LOL again this is Tennessee, very very lax building codes, no permits required in many places here.

You could always do an anonymous call to the code officer I'm sure you have no zoning permit.

This is Tennessee where contractors are not even required to be licensed, anyone can call themselves a contractor and legally do work as one, only a business license required. Permits are only required for new construction, Tennessee is still in the dark ages and many if not most places don't even have code enforcement officers. I don't know whether they even require inspections on new construction, there is none required for repairs or remodeling. All of these things came as a huge shock to me moving here from California.

I would be surprised if permitting wasn't required. Usually (around here) even replacements have to be brought up to current codes and the way that's enforced is with permits. And this area isn't as tough as some areas. There's just no sense in worrying about it if there's nothing you can do about it.

I seriously doubt that, they are one step from arresting people living together without being married. Honestly the only protection there is is a will and power of attorney, we did this 2 years ago to prevent his estranged family from tossing me out if anything happens to him. I am in a similar situation, except I have an income and cannot remarry without losing some health benefits.

No common law in CT either. Checked back there too. At least we have been engaged forever. I had been going to one of the churches here for a couple of years and wanted to become a member, that is how you become a member of the community out here. When I told the pastor that DH and I were not married, he refused to let me become a member unless I left DH. As you can guess, I no longer go to any churches out here, period. I am not acceptable, I am living IN SIN for 20 years. I am old enough to be most of these pastors' mother. My money was just fine before I let that tidbit drop.

All I can say is that many of the southern stereotypes are facts rather than fiction. Coming here from real civilization was a huge shock, more like moving to another planet. I love the place it is gorgeous here, but I keep to myself for the most part, I do not fit in.

Blech. WTA I won from lox tastes like green peppers to me. I don't like green peppers. Im also what you would call a super taster.

Cant take my ecig outside due to the cold. Makes liquid leak when it warms back up.

Almost bought a pack of cigarettes but will stick to the tank of wta to see if it helps. A week no cigs today

Oh gosh yes. Adapters! I barely know what I'm doing, but I have an adaptor or two. Almost everything works with them If I were a millionaire, I would buy truckloads of MVP 2's and hand them out along with food at every park in the nation. I would have a crate-ful, and a slideshow presentation, and would roll up at every smoking group that I see behind every commercial store where the smokers gather shivering in the cold. And another crate, of variety juices.

There must be a way to get what I want. Got to protect the man and his house somehow so he does not make it so it can not be sold down the road because that day will come. The thing is he is a pretty smart guy in most things.

Ohhhh Shari, I have been following this situation you're having and feeling SO bad for you. I hope your SO is not only "pretty smart in most things," but also has amazing other assets to make your investment worthwhile.
