Has anyone tried common plumbing teflon tape?

I've used it on quite a few toppers, bit fiddly to apply, but it does help stop the leaks. I need to change mine every 6-10 fill ups, depending on how heavy handed I am.

The main thing, as others have said, is to clean the fill port well after each fill up.

I see fasttech has a clone out now for only $17.53 https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10013071/2202700-goblin-styled-rta-rebuildable-tank-atomizer

It would be interesting to know if they fixed the fill port issue in the clone.

Here's my experience with the leaking fill hole. I've dried the screw and fill hole, spent about 5 minutes filling slowly, and all seemed good. I mounted it on one of my threaded stands so I can visually check for leaking. I saw just a tiny bit (an amount that I would have found acceptable) and thought my problem was solved. Mounted it onto a SMPL and within about 5 pulls, it was leaking so bad juice was flowing down the mod.

I decided to try a little experimenting, and backed it off the mod so it wasn't mounted flush. No leaking whatsoever. It appears when my Goblin is mounted flush I get massive leaking, but if it's not flush it's fine. Not mounting it flush isn't a final solution for me, as it will drive me crazy. This is the first device that is driving me crazy with a problem I can't really diagnose, let alone resolve.

That's so weird, I wonder why having it flush would do that, could it be that the amount of pressure being applied to the center pin somehow alters the vacuum seal?

That doesn't sound like leaking through the fill hole, but rather leaking out the afc. Leaking out the fill hole when occurs is so minimal it wouldn't drip down the side of your mod. Check your wicking.

Nope. I could see it coming out from the fill hole when it was on the stand. I took off the AFC ring to eliminate capillary action if it was leaking from there.

Like I said, if I don't mount it flush I get no leaking during use. If I tighten it down onto the mod, it leaks like there isn't even a screw in the fill hole. I went through half a tank last night trying to get it to leak even the slightest bit when it wasn't mounted flush. Stayed completely dry. Tightened it down, and after three pulls I could see juice starting to seep out from between the mod and the Goblin.

I really, really want to like this RTA, but this is a major PITA.

Odd. As an experiment I just filled my goblin, did not put the fill screw back in at all, put it on my SMPL completely flush, took 5 pulls, and let it sit for a few minutes, took a few more hits for good measure, and still no leaking. Not down the mod, no where, just took the goblin off and the bottom is still dry.

Edit

Just over 1.5 hours and still no leaking down the side of the mod.

Took the tank off, and as I would expect a bit of juice leaked out, certainly not a considerable amount for having no screw in the fill port for over.

I am betting I could have left that sit even longer and had a similar amount of juice leak, most of that was probably from me unscrewing the tank.

so you guys want a U.D. Goblin and quality control for 25 bucks?
I've got 2 always filled and 15 other brands/models that I don't use any more.
Agreed. Also for the price of UD I own quite a few items and never had any issue. The only issue I had to date was the fill hole leak and I fixed that. Not a leak since I fixed it with the same wick and coil setup that was in when it was leaking. Use an entirely different setup on the go and only use tanks at home.

Hey guys, after a few trial and errors, I may have found a fix for the fill hole/screw leak issue.

Will I couldn't find an O-Ring small enough to fit right so off to the hardware store we go. What I found that's been working for me so far is getting a pack of "Heat Shrink" tubes, 3/32"-3/64 is what you should get. I then cut a piece about 1.5mm - 2mm long. It will be a snug fit but it will fit. Manuver it all the way up to the treads and your done. No need to add heat on this setup. I also pickup a 3/16"-3/32" just in case and if you want to use that you may need some heat to shrink it down to size.

I still have no camera near by but I'll post some pics soon. Try it out. I haven't had a leak from that area since I add the heat shrink tube...for me it work out great and I hope it will help you too.

Jam:p

Have you gotten a camera yet? Still hoping for pics? Cell phone cam? Anything? :D
