Oh I get it,
My thoughts on the external batteries are that even if they ban PV's it's unlikely that they will ban the batteries because they are commonly used in flashlights. I too prefer having VV and/or VW, I really really like my itazte. I would get a VTR if they weren't so huge , but who knows I may anyway, I like the Innokin products very much.
I prefer a regulated device to one that is unregulated, I hear you about keeping the batteries straight and I think when I get more I will have to have a system of storage that will take care of that, for now I only have two for each and they are different sizes so it's pretty easy to keep straight. I have always had a problem losing things so I absolutely had to start putting things in the same place every time, that doesn't equate to organized or neat, I am neither. I am thinking two differently colored boxes, one for charged and one for needing to be charged, but for now on the shelf of the hutch over my computer desk for charged and on the desk itself for needing to be charged works. Of course on the desk itself only works for very short periods of time or they will get buried under the clutter.
I'm happy that your wrists are healing well.

I hear where you're coming from; I started with both an itasteVW and a couple of mech mods. I stopped using the mechs fairly quickly, for a couple of reasons.
First, I didn't get as consistent a vape from the mechs (probably because they were cheap FT mods). Getting a consistent connection to the battery seemed to be a problem. Hated taking a long drag and getting nothing!
Also, I found it very hard to keep track of which batts were charged, and which weren't. But that's mostly because I am very disorganized (and a friend of mine gave me a case of 100 18650's, long story). Had he only given me 3 I would probably have been better off.
Also, the ITaste's will work as passthrus, so even if the battery does die, I still hope I can use it as a VW device. If not, I'll open it up and try to replace the internal batteries, or use the parts for a custom mod (well, I can dream, can't I?) I did also get a bunch of VV passthrus from FT, so even if e-cigs become hard to get, I think i'll still be OK.
I don't think these are really less "sustainable" than external batteries (which also wear out). The batteries are the only piece that's particularly environmentally-unfriendly.
Not criticising at all, by the way, I'm just in chatty mode (having been deprived for the last 2 months!)
