Are they serious? Sometimes ppl are just curious about what will/won't work, sort of like a creative expression (510 to battery) and the reality of them actually using it, even if they did it, is pretty slim. As far as aromatic oils, there is some truth in that they are not lipid oils and many are probably as safe as other flavors we're vaping (triacetin based usually). There is a real cross over that could be potentially valueable for someone unable to vape PG. My personal preference is NOT to be a beta tester with my body.

No one would feel smart without stupid people in the world. The 2013 Darwin Awards are out.

I have thought about using a car battery. . But decided it would be too high of watts for me. And I still dont have a sweetener for my diy, starting to think of ways to sweeten with what I have. U can rebuild my coils so gunking isn't that much of an issue. Trying to find a liquid sweetener at the grocery store.

I'm assuming your being "tongue in cheek" (while you have a cheek) so I must retort :p
At least with cigarettes you know what's going to kill you eventually. Perhaps you'll discover some new affliction from vaping household items like lemon pledge or aunt jemima syrup. It would be pretty cool to have a disease named after you. Topdoggieitis. Not as cool as Lou Gehrig disease but cool none the less. Or the "top dogie look" the fashion statement you can make by having a car battery take half your face off. I'm betting not many can pull that look off. Maybe they'll even make a "top doggie of the opera" musical. :p

That sounds like we are in dire need of some gene pool cleansing. If I didn't see it every day I wouldn't believe that people could actually be that stupid.

Rant warning

I just don't get cheap people. Cigarettes cost about $6 a pack here. You can do RYO for about $12 a carton. But smoking was NOT free. I do understand being broke and trying to be thrifty. A penny saved and all that. What i don't get is people being stupid. I keep seeing stuff like "can I use lemon pledge in DIY" or is it ok to use molasses and honey as a sweetener or has anyone tried using aroma therapy oils. First of all DIY compared to store bought liquid is cheap - compared to smoking is really cheap. $3 for a 10ml bottle of sweetener or flavoring that will make 150+ mls of juice is a bargain. Why do you want to try stupid potentially harmful stuff. The same goes with gear. I swear I'm not making this up - "can you hook up a car battery to a 510 connector"? Wth is wrong with people? Then you see news stories about stuff exploding.
Maybe it's time to remove all warning labels like "don't use this toaster in the bathtub" and let "survival of the fittest" and natural selection sort it all out.

I saw a warning on plastic wrap "this is not a toy and may cause suffocation"
Should people that think wrapping their kids in plastic wrap is a good idea even be having kids?

So Aik is there any actual treatment for that? Does diet play a role? I'd think it would be difficult to control calcium without side effects?

Controlling calcium isn't indicated. I've already got osteopenia (thin bones). I'm young enough that there's a recommendation to investigate for underlying disease causing this. There's a list, nothing stood out at first glance. I guess the usual is to be passed off to a specialist in rheumatoid arthritis and I'm not 100% clear on why yet because they seem like different disease processes. I'll get an appt. within a week after being in the ER and that was one of my objectives.

I'm pleased with the diagnostics they did. Going through the doctor's office I probably would have had to make 4 - 6 different appt. to get these results. It saved me apx 2 months (or more) of time.

One holistic site reccomended cherries and caffine; cherry red bull anyone? Everything turns into a vape flavor right now.

IMHO there should seriously be a spay/neuter program for humans, too many who shouldn't be having them are.

Well that's interesting. You can avoid kidney stones with cranberry juice or lemonade - interferes with stone formation - wonder if it would interfere with calcium crystal formation?

Have you had your parathyroid looked at? Hypercalcemia (anything over 10) is a telltale sign. This is a fantastic website:

Symptoms of Parathyroid Disease and Hyperparathyroidism: Parathyroid Symptoms: High Calcium, Tiredness, Osteoporosis, Fatigue, Weakness, Lack of Energy, and others.

A simple 10 minute outpatient surgery can remove any tumor and people feel 100% better almost immediately.

That's interesting. I'll look into it. The kidney and bladder stuff is usually related to uric acid build up with gout. This isn't uric acid and the only reason it has the word gout in it is based on what it appears like. This is very preliminary. They don't know what causes it, but sudden onset in the knee is typical and usually in those over 85 - which might be a reason not many have investigated how to "cure" it. Most the stuff talks about pallative care. UGH. It actually started in my hip and I was able to ignore it so it spreads to multiple joints and could get into my spine. This is one of those things that I may end up having more faith in a naturopath than with a MD. I don't have enough info yet. Flavnoids are another thing. Thyroid came up too. There's a lot of different directions. I do know that just symptom relief without investigating a cause won't please me.

I also don't have much of a lymphatic system left in my legs due to previous surgeries. That can do some strange things too.

Gout? That is an interesting diagnosis. My sister's husband had that; there are medications to really help control it. What really helps is to stop drinking alcohol (remember the old movies and stories of old men in jolly old England back in the Regency and Victorian days with their afflictions? It was gout from all the real rich foods and wines, if I remember correctly). Before I did any major lifestyle changes I would get a second opinion. Oh, the other thing. Stop drinking the tap water. Dr out here said we had some type of mineral or something in the local water supply that even though within accepted levels was a trigger. I am cautioning that this info is heresay and needs to be verified by you with a little research. Just throwing stuff at the wall for you to consider.

I have gout in my knee. Whodathunkit?
Still haven't figured it out. I was there until 7 this morning.

I'm still getting a lottery ticket this weekend.

So you have been reading the same posts that I have been reading. The level of ignorance is escalating the older I get and the more I read. Than again, we are living in the McDonalds as real food and I saw it on YouTube generation. I used to get real upset and nervous for those people posting and I would make long explanatory posts on the whys and wherefores what they were proposing to do was not a good idea. Now, if I see that 4 or 5 reasonable veterans have already advised not to do something I just don't bother to post.

What really gets me is the group of people that read and acknowledge that they understood why it is not a good idea and then go and do it anyways. And there are a bunch of those out there.

Lox, it is a scary world out there and you can not save them all. You can not even educate some of them. But we do try. A most understandable rant. I would not even call it a rant.

Rant warning

Lox, I got the mail! Thank you! Gotta read instructions, Nephew just bought it in, I also got the Itaste VV V3 and this one has the I -16's I had only gotten the express kit before. I like the I-16 it has a nice vape. for flavors that are not that heavy it is a great atty, but for stronger flavors I need bottom coil. Better than most top coils that is for sure. The only other top coil I liked was a t2, they work pretty well. Since I won the Provari, I don't need much right now, will concentrate on Juice, DIY and rebuilding.

On the essential oils and aromatherapy oils/scents business: my personal opinion is that most of the people contemplating doing this have very little real knowledge of chemicals and reactions relating to them, biology, medicine, science or other knowledge that would lead to an assumption that the person may know a little about what they are attempting to put into their lungs. A comment from an op like 'well it is in air fresheners' or 'they use it in perfume' does not give me warm fuzzies regarding the person's competence to not kill themselves.

I tend to err on the side of 'don't do it' unless you are a chemist or doctor of pulmonology. Which 99% of the people posting are not. So I am a Debbie Downer on this type of experimentation.

Oh yes!!! I forgot that one. Eat lots of fresh cherrys and drink real cherry juice. He did say that he thought it was helping with his gout. And the doctor told him to do that.
