.... I can't seem to stop vaping long enough to get anything done though, I need to work on this. :)

Oooh I LIKE you, Claudia, and get out of MY HEAD! LOL -:) I have said so many times to family etc that one of the great things about vaping is that you don't have to "sit and wait" (i.e. "stall") to "finish" a cigarette. Well, uhhh, I've kind of un-done that point by making vaping into such a full-bore production! I CONFESS! If I'm not stuck rooted to my chair chain-vaping a loved flavor, I'm playing with cleaning attys or, much more often, fondling/sorting/re-organizing my liquids supply trying to figure out which one(s) might be steeped enough and ready to try .... or getting on-line to make additions to my wish lists...

I'm with Claudia! I neeeed to work on this :)

Today is Jason's birthday. He would have been 40 today. *sigh*

I agree with Alisa, you carry him in your heart for all time, keep hold of the good memories, let bad ones, slip away. You have plenty of living to do, you now live for two. Live the best life you can.

Well since I have to vape outside or in the garage when he is up or home it doesn't really help much, it's still like smoking in that respect, but it's his house. He is trying to quit smoking but doesn't like vaping and me vaping in the house in front of him makes him want to smoke, and he smokes outside or in the garage soooooo. At least he says he's trying to quit but is stuck at half a pack a day or less, he is a stubborn man. Hopefully at some point he will realize that I am doing so much better and he is doing so much worse that he will give in and vape, but I'm not holding my breath since he believes all the crap he sees and hears about vaping being so bad.

Ok got the new curtains hung in the living room, still need to steam them a bit, and now it's time for me to shut Firefox down and get to work on my classwork. Firefox doesn't play nice with Photoshop CC and brings my computer to a crawl so I have to shut it down to work .

See you all later. :)

Karen,

I have occasional severe back problems (or should say "had", knock on wood). Vicodin, percocet, ibuprofen, massive doses of aspirin, nothing helped. One day the owner at my favorite dollar store saw me wince as I bent over to pick up the shopping basket. He made me take home a baggie of Alleve. What a difference that made! (No, I didn't take the whole baggie-full at once! ;-) Alleve worked for me when nothing else did. (and I tried everything, including extensive shopping in all my friends' medicine cabinets) I am surprised that the main marketing claim Alleve makes is the "8-hour" thing. For me it just works a lot better than anything else.

Sorry you had such a bad reaction to the vicodin. Stuff works differently for different people.

As to what I'm vaping, it's a complete mish-mash. Getting back on ECF somehow got me revisiting my juice collection, so instead of my staple diet of GLV Deadly Sin, Hangsen Juicy Peach, Liqua Strawberry, MBV Cinammon Bun (and various MBV creams) I've been going back and revisiting other stuff. Actually had the nerve to try this:

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1313510

(And it's not horrible, a month out of the mailbox. Might work as a "stranded on a desert island" vape!)

I am so sorry you had to go through all that. I can't take opiates like codeine, percodan, etc. because it makes me sick now (didn't used to). Now it seems the ipubrophen is causing problems and I can't take that any longer (thins the blood?). There is naproxen, a nasid however it makes me drowsy but they may work better and it's otc too. My best pain med has been tramadol but it's h*ll to get a script. I guess it's been abused? (that's the excuse).

Most prescription drugs do offer a low income program. Idk the details. You may already be aware of those.

I don't know what insurance program you are refferring to and states vary quite a bit. I do know on Medicare traditional there is a low income suppliment (apply through SSA) for Plan D and meds only cost $1-$3 per script. You've been waiting for disability long enough that once approved you may be eligble for Medicare immediately (2 years from date of application, not date of approval - at least that's the way it used to be). Some states have a program to cover medical, including prescriptions while waiting for SSD approval. Sort of a fast track program.

Florida has been in the news due to the actions it's taken to prevent ppl from getting information on the full range of services available to them, specifically so that ppl like you can't find out about them, sign up for them or use them. That is cruel. You will have to do your own legwork. I used to use a site called Medicare Rights (and they cover some Medicaid) as a starting point. There are other watch dog groups; I'm a little vague on the names, Kaiser, Family Action, there's a legal action site (Southern Law?). Sorry. You'll have to use your Google skills, but do it. Florida will not help you and even though it's federally funded, it's administered by the states (grrrr).

Just because someone tells you there is no way to get it covered, doesn't mean that is true.

PS. Several months ago the NYT did a story about a new class of pain med approved by the FDA and the controversy around it. That's shaken a few things up.

good afternoon! I hope you all have a great day today!

As promised, I will tell you my foolish mistake of the week, so my back was out, I ran out of aleve and just about everything else except I had pain killers from the hospital from about 8 months ago, I never take them but I don't throw them away for emergencies, this was an emergency. I never took this strength before, actually I didn't notice the strength, I didn't think about it. I just cut the pill in half as I have in the past when the pain was too much. (the past being before 8 months ago, had a different script).

I took the half pill and was chatting with all of you when suddenly I felt really ill. I mean sick! It was all I could do but to type good night at the time. It got progressively worse, It was like I was nauseous, sweating, my head felt like it would expand, I had to lay down and call my roommate on the phone to tell him I was this sick, It lasted for 3 hours. but my back was getting better, so, I took the other half and went through it all again needless to say I did not sleep. I had to find a way to get my back better because I could not sit in a chair it was that bad. I don't know why I suffered so bad it was just a vicodin and I took halfs not full strength. I used to take them when I was younger, after my back surgery for about a week. Never experienced anything like that!I even checked the pills with the pharmacist afterwards to see if maybe I mixed them up, nope! I have become a wimp! I can't take the simplest medicines. At least I am able to sit up for short periods now. Still not fixed. Got the Aleve, but it isn't taking away enough pain and I don't have other meds to fix it. THe insurance doesn't kick in till February 1st. I will have to go to the hospital, (meet deductible, only $500) then make appointments.

Well, I survived but those went in the toilet, way too much medicine for me or not the right kind. It makes me mad that they don't sell Tylenol with very small amounts of Codeine for back pain. I used to get it in the Bahamas over the counter when I travelled so much. it worked and was cheap.

Only good thing is I was forced to vape more than smoke since I was in bed. I still had a quick cig, but always the fear of burning in bed I put it out after 2-3 drags. I need to find a really good anti-inflammatory, one that works to eliminate pain without all the evil side effects they tell you about on TV. I will get them just because I am so sensitive, SOme of the safest ones I've taken make me itch.Maybe go old school and take steroidal drugs for pain.

I am vaping on my Itaste VV v3 right now, vaping Kingpin and later will switch to RY4

What are you all vaping today??????????

Aleve is my go to. without out it, I would have killed myself, I have to have it, I usually have a few bottles but I am short on cash so I ran out, I got some t Walmart generic but it works. I still have back pain but I can live with it for now.

Which MBV creams? I have a few I mix with strong flavors. Cherry is def. npt a favorite! lol reminds ms of medicine from when I was a kid. Deadly Sin is on my wish list for future.

I don't even want a box mod and I want this one, take a look but get a bib first cause you will drool all over yourself. Scroll down a bit to really see them.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-supplier-forum/511889-pdibs-making-mods.html

Some of the mechs out now look so cool and are so inexpensive it makes me want to try one. I don't have any protected batteries so I'd have to get some of those, too. But the mod that's been on my radar for some time now is the MVP 2. I think I'd like a box mod and that would be the one I'd go for.

....switched to those chemical free Natural American Spirit cigs and have cut myself back down to 2 or 3 cigs a day. I'll probably quit again by the end of the week, but I figured I'd confess all my sins while this thread was fresh in my mind.
:nun:

Greetings, PLANofMAN, I remember you, whether from the first page of this thread (which I've been trying to catch up on for weeks now) or from another, not sure -- but howdy!

NOW, my friend, you have hit upon a really great way to give up cigs for good, if that's what you want to do .... as Alisa and ShariR were discussing earlier about brand loyalty, just get brand-loyal to those American Spirits! They will use up all your available cash SO fast that you'll rock on into solo vaping REAL fast :) I was brand-loyal to American Spirit for many years. Wouldn't smoke any other brand if you shoved one in my mouth -- no way, no how! Then I got broke, as Karen so accurately describes the condition.

So, nothing else would do, can't afford the AS, and vaping-only, here I am (well, for what is it, 3 months anyway). I've been having dreams lately of being somewhere out and about, picking up something to smoke, and suddenly realizing OOPS I LIT a Cigarette instead of grabbing my vape. In the dreams, not a feeling of horror or shame, or even distate -- just an OOPS, I would really rather have my vape! I consider that to be a good sign of my little psyche working through the fact that I'm now a vaper. There was never a more committed "smoker", as a matter actually of identity, than I was, for 43 yrs or so. So I guess my little brain has to chew on it a bit :)

It is quite a change of style, in some ways, especially as hard as it has been for years now to be identified as a "smoker." It's kind of a rebel cause, and we kinda like being rebels in some ways, perhaps. Of course, if vaping continues to be vilified as many are doing, we can still be rebels!

I got the info and had to take the Obama care with a huge government subsidy, there was a $500 deductible, (one hospital visit will cover that) I still have to pay monthly $28.61 which is cheap I know that but I have no income, my sister will pay for the first 3 months. the drug plan is $4.00 generic,
i get to pick my own specialists, no referral. I had to take this plan closest to the old system you can get. oh and $5.00 for primary care doctor, 10% of bill for specialists.

Not exactly sure why I listed the MBV creams as stuff I do a lot. I got the following ones:

Whipped Cream
Sweet Cream
Bavarian Cream
Cheesecake
Vanilla Custard

Of these the whipped cream can be very good, and most of the others can be good at times. However:
1. Most MBV flavors NEED to steep when you get them, and can be rancid out of the mbox. This is particularly true of all of the above.
2. These flavors tend to be "touchy" if you do them straight. They can be good for the first 2/3 tank, but get much worse at the bottom; when they get there I dump them out and refill.
3. I've had some success "creaming" other flavors with these, but use the creams in very small amounts or they completely kill off other flavors (like fruits).

So which ones do you use?

And you have to try deadly sin, it really is an exceptional juice. MBV Cinnamon Roll is close, but has more cinnamon and more "roll" and less of the exquisite background flavors that DS has.

I have all of them except cheesecake. I like the whipped cream and bavarian cream best to mix, I can do the custard alone, it needs more flavor if I ordered it, I would get 2-3 extra flavor shots mine had 1 ex flavor shot.

Apologies, folks, I'm still 10 or more pages behind in catching up -- LOVE THIS THREAD it's a FaaastMover! (in the complimentary military sense; Air Force brat here)... anyway forgive me I just have to get this question out:

As many of you know I'm new to vaping and still trying to learn about equipment etc. Just from reading you folks, I'm learning, though there are some posts that I read and realize that I have NO idea whatsoever what the person just said. (But jargon is a good thing, you know, it means we are a cohesive social group!) Anyway, I had a brainstorm sometime in the middle of last night, as I stared at my juices trying to figure out whether to test a new one in an atty, I'm still new to cleaning attys so I hate to waste one with what might be a crummy or not-ready juice and then have to clean it (ok, put it in the "to be cleaned" container!).

SO ... is that why many people get into dripping? Is it because drippers give you a way to experiment with flavors without having to dedicate a tank to it, possibly toss it out, clean said tank, etc etc? Or is that at least one fair reason to try dripping?

I have a lot of juices now that I want to test. But I'm nowhere near you folks in your knowledge of equipment, options, rebuilding, and all that.

Is there such a thing as a beginner's easy-peasy dripper top/device that I could just slam onto one of my MPV2.0s and use it? Without having to hand-build or re-build any parts for it? At least not anytime soon?

I've tried several different times to like MBV flavors because of their prices and customer service, but I just can't do it. I have Whipped Cream and Bavarian Cream flavorings from there but rarely use them. I didn't like their Caramel Candy either. There's an underlying flavor in their juices that turns me off even though I can't describe it.

And yes, Karen, you must try Deadly Sin. (hint, hint) I know you'll love it!

What vender you talking about? Is it Indigo? I have not tried any of their liquids yet.

I like them all ROOB but they really get awesome after 2-3 weeks. I have some that are 2 months old and they are amazing. Not all of their tobaccos have that grassy flavor. I don't like that much either. If you really don't like the Capt Ron after a good steep, stay away from the Duke and Eastwood--they use the same tobacco base.

BUT, I'm actually really loving their Express and RY. No grassy notes, but good tobacco flavor enhanced by vanilla/caramel. I think the RY might be similar to your Deadly Sin--I still need to get some of that to compare them. You might also like Five Bucks--while it's not a tobacco, it's a rich caramel macchiato. I think I've tried about 6 or 7 (maybe more?) of their flavors. Right now I have 5 in rotation...
