohms... hits temp protection way to fast.... 500 degrees at 40 watts.. in order to not hit temp protection I have to drop the watts to 25 or so, and then I cant get a good vape from it. 26g 316l 3.5mm coils works a lot better for me.

All in all Im really liking this mod. Got a second one coming later this week too...

I found my rx200 to like a tcr of 120 for 304 for it to act the same as my cuboid and vtc mini with tcr values of 105 for 304. Not sure why, but if I put 105 into the rx I bounce off the temp limit way sooner.

And that is the same across all my builds which includes SS clapton, normal macro coils, and micro coils.
