Scottyballs.......I love your ZFM.
I also got many miles from the auto
drip mod with the spring and blue
fuval.
The only thing about the ZFM that
bugged me was the amount of room
the straw was taking up. Was I sacrificing
juice space? I know that vent holes would
have helped, but instead, I combined the
two mods together, using the spring lengthwise
in the cart, cutting the straw to fill the small gap to the
opening of the cart and then using the rubber
plug. Seems I am now able to get 4 or 5 more
drops of liquid into the cart and it works
great.
Thanks for the great mods and keep them coming.:toast:

IDK what exactly I am doing wrong, but I can't get these things to work at all. I pulled the plug, and filled the straw with juice. It works for a bit, but then it just all dumps into my mouth. Let me tell you what. That is nasty.

Cut the straw down a mm at a time till it stops.

I finally got around to making an end cap for my 901 carts and it works really well. Once in a while the atty gets a bit dry but a couple of quick, hard draws on the mouthpiece without power brings liquid to the atty. It's a matter of tweaking the opening a bit to achive perfection I suppose. I've come pretty close. The cart goes completely empty. I don't think the straw takes up much room at all. The material is very thin.

I was dubious about ordering any of Scotty's because there was precious little info about 901s here.
Anyway, I got tired of the leaking PTB and ordered some 901 caps. I've got plenty of straws from the PTBS mod. Probably a lifetime supply.

I believe I can hang with this for awhile. :D

Thanks, Scotty.

I have to agree with this statement. The straws that Scotty supplied are slit a ways up from the bottom, allowing the juice to easily flow around the outside of the straw. I'd be surprised if the straw took up even a drop's worth of space in the cartridge.

I press in a small amount of standard filler at the top of the straw after filling it with juice, then cap it off with one of Scotty's plugs that has been punched with a hole. This allows me to vape without concern about the gravity feed aspect of the setup. The small bit of standard filler stays wet at the plug hole until it wicks dry after the cartridge itself is dry. I've been using this same setup with my eGo for weeks with only an occasional flooding of the atty.

I've been using a very similiar mod to this for a long long time.!! I use the clear silicone gromit from a V4L carto trim it to fit my carts and BAM. I've been using this for almost a year now in my 801/901/510 and if your really good you can slice them in halves then trim then to fit, no need for a straw I find too.!!

Are there some recent pics of this?

Also of the ZFM-straw? What is the purpose of the straw? I thought it was to hold the filler-cart way up into the bridge. Is that right?

I'm confused about the dart method too, is that part of this, or can they all be combined somehow? (pics please, if anyone has them)

The straw just makes a ledge to support the plug against the bridge..

And the Dart is another mod nothing to do with this one.. my most recent pictures are at the website follow the link in my signiture..

Great job! I've been using poly and a straw mod and been pretty satisfied, but this plug thing is more consistent. I've made my own and I've not been too accurate about it. Even with some sloppy fitting, the concept has been pretty forgiving. I do get an occasional flood, but....I get that eventually from poly too! Well worth the effort!
I can knock one out in about 15 minutes with an xacto knife. If I'm careful slitting/punching the hole, it seems to be pretty much indestructable.

Didn't have a good knife to do this so I used some precision flat tip screwdrivers a 3mm and 2.4mm to be exact. I didn't cut it while it was on the cart instead I turned it upside down and cut along the inside. Then for the hole I folded it in half and marked the center with a marker. It was super easy and accurate here's the results. btw the 3mm my dog had out in the backyard for a time.

Havn't decided if I'll use the straw or glue it in yet.

hi scotty, i've been trying out this mod and it works ok with narrow bridge attys but the last time i ordered from TW, they sent me a wide bridge 510 atty... and it's not working for me, even if i use the hole cut :( it just doesn't wick, and yet it leaks! any advice?

edit: bought the carts and plugs from yourself.

If its leaking then it should at least be wicking wich kinda makes me point to the atty.. if at anytime it dose leak the straw should be cut down a hair at a time till it stops.. I find the normal Joye attys work the best.
