I have done a little more reading and it looks like the Media is putting the blame on Target and there will be some kind of Congressional Hearing to see if Target did not properly protect customer info. But from what I read elsewhere, it looks like a lot of people using Amazon and many other online and brick and mortar stores, including Safeway, have had their cc charged. This is starting to sound like someone hacked a processor or banking system and the news has not come out yet. Several people that have posted with these charges never went to Target. So this is multiple attacks or a source other than just Target. Checked my card and no strange charge, thank goodness. That would be all I need.

Super Target is the store closest to me, so I'm sure I'm in it and with a debit card too. Privacy Rights is advising people to cancel their debit cards and use only cc's. No more debit cards because of their lack of protection against fraud. That's a nightmare. This certainly is not the first nor the biggest. I'm pretty sure Walmart had a breach double this size a few years ago and Congress/news media appear to be immune to learning anything tech related. Prepaid cards aren't without their little scams too and tha's not what I want to waste my time on anyway. What's done is done. I'm not checking my account until after Christmas. I should be looking for an xmassy ostrich emoticon sticking their head in the sand. There's several things that have me in a state of near panic. I prefer to be blissfully ignorant.

And on a lighter note, I finally decieded what to have for xmas dinner. Corned beef and cabbage. Talk about a break from tradition! It was literally half price and one of my favorites. Why have it only once a year? The bad news is the SW is void of horseradish. You know, the stuff that clears the sinuses. I will make do. I don't use the funky prepackaged spices. I still need to pick up a good crunchy, chewy hard bread and I picked up a fruit and custard tart for desert. Nuthin' traditional.

If all goes well, I am going to start painting Christmas eve and not stop. I've got enough in my head laid out that I could easily go for months but the challenge is to do it in 24 hours. LOL! Always have a challenge. It may look like crap, but I've got a focus and a story to tell. The main project I wanted to do turns out to be long term. Boo. Oh well. Next time.

My song for the day.

The Gemini in me says yes! go for the most nontraditional thing possible! I do love corned beef and cabbage, I'll be checking prices on that! Horseradish not even in supermarket? OMG! For a long time after my divorce, I had to have Chinese food for special occasions, now I can't afford it, but I love it! I still haven't decided what we are having, but I will shop for something later today.
Do they have any kosher places near you?

Horseradish doesn't grow near here I guess. There isn't a wide range of ethnic populations here. It's "bright white" or mixed latino/black. The end. I miss asian foods DESPERATLEY! Last time I was up in Seattle I brought back horseradish root and gave it out for presents. LOL! I've found 3 asian markets in the state, none of them had it either. The asian cooking I grew up with is nothing like what I find in resturants anyway. Way too much sauce. It's pretty cheap and easy to fix. They can slice a chicken breast so thin it feeds 4 people. The rest is veggies and liquids to season.

Good morning, all!

'Tis the day before HoHo (my 2-1/2 year old twin grandkids' name for Santa), and I'm almost ready. Just need to get to the bank this morning (money for cards), and I'll be good to go.

Going to be with my son and DIL for Christmas and Boxing Day. I'm really looking forward to it because I haven't been able to spend any time with them lately, because of work and the lack of wheels (car's in the shop).

Hope everyone here has a peaceful, joyful Christmas :)

Karen you have to remember that the VV V3 is also a passthrough device so you can use it long after the battery stops taking a charge. :)

I will also be around, we will go to his cousin's tomorrow sometime for a small dinner for just the three of us but other than that I'll be here.

Hello! I fell asleep at 8pm and I am up so Good Morning for some good evening for others! LOL

Of course I will be around through the next few days, I have a small dinner planned since nephew going to his girlfriends grandma for the holiday. Nothing going to keep me from making a nice little dinner but not going to be Thanksgiving.

I wish you all very Merry Christmas! Hope you spend it with those you love and feel the Joy of the holidays! If you are alone, may you enjoy peace and tranquility! (this is what I love)

I still did not choose between the two Innokin products.
I do know the MVP2 will last a lot longer based on Battery strength. (fewer charges) the VV V3 was my favorite, so I hate to not have it.

Good Morning, everyone!

Here I sit at my desk at work wondering how early I'll be able to leave and get started on my Christmas dinner. Got to make a long-grain and wild rice pilaf (with dried cranberries and toasted pecans), gluten free brownies, and prepare the green bean casserole and butternut squash and mashed potatoes.

Oh, and have to brine the turkey (hope to God it's defrosted when I get home!).

It will be a mess in my kitchen but I'll be having fun!

Everyone, have a Merry Christmas, or other holiday if you don't celebrate--and I'm sure I'll pop in if anyone is here.

Well, I made my order, I got my VV V3 again. I just had to have it since I enjoyed it so much. Now, I bet I will find the other one as soon as the new one is shipped. I will eventually get an MVP2 if my finances get better, that $4 was the difference between getting a meal for Christmas or just eating whatever. I voted something a little better. I got a Roast and a cake. I had some left on food stamp card.

So, I will make a decent dinner after all.

My sister called and said they were having Shrimp Scampi and Surf and turf for dinner,(her husband is the butcher owns his shop) so I know the steak will be top notch and surf for her is lobster. I told her I was having it too. Hamburger and Fish Sticks. LOL
She didn't think it was funny, but I almost coughed up fur ball from laughing so hard. If we don't have good humor, what do we have?
She did invite me and offer to pay the ticket, but it's really so hard to travel these days and I would feel bad leaving my roommate alone.

I woke up early in the middle of the night, so, I am off to take a nap and then wrap gifts, I will be back later!

to those of you that might take off a few days here , Merry Christmas ! I wish yo peace and joy!

I am just starting to wrap Cliff's things, I'm getting a late start because my daughter called and we talked for nearly 3 hours. Made my Christmas. :) We only talk a couple of time a year now and I miss her so, but she told me that she shows my great granddaughter pictures all the time of all of us and tells her who everyone is, she talks to her about me so at least I know she knows who I am. My granddaughter also told me that she is going to frame and hang the prints of the portraits I painted of her two kids in their rooms and that that was the most thoughtful gift she had ever gotten.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas. :)

Merry Christmas all!!!

I am going to watch the Pope's Midnight Mass tonight and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas show tonight.

I might tune into that as well. I'm kinda curious. This pope has some attitude which I kinda like. I saw a headline in my reader they are expecting a huge turn out due to his popularity. Thx for reminding me.

I saw on CNN that his popularity is somewhere around 84%, unheard of and has surpassed John Paul II. I like his humility and that he is not staying in the traditional papal quarters but in a small apartment in modest circumstances, with the people. I admire him and his living what he preaches. So rare in today's world. I think he is going to be an important symbol in this world, and be remembered in the same vein as Mother Theresa and others like them. Hopefully it will rub off onto other people.

RE: the pope--my mom (who is not Catholic) told me she was absolutely impressed when she read that he had fired (?) a high-profile Cardinal due to his very public chastisement of gays. The Church still holds that it's wrong, but the Pope believes (as he should) that loving everyone (and showing it) is a better way to get the message out than ridicule. Nice to see.
