I have no idea whether that mech mod is a good one. Mike and others here use mechs a lot and can give you good advice.

I also have my doubts that a protected battery will fit that mod so if it was me I'd buy batteries without the added protection circuits.

What I know for sure is that you can get all of those items for less than the prices you're looking at.

Buy Now $23.99 - SMPL Mod by A-MOD | Ultimate Vape Deals - Vapes, Mods, RDA's At The Lowest Prices Possible

I just saw Legs on the Back Porch so he's around here somewhere.

Thanks for the tips. I'll probably get the mod from UVD. BTW, I didn't realize 2legs changed his avatar. I see him up there now.

No, not the protected batts, get IMR batts. I'm a fan of the AW brand, but they're mainly button tops. Does it matter whether it's a button top or flat top for the SMPL mod? I also like the LGs I've been using in my mechs.

RTD - decent vendor - I've bought the majority of my batts there.

Thanks, Mike. I think I read on here that flat tops are the way to go so I'll make sure to get the flat ones.

Single coil / dual coil / small air flow / large airflow , its all good some like ones over the others and some don't care.

Those who don't like a device because it takes say 30 watts to do what they want it to do at 70 watts.
Where is the logic ?

Yes, I unplugged the laptop and pulled the batt. as quickly as possible... but by then, it was making this weird high-pitched whining noise, kinda like those whale mating calls you hear on a PBS special. I left it outside in the sun all day yesterday and am happy to report I'm using it right now. Miracle of miracles!

Anyone hear of/using yet - propanediol (PD)? Been a lot of changes in gear, this is the 1st I'm hearing of something different for juice.

Five Pawns, the juice maker, has switch to it instead of PG. This is what they say of it.

"The new line is a 50/50 blend of vegetable glycerin (VG) and propanediol (PD), an all-natural alternative to PG, which is naturally derived from cornstarch fermented with corn sugar. PD has approval from EcoCert™ (an internationally recognized natural and organic seal) and the Natural Product Association (U.S.‐based natural personal care certification), and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), as well as certified and verified s-GRAS, USDA 100 percent bio‐based, USP‐FCC, Kosher, Halal, and FEMA GRAS. PD offers a natural, non‐irritating alternative to PG.

In an effort to produce more vapor, some users have resorted to lower-PG vapor liquids at the sacrifice of flavor. Five Pawns new PG-alternative line delivers both a classic Five Pawns flavor profile and increased vapor production."

Weird, the quotes came up wrong. I'd never hit the wrong quote. Not that I don't like it but some of this new stuff is awkward to use.

I did run across this: to break a link now you can put it between [ plain ] [ / plain ], take out the spaces, and the proper link will show but it won't be clickable. Then someone can copy/paste it without having to figure out where all the spaces are.

Drag and drop, then selected "thumbnail" from the two size options shown.

Thumbnail is almost microscopic. I've sent the hamsters to live in Atlanta until they are needed here.

Wouldn't want to dump dat litter box! Hopefully dat's a part time outdoor feline...

BTW, have yet to vape a great watermelon joose.

Litter box was my first thought too. I'm liking the TFA watermelon candy but mix it with their bubblegum juicy. Tried watermelon regular before and had to toss everything it touched because I couldn't get the (bad) flavoring/stench out of it again.

Did anyone else know WLs is now selling 1 oz bottles of flavoring? Comes in plastic bottles. (Edit - now selling one ounce bottles. Geesh.)

I had a black cat, Copernicus, who was a fiend for cantaloupe. He didn't need anybody to hold it for him, just went right at it and cleaned it down to the rind but didn't eat the rind. Copernicus was beyond fearless; those are stories for another day. He was also a spaghetti lover but that's not terribly unusual for cats.

Years later, my Yoda, a large long-haired white cat, went absolutely nuts for broccoli. LOTS of broccoli. I wouldn't allow him to eat as much as he wanted. I imposed a 4-stalk limit. Wish I had pics or video. Yoda's mom and sister would sit, bewildered but unable to look away, as Yoda chowed down on broccoli. He'd steal the broccoli off your plate even if he had to fight you to get at it.

The first time that Yoda expressed his love for broccoli he was still a small kitten. I was eating dinner in the living room, watching TV with my plate in my lap. Yoda jumped up onto the arm of the chair I was sitting in. Then, he lunged for the broccoli on my plate but I was quicker than he was and I placed him on the floor. Two seconds later he was back on the chair arm, and this time, he dove directly onto my plate and held onto the plate edges with all 4 limbs, spread as far as he could stretch, hanging on, face down in the plate, for dear broccoli.

None of our animals have had a penchant for out of the ordinary foods, oddly enough. El Whacko was nutty for the coffee vape I used to quit smoking with though. 24mg, scared the daylights out of me.

We once had a dog who stole the green peppers out of the garden. We didn't get many peppers that year.

We have some pretty funny lizards around here that are fond of basil sprouts that are about three days old. We now refer to them as Basil Burglars.

Heh. Great stories... For the back porch.
Hauling this back on topic before they move the thread...

Today's new flavor is sweet strawberry from TFA. 5% in the eliquid, and it's a refreshing flavor!

Grouch.

:( I've lost about three quotes but picked up one from another thread.

That's about as much as I've heard about it from another thread where the Five Pawns thing was quoted. Wondering how much it will cost vs regular PG. Interested to hear more about it as people try it.

I think we should double whatever we pay you for research, Mike. Very interesting. Sounds like it ought to be helpful for people who have allergic reactions to PG. I only found "1,3-Propanediol" for sale at one location and it's like $100 for half a liter.

Evidently, 1,3-Propanediol has exactly the same empirical formula as PG. Both of them are C3H8O2, but the molecular structure of each is different. Gonna stop because I've told you more than I know already.

No - thank you. I figured someone would do the research if I 'threw this out there'.

Interesting PDF, thank you. Is there a version of it in English?

One interesting point that I'd never even thought about is, "Corn-derived Propanediol uses up to 35% less non- renewable energy than chemically-derived Propylene Glycol." Perhaps if it becomes popular the cost will come down. I hope. Maybe.

The following, from the MSDS data sheet for 1,3-Propanediol, would sure make me feel like a guinea pig. Remember, such claims as "FDA approved" aren't particularly meaningful. There is NOTHING that is approved by the FDA for VAPING, although all joose ingredients have generally been approved by the FDA for some purpose or another.

4.1 Description of first aid measures

General advice

Consult a physician. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.Move out of dangerous area.

If inhaled
If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.

In case of skin contact
Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Consult a physician.

In case of eye contact
Flush eyes with water as a precaution.

If swallowed
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a physician.
