I've removed my battery door a few times mod switched on and I honestly can't see how it would cause the problem we're seeing, mxjo are rewrap and like most rewrap company's they are less then honest with their stated specifications I would never use any rewrap in high wattage mods. Possible it was a faulty mod every company has them but there was something not the norm here or we'd be seeing more problems by now as these are flying off the shelves and there's a hell of a lot of these in customers hands.

Update:
Well my two RX200 mods came in and after a few days with them I'm totally awed! I mean these mods are just what I was looking for! Batt doors slide off and snap back on very smoothly, no issues at all with the batt door.. batts are going for days on a single charge...I love that![emoji12]

Rizzy I keep checking my battery voltage because of this story. currently at 3.77,3.79.3.83 that is about how far my dual battery mods end up apart and I've never had a problem there.

The answer to why that mod blew up could be a manufacturing default but is most likely a case of mismatched batteries. They are already admitting that one MXJO was used previously, who knows what the batteries were maybe it was a chemistry maybe it was damaged previously, even if all three mxjo had same wrap that doesn't mean they are the same battery. If this happens two more times I'll worry.

I feel safe with my fresh married set of HG2.

Did you get everything at the same place? If so where'd you order from?

RX 200 came from Slowtech $40 free shipping 9 days to my mailbox. Triumphant juice winnings from you tube, batts & wraps from IMR, charger from Amazon.

My first proper alien and he's an idiot.

I'm using HG2's as well and I'm not a crazy high wattage guy so hopefully all we be okay.
Is that range of voltages (3.77,3.79.3.83) okay normally?
You could try a little experiment if you are game. Make note of voltage differences in your batteries and what slots they were in the mod. Then switch slots to see if it's the batteries that are draining a touch unevenly or the mod is drawing unevenly. For example if cell 1 is 3.83V, move it to cell 2 or 3 slot and see if it's still higher in voltage. I'm weird like that, I like to experiment lol.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit Batteries are mass produced and slight differences are to be expected. If you really think about it, you are only looking at six 1/100s of a volt difference from the lowest to the highest reading in a 3 cell device, not a huge difference.

Anson, perhaps try measuring again after the device has been idle for a while. It seems to change and level out.

Those values seem as close, or closer than others have reported on reddit (for good, bad or indifferent). That said, right now mine are 3.66, 3.66, 3.63 (new, authentic Samsung 25Rs). At the moment, I'm keeping my vape under 40 watts with these, to be on the extra safe side.

For anyone wondering, the onboard battery check is performed by turning off (5 clicks) and holding fire and down button for around 5 seconds until the cell voltages display.

Also, I love Wismec's clear as mud, lost in translation prose on their RX200 landing page: "It is better to take out the lithium-batteries from the device and then charge the cells. Moreover, it can also be charged via USB cable.":facepalm: <-double facepalm

I'm not worried at all about the rx200 it's a fantastic mod and my friend has been torture testing it as he does everything and he's very happy with the results so I'm still going to get three more. As I said maybe there was a fault in that mod but I doubt that alone would cause it to fail so badly and there was definitely something else at play likely the battery's but still not enough info about the incident to know anything for sure.

Just to make sure my post wasn't misunderstood, I'll try and be more clear.

I don't think six 1/100s of a volt from lowest to highest in a 3 cell mod is a big deal or a reason for concern. To take it a step further, I think it's relatively normal and to be expected. I was just talking about experimenting on a cold day when you have nothing better to do. I said I'm weird that way and like to experiment.

Cheers,
Steve

I think it's board inaccuracy

Assuming that back left= the battery displayed onscreen to the left and that back right= the battery displayed on the far right.

I was getting the lowest reading from the left and higher from the far right so I swapped the two back batteries keeping the third in the front slot and it still read far right as highest.

Ben only time I got that message there was a problem with my build 2mm of a leg had managed to touch the rba outer housing causing a short how I missed it I don't know but mod worked as intended, other cause might be tc build in wattage mode putting you below the limit in resistance.

Yes that's fine gallant sorry someone got injured but I don't think this was mod alone fault or is a cause for too much concern, I haven't seen a single issue from anyone that used 3 branded good quality battery's and has used the mod within it's limits.
