Good evening friends! Just trying to convince DD2 that Santa doesn't come until you are asleep. Yeah, she's not buying it either. I will never forget one year we stayed up so late that Santa didn't come at all until the next morning when my eyes popped open and I saw daylight coming in through the blinds!! It's a good thing DD1 was a hard sleeper because I would have been busted for sure. This trick would never work with DD2, who can sense changes in the atmospheric pressure when mom opens her eyelids and immediately wakes up. She has supersonic hearing I swear!

So the aunt came by again today to borrow our internet and download a bunch of apps onto the tablet she's giving her youngest. She offered to take DD2 home with her for a while so I could wrap gifts, bless her. Then after DD1 and I got done wrapping all of the things that were NOT for her she stood up and made a grand pronouncement, "Mom, I'm really really tired. I think I'll go in my room and shut the door and take a nap." Hint, hint. So after I finished wrapping her gifts and unkinked myself I had an hour or so to myself, bliss.

I've taken a little break from reality here today. Tomorrow is going to involve my least favorite activity, cooking. Then cleaning up. Then eating which is one of my very favorite activities!! I'll watch my little family with pride and glow under the tree lights, and try my very hardest to be thankful for all the things we have and not regret all the things we don't have. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas no matter where you are.

At a friends Christmas meal and enjoying the company and time away from home. Sister and my better half are making desert. Apple dumplings.

Tomorrow will be busy busy busy. Dinner at my grandparents then girlfriends dads starts an hour later. And Dr Who airs tomorrow for Christmas special.

I'm off of work and the celebrating has started early! I'm sipping a glass of wine, and I just enjoyed some phone time with my grandbabies as they opened the gifts I had sent them.

I've got half my pre-prep done, BF thought all day that Christmas was on Thursday!! So he got nothing done (was going to rake up the front yard, clean the house, do a bit of shopping). We raced out of here at 5:00 and when we got to the Fred Meyer (one stop shopping) to pick up some Lego's for nephew, beer, stuffing for the turkey, and greeting cards for family, we only had 1/2 hour before the store closed. That was fun!

Now back home, watching a bit of "A Christmas Story", and then back to finish the prep and get the turkey dunked for the night.

As crazy as it gets, this is still my favorite time of year.

The good news is I ordered all my gifts from Amazon 2 days ago and they all arrived this morning. The bad news is I've been at work since 3 o'clock and I have to wrap all the gifts once I get home. The worst news is my furnace went out last and it can't get fixed until the day after Christmas. It's only supposed to get down to 11 degrees tonight.

Oh no! Thaya! What a terrible thing to happen with it so cold out. BAD, BAD Furnace. I hope you have a fireplace or some space heaters. That happened to me many years ago. I tacked up blankets over the doorways in the living room and was lucky enough to have a fireplace to semi heat the room up. Yes, do keep faucets to a trickle so pipes do not freeze. So sorry for you.

Maybe in addition to a side dish, your family can bring a space heater. You will still have a Merry Christmas. Just a little more excitement than expected. Bundle up and take care.

Thank you all for your concern. We'll be fine. We have 2 small heaters that will make it warm enough to get by pretty well since my place isn't that big. I'll bring one of them upstairs tonight again to keep me from sprouting icicles on my face. The good part is I shouldn't have to worry about hot flashes...or maybe I'll finally be thankful for them for once.

Ok, I wrapped all the gifts and the kids are opening as I type, Jack will open his tomorrow. I did a bad job cause of my hands but good enough that they still had to guess what was inside.
It took 3 hours. I am on a strange sleep cycle now, I slept til 9 pm so I am going to be up all night. I guess I'll watch Mass.
