After two weeks and some experimentation I have found a 2mm 26g 8/7 wrap .4Ω build to work best for me.

Tried a 26g .34Ω and 24g .24Ω build. Both worked but got some burnt flavor from my DIY high VG strawberries and cream juice if I didn't draw hard and immediately. Rewicking showed a tanned but not burnt wick(cotton) so I assume it was the juice producing the burnt flavor.

Plan to get the extended tank version when it becomes available. Will try other juices at lower resistance then but for now I'm content with letting the Goblin gobble up the 200ml of S&C I have on hand.

Great tank.

That's the same build I've been running on mine. Seems to be a good one for this tank.

Speaking of which, it took a few tries to get some decent flavour out of it. I always start high and work down the ohms when I get a new atty to find the sweet spot, started with a .8 28g build, with a fair amount of cotton into the channels, and I got pretty much no flavour! I threw that in and went to work with it and was extremely disappointed. I worked down through 26g, 24g, less wick, more wick, and ended up getting the best results with twisted 26g, 2mm diameter, 7 wraps coming in at .35 ohms as reported by a Vaporshark. And I hit flavour city! it was a massive difference, the combination of twisted wire and only going about a 1/3 down the juice channels with cotton, it's hitting extremely well at 40 watts.

I tried this 26g twisted 7 wrap on 2mm build on Friday. Great clouds, great air flow, and flavor that had hints of dumpster juice and old gasoline. I thought it may have been my wicking, but I rewicked this thing 4 different ways with 2 different kinds of cotton, on all different wattages, and still got yuck-mouth.

I will try the 26g 7/8 wrap on 2mm next. but the twisted 26 was a bust.

Are you torching your kanthal before using? Not just firing in place once wrapped. Did you rinse the tank?

Both have some machine oil remaining on them.

Hear hear, machine oil will definitely ruin the vape experience.

As an aside, I kinda love your avvy. I used to play a fair few FPS online years ago and I always went by Brock Landers, one of my friends would alias as Chest Rockwell when we would pub. Good times. (Matter of fact, I think on a few gaming forums, that's still my avatar. Boogie Nights was a great movie.)

C'mon, that was my counter strike name and my buddy was chest...stopped playing ages ago. We had a whole clan named after boogie nights characters...haha. Rollergirl, buck,scotty...Was originally Dirk Diggler for awhile then suddenly saw a few Dirks pop up. Went to Brock. Finally saw another Brock pop up. Settled on EddieAdams. Even fans miss that one. Haven't seen any other Eddies on any of the forums I visit yet....

Love that movie too...such a great cast and just well done...

Back on topic. Mesh micro coils. 28g though may do again with 26. Higher ohms than anticipated. Get 1.0 with the same coil on my rm2. These read .7 together which roughly means 1.4 individually. Little higher than I like....

Yes, and yes. This was my 5th or 6th build on this tank. This one was by far the worst flavor. I always pinch and torch coils. Put the previous 24g build back on it, and got plenty of flavor. The build was just garbage in this tank for some reason.

I always torch the length I'll be using prior to rolling anything. Cleans it and makes it more malleable and easier to roll. Unscented Dawn is great for removing oils from new tanks. Good soak then thorough rinsing....

I haven't ever torched it before rolling the coil. Then again, I have never had issues with not doing that in my drippers. I will try that next time. I wasn't ever a fan of twisted coils even in my drippers though.. I decided to try it based on someone's post here using it with the Goblin thinking it might be some sort of eye opening experience. It was. Just not the good kind.

Take every rave review you read with a grain of salt about anything here. Everyone wants to be the first, inventor, founder, discoverer, so on....

You don't know their experience, they don't know yours. Doesn't mean they're not genuine in their feeling but, what have they tried and set up properly? When they rave about some mediocre liquid are they coming from some no name b&m liquid? I spent a LOT of money chasing the next big thing. Settled on a REO grand. I still buy tanks to try and see if I'm missing anything. I use them in my house.

I will say this, IMHO the Goblin is the best tank I've tried with either cotton or mesh. Better than the k3,k4, aga t5 and no leaking. Flow control on the k4(clone anyway) really doesn't make a difference as far as leaking. Pressure builds when screwing top back on, liquid shoots out.

Goblin just lacks capacity. Not a fan of dual coils really. If UD made a 4ml tank, single coil, using the same wide juice channels they'd have a huge winner. Bottom fill works best though inconvenient. Much less mess. Build deck of the aga t5, center post wide airflow fed from sides, goblin styled looks, same kayfun raised chamber with the wide channels, =winner

Like the aga t5 just very long and capacity is that of a smaller tank. Leaks when you fill it though no matter what. Minimal...still annoying...

I haven't tried twisted 26 yet, but from looking at it on steam engine, you'd need at least 150W to get twisted 26 at .3(7/6 2mm) rolling and making good steam. I have a twisted 28 build in one of my aqua v2 clones and I quite like it but it's more power hungry than I'd like. My other one is just plain old 24ga at .25. If you value vapor production over flavor, the 24ga wins. If you prefer flavor the twisted 28 wins. They aren't worlds apart, either. I'd just as soon build with straight wire in this case.

I think it's quite important to evaluate potential builds on steam engine, if for no other reason than to see how much power you're going to need. No point in making a build that needs more power than you can give it.

my only complaint on this thing is that the inner and outer diameter of the tank could have been a bit bigger. It not as big as it should have been, it has wiggle room to the sides when not tightened down, and almost too close to the chimney. I notice juices just sorta clinging between the chimney and the glass.
