Flush wire cutters help a lot with 4 post decks. The method you used works. What I generally do is push the first coil down toward the deck after installing it, put the second coil in, secure, trim, then adjust the first coil back into position.
Push the 1st Coil down on the deck then put a slight bend to the lead going throw the center post then push it throw then bring your coil back upWhoo. Got it built. 2.5mm 28 twisted, .4 ohms.
I've never built on a four post deck before, how in the heck are you supposed to deal with the leads on the second coil? Once the first coil is installed there's no way to even get a lead through for the second coil, at least on the middle post. I ended up eyeballing and pre-cutting the middle lead, but that can't be how it's supposed to be done is it? It's so sloppy, and such guesswork to make sure the lead isn't poking out but is still securely tightened.
It also led to the first time I've ever lost a piece of kanthal wire after trimming it, so now I've got nightmares running through my head of a pet finding it and choking to death ugh.
Anyhow. Sitting for a few minutes before I take my first vape, here's hoping it lives up to my high expectations!

Is the glass tank from the new Bellus RTA compatible with GM base? I think I read it somewhere....... In other words, bases switchable?
It was mostly the fact that in order to even fit my 2.5 coils on, I felt like they had to be practically touching the post, so I didn't even have room to poke the second coil's leads through at all, much less bend them out of the way.
I suspect I have a bit more room to work with then I felt like, though. I've never worked on a deck this small. I've seen people get clapton in there, so I know intellectually there's obviously plenty of room for twisted 28. I'll just have to play around with bending the coils and leads on my next build.
I'm doing 2.5 coils right now, should I try 2mm to increase the flavor? Will that still hold up for chain vaping at high VG? I want to try my clapton, but I don't think it'll fit at 2.5, but 2mm on my twisted 28g had dry hit issues in my STM.
Ive always had clapton on mine. 28 inner core wrapped with 34 or 32 ga. 2mm id and pancake style. It produces better flavor than any other type of coil, imo for this tank. Since u cant fit staggered and those crazy builds.

I've done a modified pancake wick in the goblin mini, fluffed it all out, then trimmed the top and sides, left the bottom pancaked out and down into the juice channel. Worked well for me. I suppose one could not trim it as much and still be fine, I just didn't see a point in leaving all that excess cotton.Yeah that's probably what I'll go for next, though my clapton is 26 wrapped in 32. I figured I'd need to go down to 2mm to fit it, but since the clapton holds plenty of juice on its own I'm hoping dry hits won't be an issue, I'm a heavy chain vaper.
But how's pancake wicking even work on a deck like that? The channels are so deep and wide, I'd be nervous to do any wicking method that isn't at least covering them up.
