Apologies, folks, I'm still 10 or more pages behind in catching up -- LOVE THIS THREAD it's a FaaastMover! (in the complimentary military sense; Air Force brat here)... anyway forgive me I just have to get this question out:

As many of you know I'm new to vaping and still trying to learn about equipment etc. Just from reading you folks, I'm learning, though there are some posts that I read and realize that I have NO idea whatsoever what the person just said. (But jargon is a good thing, you know, it means we are a cohesive social group!) Anyway, I had a brainstorm sometime in the middle of last night, as I stared at my juices trying to figure out whether to test a new one in an atty, I'm still new to cleaning attys so I hate to waste one with what might be a crummy or not-ready juice and then have to clean it (ok, put it in the "to be cleaned" container!).

SO ... is that why many people get into dripping? Is it because drippers give you a way to experiment with flavors without having to dedicate a tank to it, possibly toss it out, clean said tank, etc etc? Or is that at least one fair reason to try dripping?

I have a lot of juices now that I want to test. But I'm nowhere near you folks in your knowledge of equipment, options, rebuilding, and all that.

Is there such a thing as a beginner's easy-peasy dripper top/device that I could just slam onto one of my MPV2.0s and use it? Without having to hand-build or re-build any parts for it? At least not anytime soon?

Some people tend to prefer dripping as their main way to vape. But for others who use it just for taste testing (like me) there's the simple 510 atty. You can get bridged or bridge-less and they don't cost much and clean easily. You don't have to rebuild them, just get another if it stops working. It's a simple way to see if you want to commit to a tank or clearomizer.

P.S. Marla, I can't believe you've read through this entire thread to catch up! That certainly isn't expected. What a trooper!

Hi Marla,

Shari started her vaping journey with dripping, so she will probably be the best one to advise on beginner dripping setups. I'm just starting with it not to taste-test, although that's a great reason for it, but I discovered that I'm a flavor junkie. I like being able to taste all the nuances of juice in the purest form possible. So for me, it's a quest (however futile) to get the best tasting vape possible. I also like clouds of vapor. Not the mega clouds I see some people going for, but I'm definitely not into stealth clouds, lol.

So, I've got myself a rebuildable dripper that came with a wick and coil already on it, and some pre-made wicks and coils, and I'll be easing into rebuilding by starting that way. First thing will be replacing the wick and coil when it's done (or if I pop it). Next I'm going to re-thread the coils with cotton, and then I will likely attempt to build some coils.

So far I'm getting great vapor and better taste, but it's still muted a bit. I think that I'll have to try the cotton sooner rather than later.

MY INTERNET IS .....'D. I hate COX. I hate monopolies.

This may make no sense but so what with this kind of crappy "PREMIUM" service.

Cheapie hardware:
I love these little batteries and they've been vaping like champs for 8 months now. https://www.fasttech.com/products/1351606
So pretty and lightweight that I can run around the house with it hanging out my mouth or stuffed in my bra. LOL! Who needs a lanyard? They last for 2-4 hours depending on what I have on top so there's a charger in almost every room. They also have them individually https://www.fasttech.com/products/1...0mah-usb-rechargeable-battery-for-e-cigarette
I think the embossed "queen egos" have been discontinued so get them while ya can.

FT is also selling the rainbow twist now. I've got one on order. Singapore post. Ego's are shipping on the slow track now.

I love them with cheap disposable Baughway clearo's (LR 1.4-1.8 ohm) and the flavor is great. They used to run apx $1.60 each but have gotten hard to find anymore. I refuse to pay $4 for a disposable. Don't leak and the drip tip is 510 reusuable. A whole clearo for the price of a tip? They last several months too if I keep them semi-ungunked (ha) washed once a week. They look better than pics. The tips are marbelized with 2 colors. Better flavor than a protank. I kid you not.

I thought someone on this forum mentioned awhile ago they used clearos sold in multi packs from FT. I haven't tried those and so far, something's come up that's kept me from ordering them. FT does sell evods in 10 packs for $20 and it would be hard to beat that deal anyway.

Next up is my only mech (no I don't have a protected battery in it and not going to bother. It's fine.) Gripper Rubberized coating, very lightweight and hits the best of anything I've got for $8-$10. Love it. A 18350 battery will last all day with chain vaping. Doesn't fit in the bra but is less than the size of 1/2 my palm. Very, very stealthy vape. I got it for hiking etc. but use it all the time now. DO GET THE EXTENSION Gripper 510 Extension That will allow any clearo to work on it perfectly. It's not ego threaded so no evods. The Baughways were excellent on it. I also have carts for it (use the drip tip to screw in and out) or you can use nano clearos. I don't like the nano's and the drip tip is to short on them for my liking anyway. The clicky button is operated by my thumb, easy to hold and I've never had it fire on it's own. I throw it in the bottom of my purse all the time. I've abused it shamelessly. Works good as new. This is the one I wanted to buy a $25 wrap for. LOL! But I love it that much.

I wish I would have know about some of these things in the beginning and I wonder if I would have progressed onto the collection I have now (who am I kidding?).

I've been thinking of contacting the person who ran the Baughway buy to see about doing another. I can't beat the price and performance/flavor and ease of those.

I love my mods but Provari, Vamo, Zmax add about 30lbs to a purse that's already 50lbs to carry around. They are HEAVY. That gets a little old. The glass breaks. It's fine when I lead a "civilized" lifestyle but lousy for the days I don't. I need mods I don't have to worry about trashing too.

PS. Reviews say these are great atomizers for dripping and they are less than $2 $1.71 EGO 510-T Electronic Cigarettes Flat Mouth Atomizer with Refill - black at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping The plastic cartridge is easy to remove = cheap dripper.

Now how do I fix up that gripper so it's pretty?

I got a bunch of these a few months ago with the intention of using them as mixers and then found Nicoticket and have been vaping them for a while. Just pulled them out again to play with and I can attest to the fact that they are well steeped. :) I got Bavarian Cream, Whipped Cream, Graham Cracker, Cake, Butter Rum, and Brown Sugar, they were out of Sweet Cream at the time or I would have gotten that one too.
Now that I'm dripping it is much easier to play with mixes so I'm giving it a try. I have a lot of other flavors to play with as well so it will be fun.

Not exactly sure why I listed the MBV creams as stuff I do a lot. I got the following ones:

Whipped Cream
Sweet Cream
Bavarian Cream
Cheesecake
Vanilla Custard

Of these the whipped cream can be very good, and most of the others can be good at times. However:
1. Most MBV flavors NEED to steep when you get them, and can be rancid out of the mbox. This is particularly true of all of the above.
2. These flavors tend to be "touchy" if you do them straight. They can be good for the first 2/3 tank, but get much worse at the bottom; when they get there I dump them out and refill.
3. I've had some success "creaming" other flavors with these, but use the creams in very small amounts or they completely kill off other flavors (like fruits).

So which ones do you use?

And you have to try deadly sin, it really is an exceptional juice. MBV Cinnamon Roll is close, but has more cinnamon and more "roll" and less of the exquisite background flavors that DS has.

For me dripping is a way to get clear clean flavors, I switch up my flavors almost constantly because if I don't they start to lose their intensity and in a clearo they start to cook and begin to taste burnt to me before I vape the whole thing.
I'm sure Shari will fill you in on the 510 bridgeless attys for dripping, I tried them but wasn't overly impressed, too small and have to refill way too quickly or get a really nasty nasty dry hit. Then I won a Vision Eternity, which I had never heard of until GotVapes offered it as their prize Christmas week. I did a youtube search and found a review that made it sound really interesting so when it came I set it up and went to town. I really really like this little dripper it will hold 35 drops of juice that will last a couple of hours chain vaping, and the first coil/wick is still going strong after a couple of weeks of daily use and it is rebuildable or you can buy prebuilt coil/wick setups for it. I also ordered a Trident clone which is rebuildable as well, I pulled the wicks out of it and cleaned everything well and rewicked with cotton, using the coils that came in it. It's probably my favorite for flavor and vapor with the Eternity very close.
I've played with the Trident enough that I'm sure I will be able to make coils for it with little problem and I have a coil jig that will make it even easier.

Yes it is much easier to taste flavors with a dripper, but you also get a nicer cleaner tasting vape and in some cases more vapor which can mean more flavor. It is also easier to change to a different flavor as long as that is compatible with the others, some very strong flavors will linger though.

I was positive that I could not, would not ever make coils and rebuild attys but things change. lol When I began vaping my hands were very very shaky, but after a month or so of no cigarettes the shaking went away so that in not a problem anymore. Also I spend time in another forum where most of the people build their own and there was a guy just starting out who they were helping, the more I read the posts the more I began to realize that it just isn't as intimidating as I had thought, so I'm going to jump in and do it.
There is one gal with MS who is building coils even for other people and if she can do it so can I.:)

YESSSSSS! Your a google whiz. Maybe you should moderate a budget vaping board. It's still more than the $1.00 I used to pay, but better than anywhere else. Thx. I'm getting down to my last 4 (and no more PURPLE!). The tip is not red.

OOPS. It's 2.4 ohm. No go. Need the LR to work well. Bummer.
I did find these though.

Yes, yes, and more yes. That is the only reason I bought my first Joyetech 510 atty. Now I have about 50 of them (cheap and disposable and easy).

I taste lots of juice and switch up a lot. All I do with the atty is blow it out through the connection end into a paper towel. No rinsing, soaking, dry burning. No nothing. Mine last me on average of about 3 weeks to a month each and cost about $2 each at DigitalCiggz.com. They take a little practice to use and in the beginning you will get a few dry hits until you figure out when to put more drops in. I love them.

You also can just vape some plain vg or unflavored nic in between flavors to clean out the atty. If you put the atty away for a while, make sure you put a drop or so of juice or vg in it before storing. Don't store it dry. Or you can just follow one flavor with another. Best to stay in same family of flavors. Tobacco to tobacco, caramel to coffee, coffee to chocolates, that type of thing. Mints and menthols are hard to get taste out of atty. Also cinnamon sometimes.

They are so cheap that I dedicate an atty to mints, tobaccos, bakery flavors and just rubber band the atty to the bottle of juice. My mint atty is about 5 months old because I do not vape mint very often. I had to throw one atty out because I could not get a retched menthol flavor out of it, so that is why I have several going at a time. I am not a good dry burner; I tend to be too enthusiastic and pop the coils so I do not do it any more. Many swear by it. Here is a thread on the old school dripping with attys.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...405910-regular-atty-drippers-dying-breed.html

This thread will tell you most all you need to know about dripping with an atty. Not RBAs.

However:
1. Most MBV flavors NEED to steep when you get them, and can be rancid out of the mbox. This is particularly true of all of the above.
2. These flavors tend to be "touchy" if you do them straight. They can be good for the first 2/3 tank, but get much worse at the bottom; when they get there I dump them out and refill......... Ahh, twg, this is some great advice about MBV juices. Took me some sad times to figure this out. Of course, I ordered MBV among my first juices, and didn't understand steeping at all yet. Luckily I read around here before throwing them all out in disgust thinking I had "wrong" taste buds or something.

Could you refresh my brain -- what is the "DS" to which you refer? If it's better than MBV Cinnamon Roll (AFTER steeping, I learned), I WANT SOME but don't know what DS is :(

I got the info and had to take the Obama care with a huge government subsidy, there was a $500 deductible, (one hospital visit will cover that) I still have to pay monthly $28.61 which is cheap I know that but I have no income, my sister will pay for the first 3 months. the drug plan is $4.00 generic,
i get to pick my own specialists, no referral. I had to take this plan closest to the old system you can get. oh and $5.00 for primary care doctor, 10% of bill for specialists.

Karen, I'm so sorry about your back problems. I definitely empathize, took me a long time and a really bad L4-L5 problem, complete with nerve damage etc, no income, no insurance - finally got on Medicaid and had surgery. It's KINDA good though to hear that you did find something semi-reasonable in the Obamacare options, even though you will still have some trouble affording it.

My back damage probably had to do with, or was aggravated by, my work as a personal fitness trainer and the stuff I was doing before I started working that job (meaning the training I was doing before I got certified - I'm old, but my trainer wanted me to get into senior competitions so I was lifting way heavy weights). Went crazy on fitness like I tend to go crazy on anything I get into. It was way healthy though, but I overdid it, because I could! The healthy diet part was supreme, though.

My thought (though I wandered off blabbing about myself) was that all of us do better with some modicum of exercise. I need to get back into doing more of it, now that I'm post-op. Walking! Though I know that some back conditions simply are not improved by even walking. Core exercises! Stronger core supports the back! Can do some of these in the chair :)

One other idea, regarding pain, pain meds etc -- when I was on my heaviest doses of oxycodone, vicodin, etc, pre-op, the best thing for me was STILL the microwaveable hot pads. SUCH good relief. Be careful of your skin though! My back hurt so much, and the heat felt so good, that I didn't realize I was damaging the skin of my lower back -- now I have a nice, permanent, mottled purple-and-yellow combo on my skin. Basically, burned. HOWEVER, in moderation and without heating too hot, those pads can really relieve some pain.

That's cheaper than Medicare. I know your better off than if Florida ran Medicaid - higher medical standards anyway. You might be lucky Florida didn't expand. Interesting. Thanks for the info.
